Probably the first one i mentioned is the one that most people would go for. The other two i didn't mention were Janfusun Fancyworld Theme Park and E-DA World.

The expiry date is only a month away, they need six months in event of problems with tickets. Was reading about it, and sounds like an interesting place to walk around. I'm still trying to work out where to go in Kaohsiung, as the main attraction seems to be Dragon Tiger Pagoda. Still working out what to buy as well that is unique to Kaohsiung .

Only hiccup today came as we travelled into Taipeh’s Sonshan and got within a stone’s throw of it before realising we had pinpointed the wrong airport and it should have been Taoyuan. Overshot by about 50kms adding 100kms to our travel at the end of the day! Anyway we survived it all otherwise without incident and are happy to be home about midday 17th.
As other people have mentioned, follow the crowd because there are differences when both stalls sell the same thing and one has no customers. Not too sure as i didn't really go to Taiwan for that, but the night markets are busy. But the landscape or cityscape was to me a bit monochrome...as in it's all a kind of reddish or plain colour and if the sky is cloudy then it all becomes a bit greyish.
The mall an up market shopping centre on about 5 floors, every shop an international brand. We don’t even bother to poke our nose in, we are far too tight for this kinda shopping. MRT – cheap and easy to use and therefore crowded, at peak hour I am reminded of sardines in a tin can.

Travelling to Taiwan

Вторник, 01 Ноября 2022 г. 11:12 (ссылка)

Taiwan has good rail and bus services, especially along its western corridor. Public transport is more sporadic on the east and south coasts, where it's helpful to have your own transport or to join a tour. Edison Travel offers a five-day round-island bus trip, with stops at key sights such as Sun Moon Lake, Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery, Kenting National Park and Taroko Gorge. From NT$15,900 ($559) a person, with four nights' five-star accommodation; edison.com.tw.
The bullet train system down the west coast is excellent – don't bother to fly domestically. In the cities you can always snag a drink of grab a taxi. Can get humid up north 台東必買伴手禮 and really sunny down south, but generally it's temperate. This island, continent and country, is a dynamic destination that is both culturally and geographically diverse.

So far, Taiwan sort of feels like a mix between China and Japan, which works well for me because they are two countries that I love. Thanks for the replies, have decided to go late October/early November. We're thinking of going Melbourne to Guangzhou, then to Beijing for a few days, then Taipei, then home via Guangzhou.
When I was there a couple of years ago I was very surprised at how nice Puli was, a small city, but very focused on tourism. Anyway, i came here from Kaosiung, i just stayed there 1 day. Taiwan no way can do 3-4 places if you wanted to. I'll pay for experiences but not go shopping, eating is somewhere in the middle.

Other notable wonders include the hot saltwater springs as well as the coastline's coral reefs that offer a fascinating experience to scuba divers and snorkelers. On the historical side of it, Green Island is home to the remains of a former prison of the Chinese communist regime as well as indigenous houses. For spectacular views, follow a short path that closely resembles the Great Wall, which leads to a lookout point. Take off to the Dragon & Tiger Pagodas also known as a temple situated in the Lotus Lake. Walk around in the heat – mid thirties – including up the pagoda to get good shots of the lake and various temples and shrines surrounding it.
If travelling to Hualien, particularly to visit the gorge, do your homework and book your taxi before you go. Some of the photos I've seen are pretty grass roots, so hygiene immediately popped into mind. Love how easy it was to sort out a sim card and data access – I'm able to use google maps on my phone, so I don't look like such a tourist.

Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Center in Kaohsiung and completed in 2011, BMC has been enshrining the Buddha’s relic, given by Tibetan Lama Kunga Dorje Rinpoche since the beginning of contraction in 2001. We will be spending most of our day at this place to enjoy the serene atmosphere, which also allows you to explore the whole area. Upon arrival at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport , you will be greeted by our service guide who will transfer you to your accommodation. A stay at Formosan Naruwan Hotel & Resort Taitung places you in the heart of Taitung, within a 5-minute drive of Beinan Heritage Park Visitor Service Center ... Located in Beinan, Chihpen Century Hotel is on the riverwalk, a 1-minute drive from Jhiben Hot Spring and 14 minutes from National Taitung University.
We fought over parking with several other drivers, eventually finding a space and after quite a long walk, found the fort. Originally built in 1634 as Fort Zeelandia by the conquering Dutch, the Qing Army later demolished it and instead built the Eternal Golden Castle. This was gradually abandoned until the Japanese occupation when it was rebuilt as Anping Fort.

I think Daan Forest Park has like a playground kid friendly place to play, same with the other park (2/28 Peace Park) i think. I'm pretty used to riding in crazy traffic, 1h is no big deal, as I'd like to chance to take the back roads and stop whoever I want, which isn't something I can do with public transport. I think we spent 3 hours or so in Jiufen and that was enough for us. It's an awesome place, we focused on trying all the food and didn't do a whole lot of shopping really .. Walked through the quieter streets, went to the teahouse... Maybe try and keep your time in Taipei minimal this time since you've already been before.

Featuring a balcony with mountain views, each air-conditioned room here will provide a TV, refrigerator and tea/coffee facilities. For your comfort, free toiletries and a hairdryer can be found at the private bathroom with a shower. There is a 24-hour front desk offering luggage storage service at Naruwan Galaxy Hotel. Guests can have a relaxing stroll in the garden or play billiards and table tennis at the games room.
They look smart and their service is impeccable. They are honest and use the metre so you know what you are paying for. Taxis are a great back up mode of transport because the MRT and buses won't always take you exactly to where you want to go. Taoyuan MRT – This is one way to move between TPE Airport and Taipei.
Formed by the collision of two major tectonic plates, tremor-prone Taiwan is dotted with bubbling, soothing springs. Some are public baths; others are housed in five-star resorts on the island's rugged green alpine spine, which sports more than 200 climbable peaks over 3000 metres; the highest being 3952-metre Mount Yushan . So, too, is Yangmingshan National Park, on Taipei's leafy northern edges. Spend an afternoon here, strolling, bird-watching and flower-gazing, then soak in the sulphurous hot waters of nearby Beitou, which emerged as a spa resort during the Japanese occupation. Looming 509 metres, and resembling a giant bamboo stalk, Taipei 101 is the city's modern icon, the world's tallest building until Dubai's Burj Khalifa shot past it in 2010. It affords spine-tingling views from its 89th and 91st floor observatories (the lift hits speeds of 63km/h).

