Took a well-needed nap at Tempus Taichung HotelFeng Chia Night Market was packed to the brim with holiday-makers. At some stretches, we couldn’t even move and I guess domestic travelling must have been at its peak. Hakka lunch at Sanyi (三義)Next, we made our way to Remains of Longteng Bridge. That was a bad decision because the mountain road was badly jammed due to road construction work and the influx of holiday domestic travelers. It’s been a while since I returned from my fourth trip to Taiwan earlier this year and I’m ready to share with you my 9 Days Taiwan Itinerary around Taichung.
An adorable finger puppet, warm illustrations, and a comforting story about the rhythms of a baby fish's day make this perfect for the very youngest readers. When you look out of the tunnels from the inside, you will be blessed with the stunning greenery of the surrounding mountains framed by the rock. In between the tunnels are amazing vantage points of the river below and the National Park.

Not only high quality products and services enchants people, the social missions behind each social enterprises are also inspiring. You will require a reasonable level of fitness and good health to participate. It is important to note that due to the nature of some of our trips, they may take place in remote areas and can involve long travelling days on various modes of transport. You will then head for Yilan County, the ‘rice barn’ of Taiwan (approx. 1 hour). In this beautiful landscape, the water is clean and there is abundant rain, making Yilan the perfect place to grow plants, tea, fruit, and rice.
Rainbow Village is renowned for the colourful paintings on the walls of the buildings. All of the artworks are completed by Mr Huang who lives in the village. In 2008, he came up with the idea of painting the walls of his village in various colors and designs. Starting from his house, he gradually painted from house to house until he has finished the village including the playground. If you are lucky, you might actually catch Mr Huang in action.

Just one of the tunnels is lit so as not to disturb the living creatures within the tunnels, but you may choose to take a flashlight. Taiwan has its own version of this condiment – Taiwanese thick soy sauce, which as the name suggests, is thicker but also sweeter than standard soy sauce. Travel southward to Chiayi to visit the Hsin Hsin Cement Factory. This factory sits empty and unused, on land that has now been turned into a forest recreation area. Explore the giant spaces inside the factory, silent and still. You will return to your hotel and have the evening at leisure.
While I paddle out, I’m amazed at the abundance of vibrantly hued marine life. The coastline is fringed by hectares of coloured coral reefs and sandy beaches, and the diving and snorkelling around Rote is truly exceptional due to the large numbers of manta rays and dugongs. In Montanita it's not uncommon to be surfing with dolphins, whales and other beautiful wildlife. “I’ve been there four times and the surf scene is getting bigger each time. The locals are so stoked to watch you surf and show you around and are psyched to show you their culture,” he says.

Don’t forget, you’ll be lugging your luggage around while making these transfers. Having a car definitely helps shave off inconveniences and public transport costs. Another benefit of self-driving is how it allowed us to explore attractions located along the way, between Taoyuan Airport and Taichung. While Taipei is well connected by buses, MRT and train, it’s a little harder to explore Taichung using public transport.

If you’re looking for a place where you can just close your eyes for an hour and have someone work out the knots and kinks in your back, this is the guide for you. Massages are one of the ways that I personally love to pamper myself. Not only are they relaxing, but for digital nomads and those like me who spend hours hunched over a computer, they ca be real game changers.
In the 7 weeks I spent in Medellin, I never had a problem and find the metro system very safe. The city didn’t have the best reputation during the 1990s, but it’s noticeable how hard they’ve worked to clean up its past and become a welcoming city for everyone. The locals have played the largest role in this, and it only takes a few hours wandering the streets to see this. Medellin, Colombia is one of the most popular places to visit in Colombia.

While you’ll be able to experience a vast variety of international foods in Medellin – the Mercado del Rio is a good place for that – we’d recommend diving into local cuisine. There are some great specialities of the area that you really should try. Parque Arvi covers more than 17,000 square meters, the gondola ride alone is worth the trip, just to see both the views over the city and over the park as you travel towards it. Known also as El MAMM, this museum of modern art of Medellin is located in an old warehouse alongside a newer building.
Each treatment is delivered with a nurturing touch in our signature starlight rooms and customized to guest preferences. After meeting your friendly therapists and deciding on your massage preference, relaxing or firm, your session starts with a 1 hour massage. Part of this process includes a hot volcanic rock treatment which is said to help relieve tension and muscle stiffness. The massage is followed by a full body exfoliation and then a full body mask, you can choose from chocolate, mud or fruits according to your skin type or preference. So when it’s time for your next beauty appointment in Medellín, Colombia, let Fresha lend a hand.

To go from our complex of apartments in El Poblado, Medellín, is as simple as reserving our transportation service. One of the main attractions of our complex of apartments in El Poblado, Medellín, is a complete breakfast buffet. To dedicate yourself time, care for yourself, relax yourself… Our wet zone with sauna, jacuzzi and turkish bath is one of the ideal corners to satisfy a craving of wellbeing. Medellín from its best perspective, this is the view that you can enjoy from our exclusive terrace in El Poblado.
61Prado Hotel offers free motorbike parking and an outside parking garage is available under surcharge. The hotel is conveniently located next to Medellin City Centre, a 5-minute walk from Prado metro station. It is also close to major attractions, including Museo de Antioquia, Plaza Botero and Parque Norte. The hotel was really nice as well as the location, between Provenza and Poblado.
They tangled my hair so bad during the dyeing process, that it took than an hour to detangle the rats nest they created. Most of the time the hairdresser was busy other clients and didn’t have time to keep an eye on my hair. By Glow Nails FacebookWhether you’re looking for a simple French tip or something more adventurous, Glow Nails is one of the highest-rated nail salons in Medellín. All the manicurists are trained in nail health and are accustomed to working with different nail strength and shapes, plus, there are plenty of unique acrylic designs to choose from. They feature plasma-screen TVs, laptop safe boxes and air conditioning. Free wi-fi is available in the entire property. Guest can have a drink at the bar or dine local & international dishes at the restaurant.
Part of personal beauty and taking care of yourself is treating yourself to a day off. Colombian coffee is among some of the best in the world. While the national chain, Juan Valdez is often described as the Starbucks of Colombia that’s not exactly true. Juan Valdez is a national institution, it was set up by Colombia’s National Federation of Coffee Growers. Another great fast food option in Medellin is the empanada.

Nirvana offers yoga and pilates classes, which makes it a good place to work out and stay fit as well as to just get a relaxing massage. Gentle vibration, heating therapy and music therapy are some of the services this El Poblado spa offers. The spa itself is pretty small, with just two different rooms for massages and body treatments.
The only catch is that you must book it online 24 hours in advance to secure your spot. Head to Real City’s website and book your free walking tour downtown the day before to prevent being turned away when you show up. Honestly, the best time to visit Medellin is anytime! The weather here is very mild and good all year round. Medellin is a safe city for tourists to explore providing you spend your time in safe neighborhoods and at tourist attractions. With that said, robberies do happen, but with caution, they can be easily avoided.
You can now learn about the history of the area and check out some of the amazing street art. It’s the perfect way to see up close just how much Medellin Affordable body treatments in Poblado Medellin has changed and how everything you’ve heard online might not be as true as you think. We loved the tour and especially this stop at the Lights of Hope!

Each lab puts the products from all of the major antivirus brands through stress tests which involve thousands of pieces of malware including hundreds of new samples since unknown malware is more difficult to detect. We recommend Malwarebytes Free as a complement to any of the best antivirus programs, free or paid. It's got a bright, comprehensible interface, a lot of customization potential and Kaspersky's unbeatable malware protection. The program also lets you schedule scans, and its performance impact was so small that it actually sped up our test machine a bit.
However, for most folks, it’ll be worth spending a bit more on Trend Micro Maximum Security, which delivers protection for Mac and mobile devices as well as Windows . The good news here includes a commendably light system footprint, meaning that McAfee won’t use much of your PC’s resources. There are also a ton of features on offer, particularly for a baseline product, and even if not all of them are of the highest quality, you get a lot for your money.

One of those scams was 8 Figure Dream Lifestyle, which touted a “proven business model” and told... You’ve opened all your gifts, and now it’s time to open those post-holiday credit card statements. If you were a little too jolly with your holiday spending, here are some tips to help you pay down your credit card debt. If you want an inexpensive, speedy antivirus tool that does its job without a lot of fuss, F-Secure Anti-Virus is for you.
You expect an antivirus to identify and eliminate bad programs, and to leave good programs alone. What about unknowns, programs it can't identify as good or bad? Behavior-based detection can, in theory, protect you against malware so new researchers have never encountered it. It's not uncommon for behavioral detection systems to flag many innocuous behaviors performed by legitimate programs.

Some scammers may ask for your bank account information to refund your money, then fake a transaction and make it look like they accidentally refunded you too much. To pay them back, they tell you to buy gift cards and give them the gift card numbers and PINs. Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions.See how we test. Resource Center The best source for case studies, reports, data sheets and all of the latest digital content from PC Matic .
In fact, some of these antivirus products are more feature-packed than certain products sold as security suites. Allow-listing is another approach to the problem of unknown programs. This type of security system only allows known good programs to run. Sandboxing lets unknown programs run, but it isolates them from full access to your system, so they can't do permanent harm. These various added layers serve to enhance your protection against malware.

That means it's better at protecting your PC than even some of the paid-for software out there. I’ve been using Avast for over a year and have found it one of the best free software protection devices on the market. We give our wireless customers free essential security features including network-based automatic fraud call blocking and suspected spam risk alerts. Kaspersky Total Security is my choice because of its' real-time defense against the latest malware and threats. Also, because it offers nearly everything I could want in a security suite.
That includes an intelligent firewall, an integrated (TunnelBear-powered) VPN with unlimited data, a quality spam filter, a secure file vault, and some PC speed-up options. If you want more, then NortonLifeLock Norton customer service phone number offers a range of higher-level suites. Norton 360 Standard adds some nifty extra bits of functionality, including an integrated full VPN service, more backup storage , and dark web monitoring .
And the antivirus took a decent score in our hands-on malware protection test. Sophos is a big name in business-level antivirus, with remote management to keep the IT team in charge of security. Sophos Home Premium brings that same remote management to you, the consumer.

We've gathered the top 10 tested products here, along with what to look for when selecting the right antivirus for you, which you can find after the listings below. The combination of good lab scores and a great score in our hands-on malware protection test was enough to bring it up to 3.5 stars. It doesn't appear in this roundup of commercial antivirus products, naturally. Basic paid antivirus software is usually just called “Antivirus” or something similar and annual subscriptions start at $40-60. The software will have essential malware protection and maybe a password manager or a two-way firewall. We cover this category in our best Windows 10 antivirus guide. The multi-device licenses of those two security suites also come with an identity-protection service.