Discover Taiwan

Вторник, 01 Ноября 2022 г. 11:04 (ссылка)

Travelers can then transfer by Airport Express City Buses or private car to downtown Taitung. With some of Taiwan's most beautiful coasts, mountains, valleys, etc., Taitung Seashore Park has grown to become a preferred travel destination of many tourists. It borders a breathtaking coastline that complements the magnificent view of the valleys and mountains in the distance. It is scantily populated, and so perfect for enjoying profound peace and tranquility. However, the relaxing ambiance is also perfect for fun-filled family activities, including photo opportunities and outdoor sports. If you're looking for a place to relax with your family, Taitung Seashore Park will not disappoint.
The food outlets on the first floor at the Taipei rail station are great if your passing through. Alishan, sunmoon lake are popular tourist areas, taipei is fun with great museums and monuments, kaohsiung is more typical of local minnan culture and modern. Visit kinmen for history buffs, buy meat cleavers made from 台東伴手禮推薦 communist shells and the biggest speakers you will ever see that in days past blasted propaganda to the mainland, crazy cold war era installations etc. Taroko National Park is one of the nine national parks in Taiwan and was named after the Taroko Gorge, the landmark gorge of the park carved by the Liwu River.

Lowest nightly price found within the past 24 hours based on a 1 night stay for 2 adults. Kindness Hotel Taitung Branch, rated with a score of 8.7 from 1,483 reviewers, is one of the most popular hotels in Taitung City. Other top stays include The Suites Taitung, with an average rating of 8.6 from 1,758 reviewers, and Sheraton Taitung Hotel, with a score of 8.1 from 2,101 reviewers. City buses offer transportation around the city, while the East Coast Scenic Area shuttle covers surrounding areas. Taxis, scooters and bicycle rentals are available. You can rent a car at Taitung Airport, about eight kilometres from the city centre.
A landmark in Taipei, it houses offices, restaurants, and a multilevel shopping complex, as well as indoor and outdoor observatories offering stunning panoramic views of Taipei. In the cities, lots of signs and menus are in English, and many younger Taiwanese speak English. In the countryside, signs are nearly all in Chinese characters and spoken English is rarer. Centuries-old customs and superstitions are celebrated by Taiwanese, young and old, in events charged by mysterious ceremonies, colourful costumes and a bevy of music, dancing and feasting. Now a stable, liberal democracy, Taiwan sees the occasional street protest, especially in Taipei, where placard-carrying activists rally against everything from China's claims on Taiwan to nuclear power plants.
Perfect if you only have 1 night to see as much as possible and take in some beautiful sights of Taipei as well as some great facts and history!! My guide Lawson was fantastic and he's very passionate about showing you the best that Taipei has to offer. By choice we traveled north to see the Oceanside, waterfalls, cat village and a coal town, but still had time for traditional sites in Taipei. After mostly being in Taipei our guide Roger drive us to the Geo Park, the golden waterfall, jiufen, shifen waterfall and elephant mountain.

Sun Yat-sen was first president of the Republic of China from 1919 to and the first leader of the Kuomintang the Nationalist Party of China. He was referred to as the Father of the Nation and is revered apparently more so now in Taiwan than in China. Given the nationalistic, even jingoistic nature of modern China, it is difficult to see how anybody espousing democracy and livelihood, could still be revered in communist China. Capitalism, hard work and a natural entrepreneurial bent – and certainly not communism – has been responsible for improving China’s infrastructure and the livelihood of hundreds of millions of its citizens. Socialism and the Chinese Communist Party’s doctrine, demonstrated unequivocally, as if the message was ever needed’, via the great leaps forward and its cultural revolution, exactly how to wreck a once proud nation.
Hey guys, I'm heading to Taipei start of January and just wanted to know if there are a lot of places to exchange over there and if exchange rate will be better than getting it done in Australia. Some have said that its common to find locals that speak english, enough to hold a conversation anyway and some say its a rarity to come accorss an english speaking local. Yeah, not so much the fast food option I was considering, was more places where, if needed, we can get a quality plain western meal, like a steakhouse or something. Taipei has many western style restaurants but you'll find some of it has been changed to local tastes. Whilst I am quite broad in my tastes, my daughter is not so much and am a little concerned about how she will go with different foods.

Built in 1976 the pagodas have intricate and colourful eaves and carvings and appear well maintained. You approach the pagodas via zig zag walkway over the water and enter the dragon’s mouth symbolizing courage. After viewing the pagodas and taking many pics we exit the Tiger’s mouth escaping danger. Today in summary we go south mainly via the east coast to the southern point of Taiwan and back up the west coast to Kaohsiung City. A long day behind the wheel, sometimes a bit hair raising but we survived unscathed and my beloved and I are still talking and the relationship solid. First stop is Chikeshan which we reached by deviating probably about 20kms off our route, about 12kms of it up a narrow, at times quite steep and very winding road.

Located on the northern edge of Taiwan, just a quick trip from Taipei, Yangmingshan National Park offers a dose of nature for city-dwellers and those touring the bustling capital. Visit Yangmingshan to hike through its volcanic scenery and rolling hills, soak in its hot springs, and, in the spring, see the cherry blossoms in bloom. The east, however, offers a window into old Formosa. Located in Taitung City, CHIILIH HOTEL CORAL MUSEUM is a perfect starting point from which to explore Taitung. The hotel offers a high standard of service and amenities to suit the individual needs of all travelers. The hotel offers various recreational opportunities.
Located on the riverside of Tamsui River and as a former colonial area for the Spanish, the Dutch and as well as the Japanese, Tamsui was one of the major trading ports in Asian history. As a consequent, when you are enjoying local famous Taiwanese street food at Tamsui Old Street, you may also discover some of the colonial remains! ●Longshan Temple which has been built since 1738 and is one of the most historical Chinese temples in Taiwan. We will be also going to the nearby Snake Alley to experience local people’s life, delicacies and drinks. After dark, you'll find Taipei locals at the city's night markets.

I bought a small freshly blended watermelon drink at a street stall yesterday for 25 NTD. The night before, a small bowl of fish ball soup was also 25 NTD. I took a very short ride on the MRT for 20 NTD .
Indian food not so much tho' there are Indians working there – yoga teachers, etc. – and the odd Indian restaurant. Most people have learned some English at school and Taiwanese are hospitable. I'm guessing since you are only there probably 4 full days or maybe less you are going to stick with Taipei. We were there three weeks ago with the highlight being seeing the Pandas fed at the Taipei Zoo.
China can count itself very lucky that the red guards and their ilk did not get their hands on the priceless, magnificent and ancient artifacts and exhibits that we viewed today. There were three floors and we could have spent a day on each floor instead of two hours on the lot. Couple of hiccups travelling south from Okinawa via Naha Airport to Taipeh. The first occurred when checking in for the flight on China Airlines they discovered that Lilly’s Taiwanese visa stated her name as TL and not LT as per her passport.

MEET TAIWAN

The east side of the lake resembles a sun while the west side resembles a moon. It is very hazy today whether that is the heat or pollution, who knows. Lilly suggests the pollution could well come from China.
Its in the middle of nowhere so you will need more than a day. The distance isn't far but due to the route it is quite slow. Most people go there for sunset, plus visiting the forest. Other than that you can research what you like and then stop there according to 伴手禮 that, the other two main towns are Taitung and Yilan on the east coast. Ruifang district in the north is also another possibility for a stop. When I was over there for 9 days, I uploaded alot of photos and did something like a total of 40gb in download/uploads.

Proceed to the most colourful night market in Taiwan - Huahsi Night Market and experience soaring heights at the world's second tallest building - Taipei 101 (at your own expense - from AUD$15). ●Kenting National Park where is located at southern tip of the island of Taiwan. You will see the spectacular landscape and unique wildlife when travelling on the coach. We will have a stop at Maibitou (Cape Cat’s Nose) Park to enjoy the breeze from the ocean of the southernmost tip. You will also visit Eluanbi Lighthouse which is one of the major attractions in the national park.
The KMT ruled Taiwan as a single-party state for forty years, until democratic reforms in the 1980s, which led to the first-ever direct presidential election in 1996. Today the Taiwanese see themselves as Taiwanese, not as Chinese. The official stance of Taiwan is that Taiwan is part of China. But the China that this stance refers to is the Republic of China instead of the communist People’s Republic of China . We head towards our hotel and not far away stop at the National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine, a structure that houses the spirit tablets of about 390,000 persons. These were persons killed, among other engagements, during the Xinhai Revolution, Northern Expedition, Second Sino-Japanese War, Chinese Civil War, and the First and Second Taiwan Strait Crises.
I didn't do too much in Kaohsiung but i remember going to this art pier thing i think called The Pier-2 Art Center and going to Qi Jin, can bike around there, there's a fort on that island too. There's that lookout over the city Shoushan LOVE Lookout and further out is that nature area Chaishan. There's also that famous lake with the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas. There is E-DA Theme Park in kaohsiung though but not sure how good it is. Or another alternative is doing the East Coast of Taiwan. One thing i really really like about Taiwan is the people, they are super nice and helpful.

This afternoon, visit Danshui - a laidback waterfront town on the northern part of Taipei city. One of the main settlements for the Spanish in the 1600s, and settled by the Japanese during World War II, this is a town filled with history and unique 1900s architecture and infrastructure. Enjoy lunch today at Danshui Old Street, where you can feast on many famous Taiwanese snacks. In the evening, explore the bustling night life of Taipei. Have a traditional Taiwanese Local Dinner before visiting the oldest temple in Taiwan - Longshan Temple.

We have our heart beats taken and our tongues examined by the pharmacologist, a very pleasant young doctor. He reckons Lilly eats too much, gets upset too easily and carries her little troubles too long. I am more equable but need to eat less meat and drink less, I think he possibly said, “milk”.
Taiwan is one of my favourite countries in Asia, there is so much to see and do yet it remains under marketed and relatively cheap. It also has natural beauty as well as significant history. Only drawback is that winter sees more rain, especially on the East Coast which sadly is very scenic. Yea they might be kinda similar but it's not going to be exactly like that style probably smaller as well but yea check those out and you can see what you think. The multiple amenities this modern hotel has to offer include a 24-hour reception, a currency exchange and free bicycle rental. Otherwise known as the 'Black Forest,' the Taidong Forest Park sits upon 692 acres of land. Tourists will find this extensive parkland ideal for walking and cycling. A not-so-hard to miss feature in the park is the breathtaking Pipa Lake. The waters of this lake are home to marine life, both animal and aquatic. Catch a glimpse of rare species of marine life from the viewing platform that overlooks the lake.

You may well be asked to pose for photos with groups of locals. Can't understand why more people don't visit Taiwan. It is an extremely scenic country and easy to get to. If you like riding bicycles, Guanshan in Taitung county is a good spot with a round the town cycle track and you can actually walk/cycle up the mountain as well. Food here is more traditional cuisine and no western fast food except for maybe hotdogs at the 7-11. Hmm i stayed at Dong Wu Hotel in January this year, i mean it was pretty easy to get around although you need to change train line to get to the red train line.
Located in Taitung, Chii Lih Hotel - Taitung Coral Museum is in a shopping district, a 3-minute drive from National Museum of Prehistory and 6 minutes from Beinan ... To catch the domestic wave of post-pandemic outdoor travel, this year Taiwan Excellence and MEET TAIWAN launched separate balloon ride events on Facebook and Instagram with a specially-madefilteras the prize. The moment commemorated seven consecutive years of joint efforts between Taiwan Excellence, MEET TAIWAN, and the Taitung County Government to showcase Taiwan’s attributes to the world.
Park the car and walk around the centre of the city looking for a restaurant and taking in the sights of the night market, mainly fruiterers. Getting nearly back to the car we see the Sheraton Hotel and poke our nose in hoping they have a restaurant. Turns out they have two and we have a decent meal in their Chinese Restaurant. We stop next at Sanxiantai, an area containing three islands located on the coast and joined to the mainland by a long footbridge in the shape of a sea dragon.

The trip concludes back in Taipei, where you will catch your flight back to Australia. Enjoy the peaceful countryside and coastline at parks, such as Xiaoyeliu Scenic Area and the accompanying rock-strewn beaches. Cycle around Taitung Forest Park and its three lakes or take a boat to 台東市伴手禮 Green Island for snorkelling and soaking in saltwater hot springs. Located off the eastern coast of Taiwan, Green Island is a natural hub for endless outdoor activities. It is particularly famous for a cave that serves as home to a stalagmite said to resemble the Goddess of Mercy.

I'll be traveling on my own, so might be too scary/too expensive to consider driving? (I have no idea what the traffic is like – is it crazy like China, or manageable like Australia? In Asia, the only place I have driven a hire car is Japan). We got a ride from Taipei via the west coast through Hualien then onwards to Pingtung, the rail to Kaohsuing and train back up from Kaohsuing to Taipei. Most signs in dual language, a lot of people either know English, or have a basic command of it. My bro headed to beijing for one week; and most shopping centres had basic commands of english.
The local tour operator will pick up and drop off at your hotel. The guide is very friendly and spoke English well, including Japanese. It would have been nicer to extend the stay in the hot springs hotels longer (2 nights vs. Caleb was both knowledgeable and generous in sharing history and culture of the locations we visited. We talked at the outset about our interests and he incorporated all of those into the day trip. Wonderful English speaker , great sense of humour and someone who made our tour of Taipei memorable .