But multi-device, multi-platform licenses for five, 10 or more computers and mobile devices are available in midrange and premium antivirus packages, covering Windows, macOS, Android, iOS and sometimes even Linux. Some vendors offer plans that cover an unlimited number of devices. The good news is that AVG's wide range of customization options and its file shredder and system optimizer are still available, and its interface is open and easy to use. The bad news is that like Avast Free Antivirus, AVG AntiVirus Free constantly bugs you to upgrade to paid antivirus software. However, none of Trend Micro's programs include a two-way firewall or webcam protection, standard with other brands' midrange offerings. Nor does the premium product have the cloud storage or backup software that some of the best antivirus brands add as extras to their flagship packages.
Protect up to 10 devices, including laptops, mobile, computers, and tablets with Small Office Protection. Or are you a techie who understands and the risks of using the internet? McAfee's malware detection has improved greatly in the past couple of years, but it's still not quite top-of-the-line. But the best deal is the Bitdefender Family Pack, which puts Total Security on up to 15 devices for $120 per year. II have gottden several of these "notices" from scamers claming to be from GeekSquad.

One of those scams was 8 Figure Dream Lifestyle, which touted a “proven business model” and told... You’ve opened all your gifts, and now it’s time to open those post-holiday credit card statements. If you want an inexpensive, speedy antivirus tool that does its job without a lot of fuss, F-Secure Anti-Virus is for you.
The password manager and VPN service are fairly limited, however, unless you pay. A merger between Avast and AVG created a combined malware-detection engine that is much better than the sum of its parts. Likewise, Microsoft Defender Antivirus is now one of the best free antivirus programs out there and it comes built-in with both Windows 10 and Windows 11. Trend Micro Maximum Security adds a password manager, a secure browser and file encryption, while the new Trend Micro Premium Security adds a VPN and dark-web monitoring of personal data.

Some scammers may ask for your bank account information to refund your money, then fake a transaction and make it look like they accidentally refunded you too much. Many antivirus products are sold online for much less than their list prices. However, each brand offers basic, midrange and premium configurations of features and pricing, with every step up adding more features. Many premium products include identity-theft protection, password managers, backup software and/or VPN service. However, Avast Free Antivirus caused a pretty heavy system load in our testing and its scans took a long time. It also kept nagging us to upgrade to Avast's paid antivirus protection, and played bait-and-switch with features that looked like they were free but weren't.

Defender has a dashboard, its own scan options, and so on, but you'll never even see them unless you go looking. Overall, McAfee has improved significantly recently, and its identity theft features make it a package to look into - which is why it's now a top contender on our list. While 360 Premium ramps that up again to 75 GB backup and 10 devices. Bitdefender is brilliantly user-friendly, with a polished and well-balanced interface that’s equally suitable for complete beginners to the antivirus world, or experts who want to tweak things. Bitdefender is the king of the ring as TechRadar's best antivirus, beating some stiff competition and doing so without asking for much in terms of subscription costs.
But it does an excellent job of cleaning out malware that's already on your system, as well as removing adware and potentially unwanted programs that antivirus software often ignores. Most significant of all, the malware protection in Avast Free Antivirus is a peg down from Kaspersky's or Bitdefender's, whose free programs Norton customer service phone number also bothered us less about paid upgrades and had lighter system loads. It's the best free antivirus software if you want a security solution that you can set up and then forget about. It's also perfect if you need to protect the computer of an elderly relative but don't have time to manage antivirus software from afar.
And the antivirus took a decent score in our hands-on malware protection test. Sophos is a big name in business-level antivirus, with remote management to keep the IT team in charge of security. Sophos Home Premium brings that same remote management to you, the consumer.

So we’re taking bold steps and painting the town yellow with the new Norton. SecureAnywhere AntiVirus gives you everything you need, really, although Internet Security Plus is our top pick for the most rounded package. And another boon worth bearing in mind here is Webroot’s confidence-instilling lengthy 70-day 100% money-back guarantee. To see the content of this webpage correctly, please update to the latest version or install a new browser for free, such as Avast Secure Browser or Google Chrome.

Some products earn stellar ratings from the independent labs, yet don't fare as well in our hands-on tests. In such cases, we defer to the labs, as they bring significantly greater resources to their testing. You can dig in for a detailed description of how we test security software. Some folks lean toward the newest, shiniest antivirus protection, while others prefer a mature product that’s had plenty of time to shake out any weaknesses. G Data Antivirus is definitely full-grown, and includes quite a few security bonuses.

LifeLock provides its services with $1 Million Total Service Guarantee. Each entry in this list has been carefully chosen for its business features, such as remote installation and central management. The best business antivirus software will have enterprise-level protection against threats, but that doesn't mean they have to cost a lot of money, either. The price per installation can sometimes be cheaper than even our recommended best antivirus packages. To block your spam calls, you will need to download the free AT&T ActiveArmor mobile security app to set up your network call preferences, customize your robocall protection and create a personal block list.

You'll see on the website you can download it for free, but that's just a trial version rather than an all-singing all-dancing free antivirus package. Just about every antivirus tool claims to be ‘lightweight’, but Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus really delivers on this front. So, what's stopping you from forgetting the rest and simply getting Defender up and running? Well, those features mentioned above are all pretty basic and aren't up to the standard of those offered by most of the security suites above. And it probably goes without saying that Defender is only available on Windows PCs - forget protecting your Mac or smartphone – and some features only play nice if you use Edge as your browser. Outside pure virus protection, it features countless bonus features such as multi-layered anti-ransomware, firewall, webcam, privacy protection, web filtering, parental controls, and backup.
We believe the digital world is only truly empowering when people are confident in their online security, privacy, and identity theft protection. You may have heard arguments that if you’re prudent about where you browse on the web, and what you download or click on, you’ll be fine – and that’s true to a certain extent, but we really wouldn’t risk it. Even well-known websites might occasionally be victims of malware being peddled via their adverts , for example, so no matter how cautious and tech-savvy you are, it’s worth having an antivirus app as a fall-back defense. Just note that Sophos no longer offers a long-term free version to new users.

I serve as an advisory board member for the Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization , an international nonprofit group dedicated to coordinating and improving testing of anti-malware solutions. We also subject every product to our own hands-on test of malware protection, in part to get a feeling for how the product works. Depending on how thoroughly the product prevents malware installation, it can earn up to 10 points for malware protection.

It’s true that lab results for Malwarebytes are mixed, some great, some so-so. The company contends that its advanced detection techniques aren’t a perfect fit for standardized tests. In our own hands-on tests, it proved highly effective, earning a rare 10 of 10 points for malware protection and excellent scores for defending against malicious and fraudulent web pages. Some antivirus tools do their best to work in the background with no technical involvement by the user. This product is great for those who want to get their hands dirty, taking an active role in security protection. If you have the knowledge and skills to use them, ESET has the features for you.
It's a name almost synonymous with the word 'antivirus', and Norton didn't disappoint when it came to our testing. As well as the kind of malware prevention you'd expect, the extra features packaged in really add value, too. Do the Norton customer support authors of these articles take into consideration anything except how well they perform as antivirus software? Kaspersky has been implicated in data breeches at the NSA and other government and corporations around the world.
It’s just thing for those seeking a well-aged antivirus tool. If you lost count, if you couldn’t begin to say how many, McAfee AntiVirus Plus is just the antivirus you need. You can use any protected device to extend an installation invitation to any unprotected device, until your whole network is wrapped in protection. Symantec's first benefit is the company's Insight file reputation technology, an effective way to detect and block even the very latest undiscovered threats. Other layers of protection include virus protection, behavior monitoring, intrusion protection, a firewall, and the 'Power Eraser' to remove stubborn threats and repair your system.

Your antivirus utility works in the background to keep out any faint possibility of infestation by malware, but its abilities don't extend beyond the bounds of your computer. When you connect to the wild and wooly internet, you risk the possibility your data could be compromised in transit. Sticking to HTTPS websites when possible can help, but for full protection of your data in transit you should install a Virtual Private Network, or VPN. This component is important enough that we're starting to see it as a bonus feature in some antivirus tools.

To cover five devices -- any combination of Windows, MacOS and Android -- it's $80 for a year of antivirus software. These commercial products offer protection beyond the antivirus built into Windows; the best free antivirus utilities also offer more than Windows does. However, Microsoft Windows Defender Security Center is looking better and better lately, with some good scores from independent testing labs.

Norton provides prevention and removal of computer viruses and other malware. Millions of users have chosen Norton for its reliability and affordable price. Today, Norton takes one of the leading places among all malware protection programs.

And at the top of the tree is Internet Security Complete which introduces an automatic backup tool and additional online privacy features. There’s also a Family Pack version of the flagship suite which ups device coverage to 10 pieces of hardware, and provides 100 GB of cloud storage. Using real-time intelligence from over 435 million Avast users, we prevent more than 66 million threats every day. Effortlessly run smart scans on software, files, and apps to find vulnerabilities, plus analyze suspicious files in the cloud, get threat alerts, and more. AT&T automatically blocks fraud calls in the network before they ring on your phone or fill your voicemail.
That said, obviously, you also have to bear in mind your own particular needs. Our number one pick might not be the ideal choice if you’re on a very tight budget, for example, and you only want to protect a single PC. Or at the other end of the scale, maybe you have a large family with a ton of devices to protect, and you need a package to cater to that. Or perhaps you want a VPN service as well as antivirus, so a bundled package will save you a lot of money on subscription fees. Antivirus applications use what are called virus ‘definitions’ to catch intruders.

With the regular antivirus disabled, its behavior-based ransomware protection layers detected half the samples we threw at it. An exploit detection component scored better than most competitors in testing. Other bonus features include Norton customer service phone number spam filtering, BankGuard protection for financial transaction, active defense against keyloggers, and fine-grained control over startup programs. The G Data website states that G Data released the first antivirus program in 1985.
Read through the options below, and you'll discover how the likes of Avast, Avira, and Sophos rank as well. There's even a highest-ever placement in our chart for Microsoft's very own free Defender virus protection. Yet Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition has the excellent Bitdefender malware-detection engine, which sits just below Kaspersky and Norton in the lab-test rankings. Sophos Home Premium does its job economically, offering reasonable protection from malware at an affordable price. ESET's pricing is per device, which is optimal for users who might have more than a few devices to protect. But if your device count gets into double digits, ESET's costs can add up.

To check a product's handling of brand-new malware, we test each product using a large collection of extremely new malware-hosting URLs supplied by MRG-Effitas, noting what percentage of them it blocked. Products get equal credit for preventing all access to the malicious URL and for wiping out the malware during download. Some of us are happy with a single, powerful computer, protected by a single, powerful antivirus.