As for democracy (Mínquán), Sun Yat-Sen believed in a western style of government by the people, anathema to the current regime in China. According to Wikipedia this damper is suspended from the 92nd to the 87th floor. It is a pendulum that sways to offset movements in the building caused by strong gusts.

Plenty of events, a great live music scene, fascinating history and some brilliant museums and galleries. I stayed in 'The Grand Hotel' that is favoured by chinese tourists, and was working in a hospital. I only saw 2 other westerners while i was there, it was a little surreal, but i stayed in 'The Grand Hotel' that is favoured by chinese tourists, and was working in a hospital.

It's such a breeze to get around – public transport is fantastic, cheap, very reliable and High Speed Rail makes travelling to other cities that much more enjoyable. Going to Taiwan at the end of December – this time I'll travel around the island instead of staying in Taipei as I did when I went there for my first time. You basically dun have to worry about the western food restaurant in Taipei, there are plenty, from fast food to steak house, especailly around the main station.

Its located close to the taipei Main station, so very easy access to go anywhere... Isn't The Grand Hotel right around the corner from The American Club Taipei? I would've thought there would be a whole heap of westerners in the area! Especially because of the massive park just across the road/river... I know I had a couple of nights round there sneakily drinking with friends...
Stop at Siaoyeliou, Sansientai, Stone Steps, Caves of the Eight Immortals and take in the views. This property offers transfers from the train station. To arrange pick-up, guests must contact the property 24 hours prior to arrival, using the contact information on the booking confirmation.
The old railway station in town plays host to Taitung Railway Art Village, which features rainbow-coloured paper lanterns and the works of local artisans. Taitung must eat Delicacy

Понедельник, 01 Октября 2022 г. 02:24 (ссылка)

The east side of the lake resembles a sun while the west side resembles a moon. It is very hazy today whether that is the heat or pollution, who knows. Lilly suggests the pollution could well come from China.
I wanted to go there but had no time, i remember there being a public area and there's private rooms too i think. It's the main or most visited hot spring i guess in 台東特產 Taiwan since it's close to Taipei...there are others ones around the country in the mountains but not too sure. As others suggested, stay in Taipei City is better.

The main metropolis of the sprawling Taitung County, Taitung City faces the Pacific Ocean and cradles the region’s historical museums, arts centres, lakes and parks. With charming islands just offshore and botanical gardens nearby, there are plenty of ways to connect with culture and nature. We are relatively close to the Yushan National Park, which we missed from the other side of the island but we decide the extra 150 kms to travel there and back was not on today. We have travelled through many scenic areas and are a bit sorry to miss this one, next time perhaps, particularly if we are fit enough to do some hiking. In 1662, Koxinga, a loyalist of the Ming dynasty who had lost control of mainland China in 1644, defeated the Dutch and established a base of operations on the island. His forces were defeated by the Qing dynasty in 1683.

Alternatively, take a relaxing stroll or cycle down to the shore and enjoy the fresh ocean breeze. Today we have a free day in Taichung and drive around visiting sights in the city, none of which were outstanding. Taiwan has got so much going for it and so much going against it. The elephant in the room casts a long shadow over what is a thriving democracy and its warm and hospitable people. That shadow of course extends over more than Taiwan and even more than over the Pacific but it is Hong Kong that is currently resisting suppression and Taiwan is possibly the next of the dominoes. The choice of the people of both countries is obvious, but that matters not to the elephant.

The weather was really humid but everything else was excellent. Taipei 101 Observation Deck – only visit on a clear day. Taxis in Taipei, are they able to handle large suitcases when travelling to and from Taoyuan airport or do special arrangements need to be made. Oh no, we get to Taipei in the arvo, and I was thinking we go to Yangmingshan the next morning. I was thinking of just getting there by public transport.. I actually bookmarked Yehliu but didn’t realise how close it was until now.

Maccas, KFC, Burger king, MOS burger, you can all get these around that region. A day trip to Sun Moon Lake is highly recommended. I visited from Taichung but there are trips from Taipei. Tainan is a cool and delicious city, Kaohsiung is hot but slightly more boring but nice enough.

That said, petty crimes like pickpocketing can occur, and it's still worth being aware and taking precautions, especially after dark. Note that typhoon season is from May to November and can cause disruptions. We got plenty of time to see this magnificent town and take in a lot of its cultural touchstones, even with the morning free to explore Taipei.
Taitung Showtime Mall is the biggest traditional shopping mall with indoor stalls and internationally recognizable brands. A large and complete and prehistoric settlement, Beinan Cultural Park is an archaeological site. It covers some 10,000 m2 and has over 1,600 burial sites. It was discovered in 1980 when approximately 20,000 pieces of pottery jade and stone tools were unearthed. Government officials took note of this and proceeded to construct and open the National Museum of Prehistory in 2002 to preserve the rare artifacts.

The aquamarine Liwu River cuts through the centre, forging deep slitted valleys before joining the sea. Take in the majestic scenery of the Taroko Gorge, a place that has to be seen to be believed. Stop off at the Eternal Spring Shrine, Swallow Grotto, The Tunnel of Nine Turns, Marble Bridge Tienshiang and the Marble Factory. Make the most of your last night in Taiwan at your leisure. When you feel hungry at night and does not have personal transportation, you’ll be starving.
A young bustling hang out city filled with shops, restaurants and bars. Everything is accessible from Ximen Metro Station. Seemed pretty safe as well as it is always bustling 伴手禮 台東 until the late hours of the night. Excellent hotels; 2 of the 4 hotels had natural hot springs in the room. The tour guide Eric and the driver Godzilla were excellent.

In terms of pure nature though from what i visited- alishan, sun moon lake, taroko gorge, yehliu, Jinguashih, shifen. My friend went there actually last week and she loved it even though it was rainy and cloudy at times. Easycards – You can get them from dispensing machines near the MRT. You buy them for NT$100 and you can use a different machine to top them up. The top up machine isn't big on English but you should be able to work out how to top up your easycards. Easycards are really convenient for travelling on MRT and buses, including intercity buses and return).
It’s all about prestige and face in my down to earth opinion. Still it’s a bit of an icon especially in Taiwan and we had to visit it, despite the admission fee of $30 each. The tower’s elevators reach speeds of 60km, are extremely smooth and transport us from earth to heaven in 37 seconds. Set speed records in those days, probably now snail’s pace. The hotel was first established in 1952 as Chiang Kai-shek felt Taipei had no proper hotels for hosting foreign dignitaries.
I had a wonderful time on this hike with My Taiwan Tour. Lucy is a fantastic guide with a great attitude and lots of information about life in Taiwan. It's a steep hike, but worth every step to the top--the views of Taipei are amazing!