After consideration, we canno longer recommend you purchase Kaspersky security products. We've left the reviews in place, with a warning, since they provide useful information. But at least for now, we're removing Kaspersky products from our "Best of" lists. AV-Test’s latest report gives Trend Micro a perfect score, and past evaluations by SE Labs certified it at the top AAA level. And it also failed two admittedly difficult tests by MRG-Effitas. On the plus side, it earned perfect scores in our tests of defense against malicious and fraudulent websites.
The subscription antivirus suite lets you protect five devices , set up parental controls on a kid's computer and run a VPN. All of the Windows antivirus programs on this list have their own malware-detection engines but it’s the features that justify the extra price. An antivirus company may offer a free program, a basic paid one, a midrange program with additional features and finally a high-end product with all of the bells and whistles. However, you can also get Mac antivirus software and Android antivirus apps alongside them as well. Bitdefender Antivirus Plus routinely takes perfect or near-perfect scores from the independent antivirus testing labs, and it has more features than some security suites. A single subscription for McAfee AntiVirus Plus lets you install protection on all your Windows, Android, Mac OS, and iOS devices.

Actually, my bank scammed me also, because they did not tell me there would be a $30 bank charge to stop payment. I did not know that, but they should have told me anyway, instead of all of that cat and mouse smiling they do.

It also kept nagging us to upgrade to Avast's paid antivirus protection, and played bait-and-switch with features that looked like they were free but weren't.

One of the best free antivirus programs may be what you’re after instead. The entry-level program, Kaspersky Anti-Virus (starting at £12.49 UK/$29.99 US), has dedicated ransomware protection, a virtual keyboard and a convenient online account portal. But it's beaten by Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, which has even more features. Any program running on your computer will require a certain amount of processing power to work, which can affect your computer's overall performance. If an antivirus program is just running in the background, it shouldn't really have any effect on your computer's performance. However, when actively running a scan of your system, antivirus software can noticeably slow down your computer.
But it does an excellent job of cleaning out malware that's already on your system, as well as removing adware and potentially unwanted programs that antivirus software often ignores. Most significant of all, the malware protection in Avast Free Antivirus is a peg down from Kaspersky's or Bitdefender's, whose free programs Norton support also bothered us less about paid upgrades and had lighter system loads. It's the best free antivirus software if you want a security solution that you can set up and then forget about. It's also perfect if you need to protect the computer of an elderly relative but don't have time to manage antivirus software from afar.
But, overall, this is a marvelous choice for antivirus protection. Deploying a default-deny computer security layer at the device blocks all unknown executions without introducing headaches for IT. Our global list of known good programs easily allows 99.9% of your applications with the ability to supplement in seconds from your cloud console.

We've got much more about this in our stand-alone guide on how to buy antivirus software. Worst of all, given its middling malware detection and dearth of extra features, there's no convincing reason to choose AVG AntiVirus Free over the built-in and overall better Microsoft Defender. But AVG AntiVirus Free also has far fewer useful extra features than Avast Free Antivirus. While the latter is almost a free security suite with lots of bells and whistles, AVG AntiVirus Free is the quiet, neglected child that gets the hand-me-downs. The program is also very customizable, letting you tweak its appearance and functions to suit your style.

On the historical side of it, Green Island is home to the remains of a former prison of the Chinese communist regime as well as indigenous houses. For spectacular views, follow a short path that closely resembles the Great Wall, which leads to a lookout point. Apparently with the express trains there is no standing room available so if all the seats are taken they stop selling tickets. This can make things a little inconvenient for tourists who have limited time in the country. However I understand the need for safety and ultimately its more comfortable for travellers thjs way.
CBT are always ready with the best itinerary and value for money holidays. I would recommend their personal attention and experienced staff as well as their care and consideration for clients. This is a seat in coach tour; guaranteed departure every Saturday all year round starting from 1 April 2023, subject to availability and final confirmation. Lowest nightly price 台東必買伴手禮 found within the past 24 hours based on a 1 night stay for 2 adults. Other top stays include The Suites Taitung, with an average rating of 8.6 from 1,768 reviewers, and Sheraton Taitung Hotel, with a score of 8.2 from 2,221 reviewers.

We hiked back up the hill along the wide track and continued past the vans to bird some of the grassy clearings at the top. Soon we heard a pair of Woodford's Rails and after some maneuvering and patient waiting we had the pair cross the road, offering point-blank views, the definite highlight of the morning. We got into the vans again and drove down with one final stop producing a close pair of Ultramarine Kingfishers that showed exceptionally well, ending a very productive first morning. Joined the Perth 6 Day tours with Delightful Travel.
Once under-the-radar among North American travelers, Suzhou has become a must-visit destination for those planning the ultimate China itinerary. The National Library of Australia's Copies Direct service lets you purchase higher quality, larger sized photocopies or electronic copies of newspapers pages. Staying right on the lake would also be nice, but its a small tourist shopping town, probably mostly closed at night, and expensive. Hotels that provides free espresso coffee from a machine are pretty common and save time and money. FamilyMarts (some or most?) do an OK latte for about $1.70 – $3 for a double. Otherwise, a milk coffee drink from the fridge of any convenience store is an easy fix. Transfers from the Taipei Airport Station to the MRT were never suggested.
The old railway station in town plays host to Taitung Railway Art Village, which features rainbow-coloured paper lanterns and the works of local artisans. Pick up handicraft souvenirs and check the schedule for live aboriginal music shows. Visit Ata Aboriginal Culture Craft to watch handmade glass bead creation and to buy textiles, bead art and leather goods. Jin Lon Hotel is set in Taitung City and is within a short walk of local sightseeing spots, such as Tiehua Music Village. It also offers an express check-in and check-out feature, free Wi-Fi and a 24-hour reception.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share a great review. We are delighted to learn that you were satisfied with the tour guide’s service, and fully enjoyed the sceneries and accommodations during this 5-day round island tour. There are a lot of amazing things to explore in Taiwan, and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future. I can only speak on my limited experience as i didn't stay that long there. I actually stayed near the kaohsiung main station which is near where the old station was.

The Sanford's White-eye is truly a unique white-eye with its brown plumage and large size. To top things off, a Red-bellied Fruit-Dove flew in to feed on the same fruit, finishing a successful morning. Birders had an early start this morning, heading up to Mt. Austin.
As other people have mentioned, follow the crowd because there are differences when both stalls sell the same thing and one has no customers. I'm after suggestions of a good area to base ourselves in. Ideally somewhere with easy access to major attractions and night markets, but not too busy/crowded.

Taitung City Travel Guides

Beautiful hotels, amazing sites and a fantastic guide provided by Edison Tours. Sun Moon Lake , the Paxific Ocean Coast and Taroko Gorge are all well worth visiting. Having an informed guide to explain everything adds to the experience. Will also view the stream of Taitung suppliers with buyers. The wide array of tourist attractions, agricultural, and special products, as well as cultural aspects of Taitung, will be promoted internationally by pairing people up in real-time through streaming.

Only drawback is that winter sees more rain, especially on the East Coast which sadly is very scenic. For 4 days, you should be able to cover most of Taipei's main things – 101 / Night Markets / Xiangshan etc. We stayed close to Central Park station in Kaohsiung and liked the location.

I want to spend probably at least a week in Taipei alone. Some of the photos I've seen are pretty grass roots, so hygiene immediately popped into mind. 'Round the Island Tourist Pass', costs $1706 NTD, and is a coupon book of 7 trips, can't double back on trips, cannot be used on Taiwan High Speed Rail , valid for 15 days. In places like Penghu driving would be easy but for places like Taipei, Kaohsiung, etc I wouldnt be getting on a scooter or driving.
A real adventure making it eventually to a car park, Hall 3, adjacent to the Taipeh 101 mall. The mall an up market shopping centre on about 5 floors, every shop an international brand. We don’t even bother to poke our nose in, we are far too tight for this kinda shopping. Birders landed at daybreak on Champagne Beach and Vanuatu Whistlers kicked off the dawn chorus. Ten minutes later we loaded three trucks and drove to the Vatthe Conservation area. The thirty minute drive followed a good paved road first before turning down a gravel road winding through coconut plantations and pastures.
The bird stayed put for several minutes, allowing us to enjoy every detail if this distinctive species. Pick-up is available at hotels or metro stations in downtown Taipei City. If the hotel lobby is located on an upper level, please meet the tour guide on the ground level of the hotel building.

Anyway we survived it all otherwise without incident and are happy to be home about midday 17th. Today we have a free day in Taichung and drive around visiting sights in the city, none of which were outstanding. Many of the towns that we drive through today do not look prosperous. There appear to be a lot of abandoned buildings and fairly basic homes, almost belies the fact that Tawian’s GDP is about the same as Australia’s, about 20% greater than NZs and about 3 times that of China.
Stroll the sculptured gardens near the original prehistoric archaeological site known as Beinan Cultural Park. On My Way Taitung Hostel is situated in Taitung City and offers complimentary Wi-Fi. It also provides an express check-in and check-out feature, a tour desk and luggage storage. Kaishen Hotel is located in Taitung City and is close to Taitung Seashore Park.

Top Recommended Taitung Attraction

You basically dun have to worry about the western food restaurant in Taipei, there are plenty, from fast food to steak house, especailly around the main station. Maccas, KFC, Burger king, MOS burger, you can all get these around that region. At the moment just trying to book the flights MEL – TPE, so far are coming up with China Southern for about $1100, or Air China for a little more... You can present either a paper or an electronic voucher for this activity. For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start time of the experience. Get the most spectacular views of the Qingshui Cliff from the water on a sunrise kayak tour from Hualien—a must-do for outdoor enthusiasts.
Deviated from our route to Hualien county, Ruisui Township only once to marvel at the Taroko Gorge and National Park. Visitor headquarters in the park were closed so we pushed on through the gorge. The gorge was created from erosion by the river against the constantly elevating land combined 地瓜酥 with the heavy sub-tropical rains. Marble, which is relatively hard and resistant to erosion, nevertheless relented to these forces resulting in the unusually steep and narrow canyons. By the time Tony co-founded Lonely Planet Publications in 1973, he already had the travel bug.

The Indian Sun is a leading diverse media platform in Australia that caters to the Indian diaspora. Our platform offers a wide range of information and entertainment to our readers through e-mag, web, and social media. From community news and business interviews to webinars, music videos, and live streams, we have something for everyone. Accordingly, participants would be part of these meaningful and earth-friendly activities by just joining the event, looking at the stars, and enjoying the music.
Today in summary we go south mainly via the east coast to the southern point of Taiwan and back up the west coast to Kaohsiung City. A long day behind the wheel, sometimes a bit hair raising but we survived unscathed and my beloved and I are still talking and the relationship solid. Makira Province is the most easterly of the main island group in the Solomon’s archipelago, and covers some 3100sq km. Like Queen Elizabeth II prior to us in 1974, first stop is a visit to Na-Mamaru Village.

Many of us were able to identify several of the fish groups we learnt about the day before, while others thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and taking everything in. Multicoloured christmas tree worms stood out on the coral boulders and feather duster worms were wide open feeding. Abundant pacific banded butterflyfish, regal angelfish, a variation of chromis and damselfish were circling the reef.
I had great time chatting with locals while having my legs massaged due to the amount of walking i did . I would consider living in Taipei if only the working hours there were not as long. Day2 – Bus from Taipei to Jiufen followed by Keelung city night market later part of the day. We took public transport – thus two separate trips not including Pingxi.
Did you simply do a rat test the day you arrive, then head out to explore? Good place to walk around if you like art sculptures. Was reading about it, and sounds like an interesting place to walk around. I'm still trying to work out where to go in Kaohsiung, as the main attraction seems to be Dragon Tiger Pagoda.

Through these activities, visitors to Taitung will enjoy the romantic starry sky of Taitung while celebrating sustainability and polishing Taitung's sustainable tourism. We were glad to be in a mask wearing community, particularly in crowded markets and public transport. Restaurants and department stores accept credit cards. The only sensible way is by car , which will still take pretty much half of your day, and from what I found the route could be quite dangerous for a first timer as some section of the road will be 1.5 lanes.
Can get humid up north and really sunny down south, but generally it's temperate. Taiwan has got so much going for it and so much going against it. The elephant in the room casts a long shadow over what is a thriving democracy and its warm and hospitable people. That shadow of course extends over more than Taiwan and even more than over the Pacific but it is Hong Kong that is currently resisting suppression and Taiwan is possibly the next of the dominoes. The choice of the people of both countries is obvious, but that matters not to the elephant.

The intertidal pools of Tora Village were a delight to wonder across. Countless invertebrates and juvenile fish spread across the seagrass habitat.
This currency, known as tevau, is formed as coils resembling long belts and can reach up to ten meters long . The manufacture of the feather coils is limited to just a few hereditary specialists, working on one island, who are thought to receive their skills from spirits. One man locates the small Scarlet Honeyeater birds living in the rain forest, and traps them using sticky perches. He then plucks the feathers from their heads, breasts and backs. A double coil of currency may consist of around 50-60,000 red feathers.

The best place was Taroko National Park and i think even further inside to Hehuanshan National Forest Recreation Area is very nice too...that area of Taiwan is brilliant for nature but it's on the other side of Taiwan so yeah. My friend went there actually last week and she loved it even though it was rainy and cloudy at times. Night Markets – I only had time to visit Raohe and Shilin.

Government officials took note of this and proceeded to construct and open the National Museum of Prehistory in 2002 to preserve the rare artifacts. Visitors can visit the nearby museum from Tatung Station to see the ancient artifacts that have been unearthed. This re-purposed space now hosts many permanent art exhibits and performers, as well as a tourist shop selling souvenirs for visitors.

Cheap Taitung City Deals, Taiwan

Суббота, 01 Апреля 2023 г. 10:05 (ссылка)

Going to Taiwan at the end of December – this time I'll travel around the island instead of staying in Taipei as I did when I went there for my first time. Tho' the relatively recent modern subway is the easiest to contemplate for getting around Taipei – local buses tend to be cheaper and you get to see more if you're a tourist. Thanks for the tip, I might send you a whim for your recommended taxi driver's details sometime.
So on the way back we staked out the area and promptly found half-dozen Tanna Fruit-Doves of which several allowed great scope studies. Red-bellied Fruit Doves and Pacific Imperial-Pigeons were also in the 台東剝皮辣椒 area, finishing an exciting and productive last day. Meanwhile, others watched the competitive soccer match that unfolded in front of them in the large sports field, organised by our onboard chef, Connor.

We hiked back up the hill along the wide track and continued past the vans to bird some of the grassy clearings at the top. Soon we heard a pair of Woodford's Rails and after some maneuvering and patient waiting we had the pair cross the road, offering point-blank views, the definite highlight of the morning. Knew that Japan had invaded Taiwan but did not realise that it controlled Taiwan for 50 years from 1895 to 1945. Yea good view up there and Lilly takes plenty of photos from all four directions. Wish we could have reached there as the crow flies. There is an outside observation place three floors above and a damper incorporated to enable the structure to withstand earthquakes and the region’s tropical storms. Taipeh 101 was the tallest building in the world from when it was completed in 2004 until 2010 when it was exceeded by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
I remember walking through there it's a bit more upmarket if i remember correctly, more fancy malls and restaurants and stuff, family friendly. I think Daan Forest Park has like a playground kid friendly place to play, same with the other park (2/28 Peace Park) i think. Jiufen , jinguashi, Shifen, down to pingxi district to release the lanterns at night, then next day made it up to Keelung City just for the floating duck at the time and then to Yehliu Geopark and then the next day Taipei.
Did you simply do a rat test the day you arrive, then head out to explore? Good place to walk around if you like art sculptures. Exact pick-up time will be provided by local operator upon confirmation. Please note the pick-up service cannot accommodate hotels in Neihu, Nangang, Shilin, Beitou, Wenshan District, and New Taipei City area. Green Island - this island located off the east coast of Taitung offers coral beaches, tropical forests, and fresh saltwater hot springs. However you can also take the red line from zuoying station to any of the other red line stations. So it doesn't really matter if you stay near kaohsiung station or formosa boulevard station in that regards... In terms of pure nature though from what i visited- alishan, sun moon lake, taroko gorge, yehliu, Jinguashih, shifen.
Gets a bit cold when everywhere is air conditioned. Thanks for the replies, have decided to go late October/early November. We're thinking of going Melbourne to Guangzhou, then to Beijing for a few days, then Taipei, then home via Guangzhou. Most signs in dual language, a lot of people either know English, or have a basic command of it.

How to Take a Sahara Desert Tour in Morocco The Right Way!

Пятница, 11 Февраля 2023 г. 00:10 (ссылка)

They generally have dining restaurants, some might even have kitchen on the property. Set in Merzouga, Sunset Desert Camp offers 5-star accommodation with access to a garden and a terrace. Set in Merzouga, Sahara Tours luxury camp offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Personally, I would definitely go for a luxury Sahara desert experience these days. A luxury experience really doesn’t cost much more because it’s all so affordable in the first place. Our budget experience was a lot of fun but we really didn’t sleep much so this kind of wiped us out for the following day.
Would you like to spend a few nights in the wide spread Sahara desert, away from your civilized society and in the company of nomadic tribes? We can fulfill your dream with our highly comfortable desert camps that are operated in the Morocco’s most fascinating location – Erg Chebbi. Even if you don’t hire a local guide, there desert camping morocco will be a lot of locals offering you tours while you’re walking around the markets and medinas. If you go with one of them you may end up completely lost and pressed to spend money. Most of the time they will ask for a tip afterward too. A lot of them will offer to walk you to where you’re going but then ask for a tip.

Another alternative is to do Glam Camp, really comfortable luxury camping options that will allow you to spend the night in the Sahara desert surrounded by dunes in the sands of Erg Chebbi. I would definitely recommend taking the journey to the Merzouga desert, where you can ride camels over the sand to a luxurious tent in the Sahara. The hour-long camel ride was captivating and never became boring. Most tours will include transportation from your hotel to Merzouga, a night or two of camping, and transportation back to your city of origin. Some tours, will take you from one city to another, with a stop in the desert in the middle.
Due to the low light pollution in the area, night photography in the desert is really impressive and the clear sky at night in Erg Chebbi allows you to count billions of stars. If you are a lover of photography and have good photographic equipment, take advantage of your night in the desert to take night shots of one of the most perfect skies on the planet. As a result, the experience of camping under the stars in the Sahara is known as glamping. The range of amenities varies depending on the company you hire and the type of accommodation.

Arabian cityscape with stalls and tents in the market, flat vector illustration. Arabian street with camel and people in traditional clothes. The curves, lines and dramatic landscape of the Sahara Desert, with a bright blue sky and fluffy white clouds. A campsite is set within the dunes, including an outdoor sitting area with carpet, table and cushions, and a tent in the background.
All of their tents are modular, which means they can be opened from all sides, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of sleeping outside. In the center of the Agafay desert, the Agafay Desert Luxury Camp provides a soothing natural experience. This is also a trip where a drugstore isn’t going to be just around the corner, especially if you stay in a camp like Desert Luxury Camp. So, come prepared with the essentials like a first aid kit and any medications you may need or want for a little extra security.
It was quite possibly the most magnificent view I’ve ever seen. I was on a weeklong tour around Morocco with Intrepid Travel and I already knew that camping in the Sahara would be the highlight of the trip. I’m still not sure if our drivers were teasing us or we were genuinely lost but I’m sure we passed the same sand dune on more than one occasion! I have no idea how you differentiate one sand dune from another but the surrounding sand dunes were beginning to look worryingly familiar. You will want warm conditions when spending a night beneath the stars during a hike in the High Atlas Mountains. You can expect an average of 17°C (64°F) at elevations of 1800m above sea level in summer.

The High Atlas Mountains shimmer in blue and purple hues on the horizon and are even capped with snow, depending on the season. Ancient Arabic City In Desert with traditional mud brick houses and people.
In Erg Chebbi, another option is staying at one of the inns located in one of the surrounding cities, mainly Merzouga. This option is more comfortable and affordable but not as adventurous of course. If you plan to spend several days in the desert I recommend spending your first night in a tent and the rest of your time in an inn. Although sleeping in a tent is a wonderfully authentic experience, it’s not exactly comfortable, so if you spend several days in a tent you’ll probably wish you listened to my advice. Some get their electricity from a neighboring shelter or through buried cables from a distant transformer. The most common is solar panels that provide light and hot water.

Breakfast is available every morning, and includes buffet, continental and Full English/Irish options. I’m currently in Wales with my three children and I blog about our Welsh adventures and family life. The coastline experiences a cooler wind and maintains temperatures of 31℃ (88℉) during summer.
The farm within the Atlantic area contains more than 300 of Nil crocodiles , experience the feeling of seeing the giant Anacondas and enjoy the atmosphere of being in a jungle inside the garden. The architecture and the design of the parc give the feeling to be in a forest, offering you the sight of a lot of unique trees and plants varieties. Click to receive special offers, travel inspo, tips, and updates from Viator. The private transport for a return trip from Marrakech costs 560 euros for a 4-day trip and 700 euros for a 5-day trip. The cost of the main camp is 235 euro per person per night and the private camps from 235 to 280 euro per night . Whilst the camp is a sociable place, there are also many chillout areas where you can enjoy total privacy.
There were a few people offering 2 day/1 night tours from Marrakech, but that is the only one other than the 3/2 that I remember. Our tour company didn’t have us bring anything except a small bag with a camera/contact case/jacket/water in it for the overnight part of the trip. The water was especially important, because there was no water source at the camp. Merzouga Luxury Desert Camp was such a great surprise during my time in Morocco. I didn’t know what to expect going into the experience, but I loved it!