CHIILIH HOTEL CORAL MUSEUM combines warm hospitality with a lovely ambiance to make your stay in Taitung unforgettable. Enjoy luxurious accommodation at the Hotel Green World Hotel Songshan, located at MRT Houshanpi Station, completely meets the businessmen’s needs for quiet accommodation with beautiful views. Close to Songshan Railway Station and MRT Houshanpi Station, the Hotel is conveniently accessible.

There a ban in place now for foreigners arriving through Hong Kong . There's a really big tech mall known as "Guanghua Digital Plaza". Get off at Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT station and you can check it out. It's something like 8 floors of computer hardware sellers, there's also another building for consumer electronics thats also quite large. Doubt it, it doesn't cool down until around October (mid-high 20s), it's around everyday at the moment. Also late afternoon thunderstorms are quite common and we just had a typhoon last week.

I'm currently thinking about one week in Taipei (e.g. 4 days at the beginning of the trip, and 3 days at the end) and maybe 4 – 5 days in Hualien. We will be there for 4 weeks, which is enough time to go from north to south and back again. But we like to take our time with each place, and it looks like there is a lot to see just in the north and the central areas of Taiwan.
Traveller-Inn Tiehua Light Spot Hotel offers a comfortable setting while in Taitung City. It provides free Wi-Fi, a tour desk and luggage storage. Kaishen Sinsu Hotel provides comfortable 3.5-star accommodation in Taitung City.

It’s a commercial operation in an area that suits this particular flower and there are obviously quite a number of growers. How they keep going up and down this hill 12kms each way must be a chore and somewhat dangerous. There’s not much room to pass in places but we make it down in one place and take the scenic route through to the coast.
Visitors enjoying the nature can go southward to the popular Four Beasts Mountains or go eastward to Nangang Park, the park with the most powerful energy field in Taiwan. Because of the blessed geographical location, Green World Hotel Songshan is indeed the integration of a city and an oasis. You'll then travel along the coast through Taiwan’s last remaining unspoiled region, the East Coast National Scenic Area, before reaching Taroko National Park and Taroko Gorge. With its "marble-walled canyons, lush vegetation and mountainous landscape", Taroko "really puts the formosa in Ilha Formosa", raves Lonely Planet.
The old railway station in town plays host to Taitung Railway Art Village, which features rainbow-coloured paper lanterns and the works of local artisans. Pick up handicraft souvenirs and check the schedule for live aboriginal music shows. Visit Ata Aboriginal Culture Craft to watch handmade glass bead creation and to buy textiles, bead art and leather goods. Inn by the Village is set in Taitung City and is within a short walk of nearby landmarks, including Tiehua Music Village. In addition to free private parking on site, the hotel offers comfortable 3-star rooms and a bar.

Travelling to Taiwan

Понедельник, 01 Октября 2022 г. 02:10 (ссылка)

The east side of the lake resembles a sun while the west side resembles a moon. It is very hazy today whether that is the heat or pollution, who knows. Lilly suggests the pollution could well come from China.
The park spans Taichung Municipality, Nantou County, and Hualien County. This national park is named after the Taroko Gorge where supplies ample quantity of marble. You will also have a chance to appreciate the beauty of majestic Liwu River which cuts through the marble 台東名產 as it flows through Taroko Gorge. Taipei 101 tower started in 1999 and finished in 2004. The tower has served as an icon of modern Taiwan ever since its opening. The building was architecturally created as a symbol of the evolution of technology and Asian tradition.

Should you desire more, do not hesitate to ask the front desk, we are always ready to accommodate you. Have an enjoyable and relaxing day at the pool, whether you’re traveling solo or with your loved ones. Be ready to get the unforgettable stay experience by its exclusive service, completed by a full range of facilities to cater all your needs.

This lighthouse is cylindrical shaped coloured in white and is also renowned as “the Light of East Asia” for its strong optical power of light that can reach 20 miles at most. Kenting Street is where visitors are offered with a complete selection of foods while embraced by enjoying a relaxing holiday ambience. In addition, fresh tropical fruits and seafood can also be found along the street.

It provides complimentary Wi-Fi, an express check-in and check-out feature and a 24-hour reception. There are many taxis in Taitung, however a majority tend to congregate around the Old Railway Station. Tariffs start at NT$85 and cost around NT$150 for a ride within the city center.
Visitors can visit the nearby museum from Tatung Station to see the ancient artifacts that have been unearthed. This re-purposed space now hosts many permanent art exhibits and performers, as well as a tourist shop selling souvenirs for visitors. Join our community of over 400,000-plus members today and get the latest Over60 news, offers and articles.

Most convenience stores (eg, 7-11) accept easy cards as payment. Carrefour hypermarket accepts easycard as payment. So does Maokong cable car. Many stores in foodcourts also accept the easycard including stores like Jason's in Taipei 101. The nature side of Taipei was pretty impressive, too. I climbed a mountain (no idea what it's called), but it had those hot, sulphur vents from the ground (first time I'd ever seen that, couldn't get over how cool it was)... The fog was so intense and thick that day, that I was literally dripping with water.

Taichung to Taipei by high speed rail is like one hour if that's where you want to go. Even Xinyi district which i guess means between Taipei 101 and Taipei City Hall, that area on google maps. I remember walking through there it's a bit more upmarket if i remember correctly, more fancy malls and restaurants and stuff, family friendly.

Четверг, 14 Октября 2022 г. 01:00 (ссылка)

The city of Turda is located about 35 km from Cluj-Napoca and can be a first stop on your trip from Transylvania. Turda Salt Mine is the largest salt mine in the country, where you will discover a fascinating museum and a real amusement park located at a depth of over 42 meters. And if you choose this route transylvania trips in the warm season, don't miss the Turzii Gorges, a rocky gorge with special landscapes. Are you planning a new car trip in the Transylvania area and you are not sure what tourist attractions to visit? Well, we have prepared for you a top 5 places that are worth seeing if you go through Transylvania.
The trip content is very varied and if you love wildlife, wildflowers and fungi this is a great trip. Wild European Brown bear watching in the forest and the bear sanctuary was brilliant. Local hikes in the rugged countryside- Barza valley; Coja, Pestera and Postavarul nature reserve were wonderful. Brasov and Bran castle visits were informative and took you back to the past.

In June, temperatures are likely to range from 15ºC at night to 28ºC during the day. Bucharest and the delta are much warmer than the mountains. If you are already insured or a non-UK resident, please inform us of your policy at the time of booking. Today’s walk follows an undulating path through mixed beech and pine forest and links two of the great mediaeval monasteries. We begin with a visit to Sucevita, a classic example of a heavily fortified monastery, where illiterate soldiers and peasants were educated by the biblical scenes depicted on the external frescoes. We offer the best experiences of this region so rich in history and cultural heritage, with an exceptional, unspoiled natural environment.
Stunning countryside all around you in the foothills of the Carpathians. Walking trails through traditional farming and mountain scenery. A visit to the Libearty Sanctuary plus opportunity to see bears in the wild. Entry requirements vary depending on your destination and nationality.

They almost never hurry anywhere and are the kindest hosts you can expect to meet in Romania. BucharestRegarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Eastern Europe, Bucharest will be the start of your trip in Romania. With stunning 1800s architecture and rich culture, there is a lot to experience here.
Perhaps revisit some of the magnificent sites from yesterday’s tour - or make your own discoveries. We are delighted to announce that our Romania holiday is now online, with amazing discounts and flexible booking conditions. Flights from the UK, accommodation and transfers are included in the price. This day trip from Sibiu is an incursion to Romania antique history.

For the 55th time, the Pens will write a chapter of their history in the NHL. Where this one ends is yet to be seen, but the story begins in earnest with the beginning that comes today. ‘Once they were ready at 4.30pm yesterday afternoon we then rushed to the Hungarian border, we couldn’t cross because we are South Africans and we need visas. So we met one of the consul members who came across the border to issue an emergency travel permit at the side of the road.
Transylvania has tons of hidden gems, including its own salt region. After a free morning in Sighisoara, travel to Viscri, less than an hour away (but it’ll feel like you’re entering another world). The small Transylvanian village of Viscri was originally inhabited by Saxons from the Luxembourg area, and the whole scene is picture-postcard rural. This idyllic village of red tiled roofs is a World Heritage site, virtually unchanged for 900 years. After a home cooked lunch at the house of a local family you’ll visit the town's fortified church , and learn about the Sock Project, which supports the local Roma community. Continue on to the 13th-century city of Brasov in the afternoon.

On the way, you will pass through Alba Iulia, the original capital of Romania. I strongly advise you to take a break and visit the cobble-stoned citadel, if only for one hour. There is also a cable car, which you will pass by, once you begin your ascend on-foot, on the paved road of the fortress.
Air travel and taxes, transfers, 9 nights’ accommodation, breakfast daily, 2 lunches, itinerary as described, services of guides and local representatives. If our specially negotiated airfares are unavailable at the time of booking, a supplement may apply. Riding through the dramatic mountains and lakes of Austria we bed down in Hinterglemm for 2 nights where we have a day off to relax or to get back in the saddle for a couple of rideouts.

And the 59-year-old royal's interest goes beyond family links. He has been instrumental in injecting new life into the area - buying several properties in the 12th-century Saxon village of Viscri, 250km north of Bucharest. He's also involved in several ecological farming projects and in the regeneration of the historic centre of neighbouring Sibiu city. Your hosts at the fabulous Hora cu Brazi guest house will provide a warm welcome and after check-in a delicious home-cooked dinner.
It is important that you budget carefully and ensure you have the right form of currency before you arrive in the country. Cash machines will also be available throughout the tour in order to withdraw money in your local currency. This tour is accessible to most people with a good level of fitness and normal mobility. It involves climbing of steep stairs and getting on and off coaches. This tour is not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and went over and above to make out tour as enjoyable as possible.
Highlights include Sighisoara Medieval Citadel, the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, followed by a city tour of Sibiu, Corvinesti Castle or the unique Turda Salt Mine. Before we drop you off to at the airport, you will also explore the city of Cluj-Napoca. We organize several Vampire Tours and Halloween Trips throughout the year, ranging from 1-Day City Breaks to awarded 7-Days Tours or even 11-Days Study Trips.

Grand Tour of Transylvania

Четверг, 14 Октября 2022 г. 00:58 (ссылка)

Our base for 2 nights is a new country inn noted for its excellent regional cooking. Discover the famous medieval burgs of Sibiu, Sighisoara and Brasov, visit Bran and Peleș castles, Biertan fortified church, and catch a glimpse of the ordinary life of Saxon villages. Transylvania is home to some of Europe’s best-preserved transylvania trips medieval towns featuring Old Saxon architecture, cobblestone streets and pastel-coloured houses. Visitors to Transylvania will also encounter stunning castles, fortified churches and incredible Carpthian Mountain scenery. Transylvania’s multi-ethnic heritage is alive and well in the small villages of Transylvania.
Perched on a headland above Bran, you’ll see the castle’s conical towers rise above the thick green forest as we approach - and it’s simply thrilling. Journey towards the Bucegi Mountains and Prahova Valley in the Southern Carpathians and enter a magical mountain region fabled for the legend of Count Dracula. Follow in the footsteps of the Romanian royal family and visit the mountain resort of Sinaia. The Village Museum is a charming open-air museum which showcases original houses that belonged to the Romanian peasants from all over the country. The museum also hosts many traditional fairs, where you can find traditional food and crafts.

The 79 rooms and suites ensure a comfortable stay and are decorated in a simple, homely design. The period-style restaurant is on the ground floor, offering views of the Sarindar Fountain, and serves national and international cuisine. Public tour – A great way to meet new people while you're travelling!
The sterling’s volatility is affecting the plans of millions of people planning winter sun holidays, a new survey has suggested. Located on top of a hill, natural defensiveness supplemented by impressive military engineering, Sighișoara is a highly picturesque little town. Buildings range from the 13th to the 19th centuries with a fine 15th-century church with good furnishings and a superb altarpiece of 1490. Renovated in 2016, the fortified church in Alma Vii gives an insight into the customs of Transylvanian Saxons. The landscapes of the Bucovina and Transylvania are those of gently rolling hills, dense woods, broad rivers and villages with pastel painted houses and riotous flower beds. Horses are still to be found in harness, ploughing the fields and transporting produce to markets.

Upon their migration to southern Transylvania, they began building little communities. The fortified churches started to be built in the mid 13th century. It is a condition of booking with Explore that you have adequate valid travel insurance. Your Insurance Policy must fully cover you for medical expenses and emergency repatriation to your home country. Please ensure your policy includes medical emergency helicopter evacuation in the event of illness or injury and covers the entire duration of your holiday.
This can obviously vary dramatically from country to country and from trip to trip. On this particular trip we will be in hotels and community owned guesthouses. Please note that the accommodation mentioned in the itinerary is intended as a guide only and is always subject to availability. Accommodate at a hotel located in the vicinity of Bran Castle and enjoy a traditional dinner. After that, join our organized group at the entrance to the castle in order to take advantage of the ‘skip the ticket office line’ service. Go on a unique night tour of Dracula’s Castle and then party till morning on the grounds.