Desert Camping

Пятница, 11 Февраля 2023 г. 00:08 (ссылка)

In the midst of the desert, there lies an unexpected oasis, a refuge of peace and tranquillity where fauna and flora may flourish. Frogs and turtles dwell quietly in the oueds, surrounded by water and rocks, in this paradise. The Agafay Desert is distinguished by the fact that it is composed of rocks rather than sand. Although its white dunes give the appearance that you are in the Sahara sands. When you book with an account, you will be able to track your payment status, track the confirmation and you can also rate the tour after you finished the tour.
Offering a restaurant, Merzouga luxury desert camps is located in Merzouga. Featuring a bath, private bathroom also comes with a bath or shower and a bidet. We visited the luxury camp at Erg Chigaga in April with desert camping morocco G adventures tours. A fabulous experience riding very well behaved and trained camels in the desert. Even though we are seniors, we were able to easily ride the camels and enjoy the breathtaking landscape.

A round trip from Marrakech to Merzouga is also an option. That way you also see other highlights along the way such as the Todra gorge and Aït Benhaddou. If you come from Marrakech to Merzouga, you have a drive of about 9 hours ahead of you. Here you can also drive a quad or jeep and sleep in a tent camp. Nice addresses here are Oxygen Lodge Agafay and Emeraude Camp Agafay. A little further but with magnificent views over the snowy peaks of the Atlas, you will find the beautiful Nkhila Lodge.
The sunset and sunrise over the sand dunes were unforgettable, I can't wait to go back to the desert again. We used Morocco Excursions Company for our overnight camel trek desert tour at the luxury Sahara desert camp and it was exactly as we expected. He even helped us to learn how to make tajine and how play drums, I can't say enough about this tour guide, the luxury camp and everyone at the company. This 3 night Merzouga Camel trekking is a perfect option to spend the 3 nights camping in the Sahara desert with drum music around the fire.

I had a similar experience in Jaisalmer, India and was lucky enough to be one of two people at the camp. We didn’t even have a tent, though, we each had blankets and a pillow and slept on the sand! A holiday in the desert is not complete without some Saharan adventures and activities. Close to the well-known town of Merzouga and the oasis village of Hassilabied is Erg Chebbi.
I’ve got my favorites and sometimes they change every day! But here is a post on some of my current favs, and why. The tents are very spacious with a double bed, a couch, a socket to charge your electronics, a separate toilet with shower, old-school travel accessories as décor and heating.
But I asked the tour operator what we could wear while still being respectful as it is so very hot there. Essentially, summer clothes that are sort of modest are a-okay. While I wouldn’t wear shorts in other areas of Morocco, it felt fine here in the camp. When we arrived we were greeted with smiles, lemon juice , and a variety of snacks to nibble on at the main tent. After that, we were showed to our glamping spot and we rested for a bit before dinner.

Most of these luxury Sahara Desert camping destinations will happily arrange a transfer for you from the airport so you can arrive without any stress. However, if you find all the transportation and everything intimidating and you just want the simplicity of booking a tour, I get it (I mean, that’s what I did after all!). Jyotsna Shankar Welcome to Jyo Shankar, and thank you for visiting. In this post I will be recapping our entire 3 day journey with Desert Luxury Camp. Curiously, winter is the most requested season, since it’s when most travelers have vacations and dream of finishing the year in a unique way. If that’s your case, you shouldn’t worry more than necessary, simply take some precautions which I’ll mention at the end of the article.

We absolutely would not recommend going alone into the desert. There’s also logistical ease to planning your trip ahead of time, especially if you know you need to complete your tour on certain dates and plan to make other bookings around that. While you can never completely guarantee an above-board booking, there’s safety in booking through a company that already has thousands of online reviews, and therefore has a reputation to protect.
It is set in the Moroccan desert a bit outside of town. Riad Chebbi has a beautiful interior courtyard where you will find palm trees and a pool. Guest rooms at the guesthouse are equipped with a comfortable seating area where you can enjoy a quiet evening after long walks in the desert. I recommend this warm sweater lined with sherpa fur if you want to be prepared for the cold nights in the Sahara.
All while enjoying views of the neighboring mountains, dry rivers, and stone dunes ocean. And we got a peek into the life of local rural people that we wouldn’t have seen in Marrakech. We passed people riding donkeys and using them to transport building materials, food, water, and more. There were children walking miles to school, smiles on their faces, laughing with their peers, not realizing that this was an entirely different way of life than children in other parts of the world. Men sipping mint tea at local cafes, watching the cars drive by.

Discover the Sahara desert in Morocco

Пятница, 11 Февраля 2023 г. 00:06 (ссылка)

We could smell the tagine cooking from the top of the sand dune, and we were eager to put some food into our cold tummies. We sat cross-legged on the ground, eating tagine, couscous, veggies, and drinking sweet mint tea. “Mom, this isn’t very posh” – JulianWe closed the ‘door’ to our tent in the hopes of keeping warmth inside, but it was absolutely freezing.
Merzouga is a small Moroccan town in the Sahara Desert, it is a gateway to Erg Chebbi, a huge expanse of sand dunes north of town. With our years of experience we learned what are the most lucrative destinations Morocco offers and the best on-site spots to fully enjoy them and take mesmerizing pictures. You should also bring a light scarf to cover your morocco desert camp near Marrakech face and hair. The desert can get very windy, so the scarf will prevent you from getting sand in your mouth and your hair. Bring your sunglasses with you as well to protect your eyes. This way, you can spend the rest of your trip just relaxing and enjoying this beautiful country from places like Marrakesh and Essaouira, both of which are wonderful.

Compost is used to fertilize the garden that is abundant with fruits and vegetables, despite being in the desert. Even the almonds and olives served as snacks are picked from trees on site. They’re a delicious reminder that nature’s gifts are indeed the richest. It’s hard to believe the Agafay Desert is just a one-hour taxi ride away from the bustle of Marrakech’s medina. The moon-like landscape is made of small stones and hills the color of bone and parchment.
The Erg Chebbi’s tallest dune is a 70-minute round-trip walk from the desert camp and a great site to view the sunset. Almost every hotel or hostel in Merzouga offers and organizes their own camel tours in the desert and overnight stays at their own private desert camps. We recommend taking a camel ride in order to get to the Erg Chebbi sand dunes camp.

Historically, camel trains would leave from the Erg’s for the trans-Saharan trade route. Historical tour with guide of the UNESCO Heritage Site in Ait Ben Haddou. An activity full of fun, illusion, emotion and dexterity. The sand bath is a Berber treatment used since ancient times to relieve rheumatism.

Camping in this Moroccan desert is a really fun experience but it does require a bit of planning. Make sure you have a good tent, a thick floor mattress and a warm sleeping bag. Here is a small list of super fun activities you can do in Merzouga, whether you are a budget traveler like us or whether you prefer to travel a bit more luxuriously. Since Merzouga is the perfect place to do many free activities, I really encourage you to try these first. Regardless of the time of the year you visit Merzouga, always cover your head to avoid getting sunstroke. Merzouga is a calm and quiet town in the Sahara, yet it offers a surprisingly big amount of cool fun activities.
At that time, we switch to the noblest means of transportation of the nomads and a faithful traveling companion, that is, a camel. It’s a way of travel that, although recommendable and immersive usually makes a certain impression. It never hurts to spend a little more specific reading time on each one. In this article, I talk about Erg Chebbi, and this is my partner Rafael’s article about the Erg Chigaga desert. We also describe in more detail how to get there, the landscapes along the way, etc. How sad it is to think that this stunning night sky hovers over the whole world, but we can only see it when we leave all other humans behind.

There is a huge difference in the temperature when the sun is out vs. when it sets. The nighttime is extremely cold while the day time is bearable. The reverse is true in the summer when the nighttime is bearable and the day time is scorching hot.
On your final morning, wake up in the desert (I recommend waking up early enough to catch the sunrise again!), eat breakfast, and get ready to leave the Sahara. You have the option to go into the camp by 4×4 jeep or by camel ($20 per person) and you simply must do the camels! The camp is on the far side of the dunes and takes about 20 minutes by 4×4 jeep or 1.5 hours by camel. I’m glad we did the two nights in the Sahara as part of our 10 days in Morocco, and I would highly recommend you do too. It takes between 8-9 hours to drive from Marrakech or Fes to the Merzouga Sahara camps, so it’s a big commitment to come out here! However, it’s totally worth it, and there are a lot of interesting things to see on the way out to the Sahara that break up the drive.

How to Take a Sahara Desert Tour in Morocco The Right Way!

Пятница, 11 Февраля 2023 г. 00:03 (ссылка)

You don’t want to be pressured into a tour, but if you don’t book ahead, know you’re going to have vultures swooping down on you. Don’t forget a tripod and intervalometer if you’re going to try some night photography. If I were to do this trip all over again, I’d stay for two nights!
They then took us in groups in 4×4 SUVs, and driven around the desert. It wasn’t well-communicated beforehand exactly what we were doing, but we morocco desert camping were happy for the excursion. However, getting to the highest dunes, the most interesting attraction, usually takes 30 minutes on the camel.

This makes this piece of the desert more adventurous, less touristy, and more authentic, but also more expensive to visit. The downside is that the dunes are a bit lower in the beginning, so a trip with dromedaries is less impressive here. The ultra-luxurious White Camel is more of a resort than a camp. Its name is fitting because, as Moroccan owner Abdelkhalek Benalila explains, the white camel was once a coveted rarity in M’Hamid El Ghizlane, the desert village in the Sahara from which he hails. Guests at The White Camel have access to air-conditioned suites and a spa that offers a wide range of services, including massages and manicures. Arguably the most unique of the glamping destinations in the Agafay Desert, La Pause was also the first to be established in the expanse back in 2003.
During Ramadan most food places will be closed until late afternoon, however, you can still find some places where you can eat, the restaurant at the hotels, and Riads are always open. If you arrive in Morocco on Eid al-Adha, where they slaughter and sacrifice helps. Shops restaurants will be closed for at least 4 to 6 days and banks will be close for at least 2 days. Overall, guys can dress however they like, but women need to dress more conservatively.