Today we will visit the Corvin Castle, the largest gothic castle in Transylvania. We will leave Sibiu in the morning and after a one and a half hour driving, we will arrive in Hunedoara. The city is an industrial town laid around the 15th-century castle. We will visit the castle, learning more about the Transylvanian history and different stages of construction of the Castle. And yes, don’t worry, we know all the anecdotes and little stories that will make this trip much more interesting and funny.
So forget about planning one Romania road trip to see it all, and think about what you want to see the most and start from there. That’s why you’ll need more than one road trip through Romania to discover it ALL. Spend part of the day embarking on a gentle hike, following the river through the gorge to reach a viewpoint that boasts breath-taking panoramas, and explore the biggest of the 124 caves to be found in the area. Your experienced guide will explain to you the diverse flora and fauna of the natural reserve.

On the way, you will pass through Alba Iulia, the original capital of Romania. I strongly advise you to take a break and visit the cobble-stoned citadel, if only for one hour. There is also a cable car, which you will pass by, once you begin your ascend on-foot, on the paved road of the fortress.
A land of wild forested mountains and timeless medieval landscapes, Romania has lain at the cultural crossroads of Central, Eastern and South-eastern Europe for centuries. Hemmed in by the great arc of the Carpathian Mountains, its wealth of well-preserved medieval towns and churches play host to some of the most authentic and atmospheric cultural encounters. Private tour – Ideal for family groups or solo travellers who want a more personal tour experience. When you book a private tour you'll get to enjoy the experience without members of the public joining you. Since Transylvania was home to isolated villages rather than to large urban settlements, here we will find traces of the medieval life in one of the villages that we will visit on our way back.

A firm favourite among bikers world wide the B500’s steep and twisty roads are an exhilarating intro to this fantastic tour. We start our adventure getting the eurotunnel to Calais and from there we ride to Reims via the disused MotoGP track with the pit stops and grandstand now part of the main road. The track was the second location of the Grand Prix, several Formula one races and the MotoGP. After breakfast you'll head to a unique cave containing fragile calcium crystals and accessible only through a former mine. You'll next walk along the Rosia Valley route where you'll learn about the fauna, flora and the karst features of the area, with a fantastic viewpoint over the Lazuri Gorge. The support vehicle is always within easy reach with supplies of water and snacks. “There’s wolves and Gothic castles and we might even wear Van Helsing hats,” we exclaimed to anyone who questioned our choice, while showing them pictures of gorgeous countryside that a Google search quickly rendered. We also visited Peleș Castle in the Carpathian Mountains, which, although slightly smaller, was equally as stunning, together with the charming cities of Sibiu and Sighișoara, both around two hours’ drive from Brașov.

Enroute you will stop to visit Peles Castle, a magnificent 19th-century royal palace, full of marble, crystal and priceless examples of carved exotic wood. Despite its aesthetic, there is little evidence to suggest Vlad Tepes, the speculated inspiration for Dracula, ever lived there. Bran Castle was built between 1377 and 1388 to protect nearby Brasov from invaders. The rooms and towers surround an inner courtyard with a sculpted stone fountain. A warren of narrow, winding stairs, secret chambers and underground passageways lead between vaulted halls, a prison, a living area and watchtowers with sweeping views. The rooms are decorated with a collection of Baroque furniture, elaborately carved four-poster beds, weapons and armour dating from the 14th to 19th centuries.
Before leaving Bucovina, diverge from the beaten path to discover the extraordinary Nicolae Popa Ethnographic Museum, located in the home of the renowned Naïve sculptor. The incredible collections document Romanian peasant tradition, and represent a cultural labor of love carried out by the artist. Join our e-newsletter to be the first to find out about new tour releases, special offers and all the latest from the Magellan community. Peles Castle - the summer residence of the Royal Family - is a neo-Renaissance masterpiece. Sharp spires, timber-framed panels, and detailed brickwork surrounded by thick forest in every shade of green - you’ll be forgiven for thinking you’ve walked straight into the pages of a storybook. Once under Hungarian rule, Cluj still has a large Hungarian diaspora and you’ll find this dotted around the city centre – like the Hungarian state theatre and opera. The lively city of Cluj is a great option to start or end your trip, served by a decent number of low-cost flights. Thanks to a large student population it has a young, buzzing vibe and with plenty of outdoor spaces made us feel we spent more time seeing it. We did the loop clockwise from Cluj Napoca which has flights to London, but you can also start in the capital Bucharest with a few more hours of driving to account for. Walking through Sighisoara’s twist of medieval streets is a tranquil, fairytale-like experience; you’ll feel utterly transported. In fact, its towers were once packed with weapons and emergency supplies in anticipation of Turkish attacks.

Rumour has it that in times of the Turks the inhabitants of this village helped the Impaler to flee to the mountains and he, as a sign of gratitude, gave the neighbours their grazing land. Bucharest likes big things – the tour will also stop by the huge Piata Unirii, one of Europe's largest squares, and continue on to the ‘Ceausima’, Bucharest's 12-storey Palace of Parliament. The former dictator ordered the construction of this monster, a building of staggering scale and opulence that includes 1,100 rooms and 4,500 chandeliers. Very good itinerary, lots of walking as you expect to see everything. Excellent guide Dan and driver Boris a well planned holiday. I was a solo traveler on this trip and found the tour and hotels very good. On the way to Brașov, stop at Prejmer for one more fortified church.

Private Tours in Transylvania, Romania

It doesn’t have the beautiful graphics of the Eyewitness Travel Guides, but it does the trick. The trip was absolutely phenomenal, no other words to describe it. A hard mountain climb, but full of history and incredible views. If you enjoy hiking and mountain climbing, this transylvania trips is hands down the trip for you. Litochoro was a beautiful little mountain town for getting acquainted with your tour group, before a beautiful hike. The views from the mountain lodge are simply incredible, you can see through the valley right to the ocean on a clear day.
That’s why it’s heavy traffic towards and away from Bucharest, especially during the summer and on the weekends. While driving in Bucharest can be overwhelming for some, most Romanian cities are less busy and should be no issue for an experienced driver. Although most locals understand English, or at least there will be some younger people around willing to help, Romania has many things that are tied to its culture and are hard to understand when you’re a foreigner.

Stunning countryside all around you in the foothills of the Carpathians. Walking trails through traditional farming and mountain scenery. A visit to the Libearty Sanctuary plus opportunity to see bears in the wild. Entry requirements vary depending on your destination and nationality.