Merzouga is a village on the edge of the Moroccan Sahara that serves as a great jumping-off point for greater adventures into the Sahara Desert. Many people take 3-day desert tours from Marrakech that include one-night camping at a Berber desert camp in Erg Chebbi nearby to Merzouga. A night in the Sahara will give you phenomenal stargazing as well as a small look into the lifestyle of the nomadic Berber people. If you visit Morocco without spending a night in the Sahara desert, it’s like visiting Rome without seeing the Colosseum, or traveling to South Africa and not going on a safari.
I couldn’t stay balanced without holding on firmly with two hands anytime we were moving. Merzouga is not super close to the other major cities in Morocco —7.5 hours driving from Fes and 9 hours from Marrakech. So unless you plan to rent a car, you’ll likely want to book a tour. I know the whole experience is a tour, but it just felt so weird to sit there around campfire and watch three guys dressed up in garb playing the drums.
For the most magical of stays, keep in mind that Saturday is “Astro Night” at Terre des Étoiles. Supervised by local astronomer Mohamed Ali Hafili, guests can learn all about the constellations they’re sleeping under and use a telescope to examine them up close. Young happy couple enjoying traditional moroccan mint tea in... Two Moroccan men prepare together, the traditional tea for tourists under a tent with carpets and tables in the middle of the desert in the summer of the Sahara. You will experience the bustling old cities of Marrakech, Fes and Casablanca and Essaouira, the distinct nature of the mountains, and the bliss of the Sahara desert, and many more.

This hotel is located very close to the sand dunes and organizes camel and 4×4 tours in the desert. Merzouga is a village that offers a wide range of guesthouses, beautiful Kasbah hotels that are decorated with Berber artifacts, and luxurious desert camps. Depending on your needs you will find a place to stay that will match your budget. Merzouga is a town right on the edge of Erg Chebbi, and most Sahara desert luxury camp experiences starts from this town.
The reception in the desert is sketchy, so don’t expect to have full internet access. I was very okay with this because it gave us time to disconnect and just enjoy being in the Sahara Desert with kids. By the time we got to our campsite, our luggage had already been delivered to our tent. Dinner and spend the night in a tent in the middle of the dunes.

You can try sand boarding, Berber drumming, and some traditional food sipping on mint tea for dinner. You can pretend you’re a nomad transporting goods by camel across the desert. Five tents, beautifully decorated, in a spectacular setting in the middle of the Sahara. Rode into camp by camel at sunset, then drinks by the fire outside followed by traditional Moroccan dinner in lovely dining tent.
It really offers so much more, and it’s less than $30 more than the budget one. I also feel like it’s probably a bit safer since you have your own room and can lock the door. The luxury glamping experience is 700 MAD (~$72 USD)/person and the budget one is 450 MAD (~$46 USD). We got ours through our guesthouse in Merzouga, who had their own camels and whatnot. A local Morocco tour operator and travel guide specializing in tours and excursions around Morocco since 2008. You can get to Merzouga desert by your own car, the road is good so you can come to Merzouga even by normal car or public bus .
Every private tent is furnished with Berber decorative details, modern quality bedding, and toiletries. The tents are covered with the traditional Berber goat-hair pattern on the outside. This desert camp offers trekking by foot, on camel, by quad or 4×4.

Camping in Morocco: Experience an Incredible Sahara Desert Camp

Пятница, 11 Февраля 2023 г. 00:03 (ссылка)

We visited the luxury camp at Erg Chigaga in April with morocco desert camping G adventures tours. A fabulous experience riding very well behaved and trained camels in the desert. Even though we are seniors, we were able to easily ride the camels and enjoy the breathtaking landscape.

And if you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen my stories from our recent stay at Madu Luxury Desert Camp. Since its location is ideal for hiking, you can discover many interesting desert sceneries within a short walking distance of the campsite. We want to maintain comfort, in work and hygiene, but eg. Guests in the traditional Berber tents will have access to the nearby shared western toilet facilities.
You won’t need to miss out on this incredible experience by visiting in the summer. Highly recommend this experience with the camel ride in to the camp. This experience exceeded our expectations - it really is a luxury camp - the tent room was spacious and had a shower, flushing toilet and wash basin. This was truly an amazing place, first night of two in the desert at two different camps and this did not dissapoint. Camel ride to the camp was amazing and luxury is correct. Excellent dinner, top notch tent, beautiful lamdscape and grounds.

It was awesome when I initially got on, but after about 30 minutes, my crotch area hurt really bad – haha. I had to get myself together and deal with the pain because the kids loved it and they were having such a great time riding. Next time I’ll pass on the camel ride and take the 4×4 all the way to the camp site instead and save myself the pain – ?. Visiting Khamlia was so nice, the kids interacted with and took photos with the locals. I love to see how these kids bond and make friends with new kids all over the world even when they don’t speak the same language. There are many variations of tours offered, group tours and private tours.
During the morning, you can spend some time exploring Essaouira and have lunch in the city. During the evening, you will be taken to Marrakesh for the last couple of days of the trip. You will have to bid the mountains goodbye, as today you will be visiting the Portuguese town of Essaouira. This coastal town offers many charming delights, including the Gnaoua Festival of World Music. If you are visiting in June, this is a must-visit event.
Traditional carpets are adorned the floors of the camps and the handcrafted furniture are well-decorated to compliment your preferences. The sleeping tents include the blend of authentic Moroccan design and the modern to submerge you in this exceptional region of Africa. Erg Chebbi are taller and absolutely more awe inspiring seeing these tall mountains of sand raising out of nowhere. They are easier to reach so great for families with kids or elderly.

Dinner followed by traditional nomadic music and dancing around the campfire and night under the stars or in our luxury tents. During the cooler months, you may also have the option to camel trek to the camp once you get to the Merzouga desert. Since we were visiting in July however, when temperatures are at the highest, our camel trekking was offered during sunset and sunrise when it is much cooler. Our sunset camel trek through the gorgeous undulating sand dunes was one of the most memorable experiences from our trip.
Mohamed, a native of M’Hamid, is an important promoter and supporter of M’Hamid el Ghizlane, the Sahara Desert and tourism in Morocco. His experience is varied, as the owner of desert camps, hotels, riads, transport and tour agencies, and acquiring and selling the unique fossils and stones of Morocco. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the way and continue to your campsite deep in the dunes. Enjoy dinner and spend the night under the stars or in our mobile tents. Arrive in time for a sundowner over the high dunes followed by dinner, music and night under the stars or in luxury tents.

I’m a single woman too, so we have to find tour companies that are safe for women travelers. The Sahara camel trek/camping was definitely the highlight! Waking at sunrise on the dunes was absolutely beautiful. Standard camps provide camel treks to and from camp and some migh offer possibility of sand boarding for additional cost. Well, there is big differences between standard and luxury camping. Though needless to say some luxury camps are really not luxury, but rather transition between standard and luxury in spite of calling themselves luxury.
Riding the camels isn’t necessarily difficult in the sense that running up a hill is, but it’s uncomfortable, and we were all VERY sore by the end of our trek. The tour is also simply tiring, the pace is very quick and no one got fantastic sleep. As far as time, I can certainly see someone wanting a second night in the desert, though we were very sore and exhausted by the end of our time and happy to head back to town. We did include a couple of the extra stops such as Ait Benhaddou, but not enough to justify taking up more of our time in Morocco for it. We did go through our hotel to book our tour, but I don’t recommend it–we overpaid because of doing that.
The standard Merzouga desert camps are designed for travelers who don’t need the level of luxury provided in our Morocco luxury desert camps. For toilets and showers, they are shared with all the camp. It seems like pretty much every hotel in Merzouga offers their own camel treks into the desert and overnight stays at their own private desert camps.

How to Take a Sahara Desert Tour in Morocco The Right Way!

Пятница, 10 Февраля 2023 г. 23:44 (ссылка)

Some local companies offer bus services from the main Moroccan cities to destinations such as Merzouga. This is an interesting option for those traveling on a tight budget. Traveling with kids and have a few questions you need answers too, these posts below will help your trip run smooth. Instead of checking every single website, I use RentalCars.com, Car Rental 8 and Skyscanner Car Rentals to find car rentals all over the world with just one click. If you plan to park at the airport, visit Airport Parking and make a reservation. I absolutely believe that every family should go camping in the Sahara Desert with kids at least once.
We offer a wide range of adventure trips in the heart of the Erg-Chebbi and Merzouga areas. In addition to carefully designed jeep tours, camel tours, and hiking, we offer fully customizable tours of your design. Berber Lifestyle camp has Six marrakech desert tours Berber-style tents with comfortable beds and blankets. We have a 48-square-meter main tent that we use for breakfast, dinner, and relaxation. We recommend booking one of our ATV tours for an hour or two to get the complete desert experience.

After a traditional Moroccan breakfast, trek by foot to discover Essaouira, the pearl of the Atlantic. You will discover a mix of cultures that reflects the rich history of this beautiful city. Stroll through the former Portuguese port, souks, medina, beautiful beach and feast on delicious grilled fish, fresh from the sea. After lunch, depart to Marrakech for a late afternoon arrival at your riad. Via the imperial city of Meknes, (known as the “Versailles of Morocco”), one of the most important imperial cities of Morocco and former capital of Morocco under Sultan Moulay Ismail. Visit the triumphant arch of Bab Mansour, argued to be the most beautiful in Morocco.

The camping was clearly over our expectations, it was warm, the furniture was awesome and the bed very comfortable. If i come back to the desert, I´m sure I will book again this camp and the tour with sahara services. The pillows and mattress are equivalent of 4 star hotel standard and had a good night rest.
For a highly-reviewed, long-established desert camp in Merzouga, Golden Camp & Oasis is a one of the best choices for a Sahara Desert camp in Morocco. Of those places, Ouarzazate and Tinghir have the most accommodation options and will likely be the most comfortable place to spend the night. Since you’re aiming for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I say get all the way out to the Sahara Desert — you won’t regret it. I’ll also give you a quick run-down of what to expect at your Sahara Desert luxury camp, so you can be prepared. We stopped to have delicious Moroccan mint tea in the middle of the desert and then headed back to camp.
Getting into the depths of the desert by camel is the quintessential experience. We are traveling to Morocco for the first time in June 2023 and your information has been invaluable. I’m Kiki, a California native, who left my career in corporate finance to become a world traveler. Since then, I’ve traveled to over 70 countries and have knocked some big adventures off my bucket list. There are many hotels to choose from in Skoura, and you can find something that fits in with your budget. We opted for a beautiful stay at L’Ma Lodge and would say we both absolutely loved it.

We had tea with the patriarch of the family and played with a cute little girl who was very interested in the group of Westerners visiting her home. This was my first time at a Morocco desert camp so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. After that, we switched to 4x4s in which to traverse the length of desert that leads to the camp. Kevin and I shared a double tent, and there were also triple tents available with twin beds. Additionally, visitors can listen to Berber music and drumming around the campfire. An unforgettable experience in Morocco’s mysterious Sahara desert is a treasured memory for everyone.