Sibiu, a Saxon town founded about 800 years ago, is probably the most beautiful city in Romania. In 2007 it was designated to be the cultural capital of Europe. This meant a huge investment in the city which enabled it to recover its lost glory.
Turn back time and descend in to the dark ages on this tour of Dracula’s country. Medieval castles stand beside heavily fortified towns frozen in time. From ancient Byzantine churches in one town to Ottoman Mosques in the next you will be charmed by the country so raw and real right in front of you. We spend the whole day exploring this charming town together. This afternoon we discover the medieval parts of Brasov, including the Black Church, Rope Street and the Schei district as part of our guided tour. The following morning I learned more about the history of Sibiu on a 2-hour walking tour.

Discover the United Kingdom & Europe on a bespoke walking tour with Walkers' Britain. Take your private group on an affordable walking or cycling trip.

On the way, you will pass through Alba Iulia, the original capital of Romania. I strongly advise you to take a break and visit the cobble-stoned citadel, if only for one hour. There is also a cable car, which you will pass by, once you begin your ascend on-foot, on the paved road of the fortress.
The Danube is the second longest river in Europe after the Volga, which flows through central Russia. Classified as an international waterway, the Danube originates in the town of Donaueschingen in the Black Forest of Germany. It then flows southeast for almost 3,000 km passing through four Central European capitals before emptying into the Black Sea.

There are a number of national parks that are popular with locals and tourists alike. Apuseni National Park, Fagaras Mountains, Bucegi Mountains, Piatra Craiului Mountains and National Park, and Retezat National Park are all among the most-visited places to enjoy views above the clouds. For snow sports or other winter activities, be sure to visit Poiana, just outside of Brasov. The best way to get a truly authentic experience is, of course, to make some local friends and get yourself an invite to their home. This may not be feasible if you’re only planning a short visit, though.
Bucharest likes big things – the tour will also stop by the huge Piata Unirii, one of Europe's largest squares, and continue on to the ‘Ceausima’, Bucharest's 12-storey Palace of Parliament. I was a solo traveler on this trip and found the tour and hotels very good. On the way to Brașov, stop at Prejmer for one more fortified church.
Romania is also home to some sweeping landscapes and layered, distinctive cities. On arrival in Bucharest, transfer to the Castle Hotel Daniel (approx 3.5 hour drive). Said break has them hopping aboard a luxury cruise, exclusively for not-so-imaginary creatures, and seeing all kinds of dazzling new sights. (No, we’re not just talking about Drac’s lairy Hawaiian shirts).

The city of Turda is located about 35 km from Cluj-Napoca and can be a first stop on your trip from Transylvania. Turda Salt Mine is the largest salt mine in the country, where you will discover a fascinating museum and a real amusement park located at a depth of over 42 meters. And if you choose this route ice hotel Romania in the warm season, don't miss the Turzii Gorges, a rocky gorge with special landscapes. Are you planning a new car trip in the Transylvania area and you are not sure what tourist attractions to visit? Well, we have prepared for you a top 5 places that are worth seeing if you go through Transylvania.

And this makes the little town a must stop in any vampiric trip to Transylvania. The guided tour of Sibiu old town is not usually including the lower town. But at our guest request, we can include that part of Sibiu in our tour. Most of the touristic attractions are located in the upper town so we don't want that the walk will be too long.
There is also an impressive armoury, filled with over 4,000 pieces of weaponry from Europe and Asia. I visited Bucharest on a short city break back in February 2020 and it left me wanting to explore more of Romania. Fast forward to September 2021 and I was lucky enough to revisit Romania on a week-long tour. I'm a solo female traveler with a wandering soul that's just making the most of this human experience. I've been traveling slow over 10+ years and have experienced over 70 countries.

Take a stroll up the main road, admiring the pastel facades of the traditional houses, towards the Viscri Fortified Church. Here I learned about the connection between Prince Charles of Wales and Viscri. He owns an 18th century guest house here and actively campaigns for preserving the Romanian countryside heritage. The trip will continue with a walk in the village of Viscri.
The fortified church of Prejmer is one of the most frequented fortified church in Transylvania. Enjoy a circuit walk beneath the wilder side of this most impressive mountainscape. Follow a gentle trail alongside a small stream to reach a clearing where there is an igloo style shelter.

We chat to seven of our tour managers about their most shocking, memorable, and downright hilarious moments abroad. Take a peek at the UNESCO listed old town of Krakow, as well as its unique salt mine that plunges deep underground. The stunning medieval castle is an impregnable fortress, with an inner courtyard, and some lovely tea rooms, serving some delicious Dracula-themed treats. By submitting your email address you are opting in to receive mailings from Leger Holidays.
The survey results are based on responses from the 1,283 who said they were considering a holiday abroad. Located in an exceptionally lovely valley, hillsides striated with terraces for vines, the splendid Gothic church of Biertan soars above its formidable fortifications and the charmingly modest village below. The village church at Mălâncrav is celebrated for the remarkably well-preserved murals of 1421.

Then we will head to Biertan, another village hidden among the rolling hills of Transylvania. We will visit the village and the impressive fortified church, UNESCO site. We will discover the secrets of the church and enjoy a first-hand view of the village from a nearby hill. This price is valid for a group of 7 persons and for an average price of accommodation of a maximum of 60 EUR/night for a double room, including breakfast. Please see below the price per person, depending on the group size.

I also wanted to let you know that it was really nice to meet the people from Transylvania Live during our party in Turda. The itinerary of theVampire in Transylvania – Dracula tourwas a major source of inspiration for a documentary that was broadcast-ed onTravel Channel. The main highlight is the Halloween Party including a delicious traditional dinner, an excellent show and providing you with a truly memorable experience. Sibiu, Brukental PalaceA private Dracula Tour in Transylvania departing from Bucharest. The tour includes historical and legendary places related with Dracula’s life and death.
The average temperature of the mine is around 10 Celsius degrees. After visiting Deva fortress and admiring the land of Transylvania from higher ground, it’s time to drive to the next stop or to find accommodation in Deva. Ways to Experience Transylvania Culture in Romania

Четверг, 13 Октября 2022 г. 23:15 (ссылка)

Riding through the dramatic mountains and lakes of Austria we bed down in Hinterglemm for 2 nights where we have a day off to relax or to get back in the saddle for a couple of rideouts.

If you visit in summer, make sure to bring a cap and water and comfortable walking shoes, as there is no shade and the sun is burning on most summer days. There is a soda machine next to the fortress, but there is little shade to hide from the sun.