For campsites in Merzouga that serve up a highly-rated breakfast, try Merzouga heart dome-tour, Secret du Sahara and Floriste Luxury Camp. Situated in Merzouga, Merzouga heart dome-tour features 5-star accommodation with access to a garden and a terrace. Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the camping free of charge. Located 500 metres from Camel Trekking Sahara Tour, Luxurious Merzouga Desert Camp offers accommodation with a terrace.
This popular tour has been reviewed nearly 2000 times, and follows essentially the same pattern our tour did . The right answer, I believe, depends fully on your travel style, experience, and expectations. Either way, though, the camels definitely added to the atmosphere.
Suggested tours Desert Break in Morocco

Пятница, 10 Февраля 2023 г. 23:43 (ссылка)

To make this job easy relying on the tour companies is recommendable. Also as per your preference you can opt for private or main camps. The private luxury camp can offer you a chance to indulge yourself in the serene midst of sand dunes. This can be reserved for unique purposes, especially if you are in need of ultimate privacy. However, it can be an ideal choice for honeymoon as every newly wedded couple needs peaceful and serene atmosphere. To get even close to the sand dunes of Erg Chigaga, you need a 4×4 and some really good GPS directions, as well as knowledge of navigating rough and sandy terrain.
The sand dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga are really soft so you shouldn’t fear falling down. This is also a great activity to do with kids but make sure to cover your eyes with goggles desert camping morocco to avoid getting sand in them. This company is called Morocco Desert Stargazing and they organize awesome trips to the desert where you can watch the stars from their telescopes.

You must be thinking about taking one of these luxury camps if you're reading these reviews. My recommendation is to quit searching and reserve this one right now. Our journey in Merzouga and our stay at this camp were the highlights of our trip to Morocco. Our goal is to take you camping away from the crowds and provide you with the ultimate desert safari. We offer small desert camps in the Moroccan Sahara and the location special for yoga classes.
For me experience we drove to the desert and I don't remember it being boring or anything. We stopped off at places along the way and I remember the journey being really enjoyable. Maybe see if you could do a helicopter one way and a car transfer the other way? I'd also stay in Morocco for the whole holiday - there's loads to see and do in Morocco and it's such a gorgeous country.

This has been the highlight for so many tourists during a Morocco desert trip. The camps can offer utmost relaxation and fantastic spectacles of sand dunes and the deserts. Obviously, you’ll get tons of tea, tagines for dinner, and breakfast after enjoying the sunrise.
Just one example I’ll give is that he kept talking over us, even when I first spoke with him on the phone. I remember asking him the cost of the camp multiple times before he finally told me. We opted out of taking the camels back and instead took a jeep back, which was much kinder to our thighs and bums. The stars in the desert really are something else, and it reminded me of stargazing in the Atacama Desert, though much warmer.
If quality and comfort are important to you, book well in advance. The Oxygen Lodge Agafay is a spectacular luxury desert camp set in the middle of Morocco’s Agafay Desert, about 35 minutes from Marrakech. Terre des Étoiles will provide you with an unforgettable desert experience! The camp, designed by Pierre-Yves Marais, encourages guests to immerse themselves in the unique accommodations and intriguing surroundings. Guests enjoy perfect intimacy and the ability to thoroughly unwind in a tent that combines traditional and modern amenities. One of the most fundamental aspects of Berber culture is desert camping.

After a while enjoying the tea, snacking, exploring the dunes, and chatting with Mustapha about life in the Sahara, we headed back to camp. We ended up choosing Desert Luxury Camp, one of the only camps farther into the dunes in Merzouga. You do have to access by 4×4 similar to the Erg Chigaga camps, as we went off-roading for a few miles probably before we reached the camp in the dunes. I don’t do well with heat, which made me a little bit nervous about going to the Sahara in general. So, having access to an ice-cold pool during the day when the AC wasn’t running made me so much more comfortable with the trip as a whole.
Though they aren’t as tall as those at Erg Chebbi, they do cover a larger area and they’re quiet. As they are about 60 kilometres from the nearest road, I wouldn’t want to attempt to get to the desert camp on my own. As it was, we got stuck as did another vehicle and had to be winched out.

The Private Camp is designed for those who enjoy the peace that utter silence can afford. Get away for a day or two and revel in the luxury atmosphere, reflecting or taking walks in one of the most enchanting Sahara Desert of the world. The Agafay Desert is often used as a calming day trip from the bustling alleyways and crowds of that popular city. The aim isn’t just to create a lodging experience, though, but a creative, imaginative, playful one drawing inspiration from this natural environment. To visit the Sahara Desert in Morocco is a mystical exotic dream for many people.
The other two deserts by definition of receiving less than 10 inches of precipitation per year are Antarctica and the Arctic. In Morocco the Sahara Desert is located in Merzouga, and it is also referred to as the Ergg Chebi Dunes. For drivers 150 to 300 dirhams per day depending on the tour and the service received. For families, we offer children sharing a tent with parents and aged 5 to 11 a 50% discount, and a 25% discount for those aged 12 to 17.

Desert Camping

Пятница, 10 Февраля 2023 г. 23:39 (ссылка)

Waving a fond farewell to the solitude of the Agafay, you’ll carry onto your final stop, high up in the Atlas Mountains. But before you can settle in at your luxurious Kasbah, you’ll spend the day hiking through the Atlas Mountains, discovering local Berber villages and enjoying lunch alongside some locals. Having soaked in the panoramic vistas, check in at your home between the palm groves, Kasbah Tamadot, for a final three nights of bliss, best spent by the fireside bar and serene infinity pool. Cosied up in one of the luxuriously decked-out Berber tents, your love affair with Morocco will be sealed. We spent about an hour taking in the view, shooting photos and chatting with our guide before heading back to camp. Morocco Sahara Desert Camps: How to Choose

Пятница, 10 Февраля 2023 г. 23:38 (ссылка)

The camels lanky legs do an awful lot of wobbling as they make their way up and over and down the sand dunes. My butt was killing me after about 10 minutes into the 90 minute journey. Getting from the main road to our specific campsite was about a two mile journey over towering sand dunes, which meant about 90 minutes via camel transit.
Their team of local staff took such good care of us, was always asking if we were comfortable and if we needed anything, and the food was amazing. Literally every meal we were served enough food for five people and struggled to make a dent. Because we didn’t go through one of the larger Marrakech tours we were the only two people on our camel trek into the desert. Now, we had only heard luxury desert camps morocco about Sahara tours leaving from Marrakech, so at first we thought we would have to go all the way to Marrakech from Fes and then down to Merzouga, which would have been insane. But then it turned out there actually is a bus from Fes straight to Merzouga, phew! So instead of booking a full desert tour we headed to Merzouga on our own and then sorted an independent desert trek from there.

Makeup Wipes & Dry Shampoo– Although this is a luxury camp, you are still in the middle of the desert, so there is no running water. We were picked bright and early from Fairmont Marrakech by our driver Hassan. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, courteous, patient and also catered the tour towards how we wanted it (based on where I wanted to make pitstops for all the photos!). Anush and I felt comfortable and safe that we were in good hands throughout our journey with a very competent driver guide.
And when they asked if we wanted to spend an extra 25 Euro to upgrade to “luxury camping”, we were like, “duh.” The experience did not disappoint. Camping at Indiana Beach is as close to real camping as I’ve ever been. Not exactly roughing it.I’m pretty sure the closest I’ve gotten to actual camping was when we hiked the Inca Trail for four days. That which was true camp living, but our amazing porters carried and pitched our tents, cooked us three-course meals, and even carried around a toilet for us. Like I said, we took a Supratours bus overnight from Fes, and then a shuttle bus from Merzouga to Ouarzazate.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of cinema’s most famous film franchise, we are proud to have been selected as the official travel partner to curate James Bond inspired trips. The two main dune areas here that are popular to camp at are – Erg Chebbi and Erg Chigaga. We opted to do a 3 day, 2 night tour with Desert Luxury Camp. If truly getting away from it is important, then stress this and insist on a camp deep in the Merzouga desert. The trek itself to the desert camp will take about one hour from Merzouga. For the ride, stick your water bottle close by and keep your camera handy for photos of the chain of the camels’ shadows on the the sand.
What we enjoyed and adventured is the camel ride in sand to see the sunset and well as the experience of ATV Quad biking in the morning. Thank you very much fo the friendly staff in Zahra Camp who take care to us. Deep in the dunes of Erg Chebbi lies Berber desert camps of kinds; from bare-bones and basic, to the ultra-luxurious. Before my trip to Morocco, I spent hours researching luxury desert glamping in search of the best camp.

If you want to have a tension free trip to morocco, then hiring a well communicated tour guide is a favorable alternative for you. You have to choose such a tour guide that has better communication and also suitable knowledge about the tribal people like Nomadic in Tuareg . Therefore you have a golden opportunity of grabbing the skill of local culture by spending your enormous time with the locality people.

After a long but pleasant journey, we arrived at the entry of the dunes where we hopped on, to an adventure we will never forget! We won't explain the details so that you can discover this amazing experience by yourself. The Luxury Double Tent is a great choice for couples in love. Choose this luxurious tent and spend special nights on your honeymoon.
Camping, and in Morocco in the Sahara desert, is really a dream of mine. It is only 5 minutes’ drive from Merzouga Lake and features a library, a sun patio, and a sun deck. The Sahara Desert captures the imagination of many people, and once there, you’ll understand why.

The local guides have built relationships with many different stores, and they are most likely getting a cut of the sales. Don’t be fooled when they say they are trying to help you haggle to get the best price, because they usually aren’t. Know what you’re willing to pay before you start the haggling process and walk out if you can’t get the price you want. This fortified walled city was built right on the caravan path between Marrakech and the Sahara and was once a thriving trading post during the 17th century. According to Greek mythology Tangier, or Tingi, was founded by the giant Antaeus. Tingi is mentioned by Carthaginian travelers as early as 500 BC, and Phoenician sailors visited even earlier. Melilla's fortified old town is the main focus of most of the town's sightseeing.
It’s this very history and culture that attracts tourists here from far and wide. In fact, Tangier is what had inspired famous works like Paul Bowles’ The Sheltering Sky as well as William Burroughs’ Naked Lunch. Other than the historical vibes, you’ll also find some remaining bohemian cafes and louche bars here to chill here located in the midst of the famous places to see in Morocco. Showing off its battle scars with pride, this busy and bustling port city has turned into one of the top places to visit in Morocco. Places To Visit In Morocco 2023: Tourist Attractions & Things To Do!

Четверг, 10 Февраля 2023 г. 01:00 (ссылка)

The museum documents the traditional crafts of the region, incorporating Marrakesh, the banks of the Tensift River and the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas ranges. The Miaara Jewish Cemetery has a special place in Jewish culture, as the burial place of many tzaddikim . An ornate mausoleum, with a carved cedar roof and detailed stucco mouldings, is reserved for the president of the city’s Jewish community. Men will be given a yarmulke to wear as they go in, to be faced by a field of long, whitewashed tombs, most worn down over time but some keeping their triangular outline.
If you’re in need of a souvenir or two to take home, you’ll find everything from artisan crafts and clothing to spices and rugs at the sprawling Souk El Had market. Sidi Ifni is a charming coastal town in southern Morocco. With its white-washed buildings, scenic beaches, and laid-back atmosphere, it’s the perfect destination for travelers looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Overall, the Merzouga desert offers a unique and unforgettable travel experience, combining stunning natural beauty with a rich cultural heritage.

After a hard day’s sightseeing, head to a hamman to be steamed, soaped, scrubbed, and massaged into a state of total relaxation. Wherever you go, you’ll emerge squeaky clean with baby-soft skin. Moroccan cuisine is a genuine melting pot – alongside Amazigh influences, Arabs, Moors, Ottoman Turks, and French all left their culinary mark. In Fez, Morocco’s oldest imperial city, time appears to have stopped. Dating back to the 8th century, Fez El Bali – the world’s largest living medieval medina – is a jumble of souqs, workshops, and mosques, with a tangle of more than 9,000 narrow alleyways to explore. There’s certainly no shortage of things to do – here are some of the best.
We decided we didn’t want to pay 300 DH to get into a club that already appeared like a sausage fest from the outside. Although most Moroccans are Muslims, yes, they still have all these. Bucket List Hashish, an extract of the cannabis plant, is quite commonly offered to you in the streets. At least a third of our group wasn’t feeling well after the first meal in Morocco.

On Sundays, there’s also a much bigger weekend market just outside the city walls. It’s near the future university district which is currently under construction. You can buy everything here including livestock such as camels and goats. Alternatively if you happen to be visiting Taroudant Morocco in a motorhome or campervan, there is a basic campsite. It’s right outside the city walls, literally just through the gateway Bab Lkhmis on Av. Owing to its location in the extremely fertile Souss valley, the main source of income around these parts still comes from farming.
The earthy clay brick buildings of Aït-Benhaddou are nestled at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. This fortified walled city was built right on the caravan path between Marrakech and the Sahara and was once a thriving trading post during the 17th century. However, its most striking feature is the 690-foot minaret. Not only is it decorated in chrome, green, and blue tiles, but it’s also retrofitted with a laser beam, which shines in the direction of Mecca.
Savour the picturesque views of the Draa Valley, which stretches from the city of Ouarzazate into the desert. The people are also super friendly, so you will surely get to revel in some sweet hospitality here that makes this one of the top places to visit in Morocco. Don’t forget to check out the secluded and quiet Ras El Maa, one of the most fascinating and secret places to visit in Morocco. Being North Africa’s highest mountain range, High Atlas is popularly known as the mountain of mountains.

The rustling date palms and cool mud-brick castles of Zagora, Tamnougalt, Timidarte and Agdz must once have seemed like mirages after two months in the Sahara. Fortifications that once welcomed gold-laden caravans are now open to overnight guests, who wake to fresh boufeggou dates, bread baked in earthen ovens and a slower pace of life. A gateway to Africa, Morocco is a country of dazzling diversity. You'll find rugged mountain ranges, rolling deserts, ancient cities, deserted beaches and warm hospitality. I’ve visited this country at both these times and found it the perfect mix between good tourist numbers and the best climate range across the board. If you’re looking to travel across Morocco, visiting several regions, then I recommend either the Spring (March & April) or Autumn months (September & October) as the best all-round times to visit.
The Sahara Desert is a magical place to spend a few nights. Use the eastern town of Merzougaas your gateway to the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes . From here, you can book a camel safari or a 4x4 tour, both of which offer the chance to spend the night under the stars or in a traditional Bedouin village. Sunsets and sunrises are spectacular in the desert, transforming the dunes into dreamlike landscapes of ochre and red. After dark, the stars are blazing constellations unspoiled by the pollution of civilization. Keep an eye out for nocturnal desert creatures, including the jerboa and the fennec fox.

This central, peaceful family run hotel has a perfect combination of traditional Moroccan style with modern comforts.
I’ve been to a lot of Roman ruins in my travels, but this one is my favorite. This old and powerful city is one of the best places in the country. Its narrow streets are filled with wonderful aromas, mosques, craft shops, and crowds upon crowds of people. Though Fez can be a bit overwhelming, once you get used to the pace of the city, it’s simply magical. Walking around Chefchaouen is like stepping into a dream.
This is surely among the best places to visit in Morocco. Despite its old age and architecture, Meknes makes its way to the list of the top best places to visit in Morocco. It is located in the north of Morocco, and is a 9th-century medina and also one of the country’s previous capitals. The Atlas Mountains stretch over 1,500 miles, from the west coast of Morocco toTunisia.

Right on the district's edge, Avenue Hassan II follows the 17th-century defensive wall separating the modern city from the medina. Mohammed VI Museum of Contemporary ArtsFor anyone interested in Morocco's modern art movement, this museum is one of Rabat's top things to do. This makes it very different to the medinas of Fes and Marrakesh. For a good overview of the entire Chellah ruins, an overlooking terrace provides excellent views across the site. Chellah NecropolisThe remnants of the 14th-century Merenid citadel-town of Chellah are an atmospheric place. Inside the 11th-century fortress walls is a small neighborhood of winding lanes rimmed by Andalusian-style houses.

It is taught in schools, so their fluency is pretty high. Arabic is also a common language so primarily cab drivers in Marrakesh usually ask visitors in either Arabic or French, rarely in English. Unfortunately, many visitors stick to the basics and don’t explore the full potential of Morocco. They get confused about what Morocco is famous for thinking the country is a desert land full of oases and camels. This is not incorrect actually, but there is much much more. Tafraoute is a jumble of pink houses and market streets with extraordinary surroundings. The Ameln Valley is dotted with palmeraies and villages, and the looming mountains stage a twice-daily, ocher-and-amber light show, while the Aït Mansour Gorge is a verdant respite from the red rock. It makes a wonderful base for activities including hiking, mountain biking and seeking out prehistoric rock carvings.

There are little stalls selling these stuffed crepe-like things everywhere. …in a random village while taking a road trip through Morocco. There are so many adorable villages to just sit and forget that time exists. —Telouet Kasbah was one of my favorite things to do in Morocco. And yes, that’s the wind, this is not staged or Photoshopped. When you go off on an adventure you may come across a stream that your non-4-wheel drive may need to cross.
Fredj Hotel & SPA has a rooftop pool, with sweeping views over the bay; a restaurant; and spa, while its good-sized rooms have plenty of minimalist, modern style. The high-rise and modern Hilton Garden Inn Tanger City Center is a solid mid-range choice offering stylish Bucket List interiors, a gym, and restaurant. In 1679, Moulay Ismail made an unsuccessful attempt to seize the town but maintained a crippling blockade, which ultimately led to a British retreat. The English granted Tangier a charter, which made the city equal to English towns.

It was Spanish territory for a long time which is reflected in the food (paella, anyone?) and historic ramparts. All you need to know about visiting Imsouane Morocco, including how to get there, the best surf spots, where to eat and exciting day trips. If you have additional time you may enjoy taking a visit to the spectacular Palais Claudio Bravo.
The fragrant fresh spices and dried fruits sections are particularly good. Riad Amnay
I hope this helps you get an idea of all of the best places you can visit in Morocco and I hope you’re inspired to go. It’s OK if you don’t know what you’re getting, just buy it. And a bottle of wine for under $15…it’s like a treasure hunt in the smaller towns to find alcohol for a reasonable price. Typically located within the historic medina of cities like Fez, Marrakesh, and Meknes, these maze-like bazaars are filled with colors, scents, and sounds. Discover labyrinthine shops overflowing with Aladdin's lamps and swathes of richly colored fabric, or listen to the vendors as they advertise everything from hand-woven carpets to raw spices. The souk is the best place to buy your souvenirs, but be prepared for aggressive sales tactics and to bargain enthusiastically for the lowest price. M’diq beach resort is popular with day-trippers for its seafront boulevard and excellent seafood restaurants. Alternatively, adventure-seekers can indulge in jet-skiing, windsurfing, deep sea fishing and scuba diving; while history buffs will love Martil, the port of Tetouan and a one-time pirate’s lair. Located approximately 50 kilometers south of the Strait of Gibraltar, the northern city of Tetouan is one of Morocco’s most under-appreciated tourist destinations. It sits at the foot of the spectacular Rif Mountains, in a valley of orange and almond orchards. Tetouan’s history began in the late 13th century, when it was founded by members of the Marinid dynasty.
Located near Tinerhir in the High Atlas Mountains, this gorge is one of the most recognized in the world and has become very popular with travelers looking to hike the canyon. It’s a challenging hike and takes around 4 hours but if you’re looking for something truly different and outdoorsy in Morocco, don’t miss out on this. For an even more unique experience, skip the day trip and stay overnight in the nearby village of Ait Baha. El Jadida is a coastal city located on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, known for its stunning beaches, rich history, and stunning architecture. This charming city has a unique blend of Portuguese, Berber, and Moroccan influences, making it a fascinating destination for visitors. Marrakech is a vibrant blend of traditional Moroccan and Berber culture.

This desert town is the jumping-off point for Erg Chebbi, a hugely impressive collection of dunes close to the Algerian border. There are many great tours offered in Fez but the ones below you simply can not miss out on. Morocco is famed for its many palaces, but one of the most fascinating is found in Marrakech. The glitzy Bahia Palace is a beautiful work of art and architecture that dates back to the mid-19th century.
This family-owned guesthouse located right in the center of the old city will certainly charm you. It’s located amid the colorful streets of the old Medina and in the perfect location to soak in all the atmosphere of the busy market. Rabat and the nearby city of Salé both have beautiful coastlines for those who want to escape the hustle Bucket List Morocco and bustle of the city and breathe in the fresh seaside air. No trip to a Moroccan city would be complete without taking time to stroll around and get lost in the streets of Rabat’s old city center. The citadel is now mainly a residential area and it’s very peaceful to walk around the narrow little streets of this old medina.

Food stalls pop up around the square, and magicians, dancers, and musicians come out to entertain the guests all night long. Even if you aren’t hungry or in the mood for shopping, you can still soak in the magically vibrant atmosphere that pulsates through Djemaa El Fna. Avid shoppers will inevitably have heard of Fez, Morocco’s second-largest city known for its leather tanneries. Not only will you be able to buy a variety of products like purses, shoes, and furniture, but you’ll also be able to see how the leather is dyed. Come for a trek along the dried-up riverbed or for sunrise to photograph the golden, sweeping views. Rock climbers can also trek up the canyon walls, as there are over 150 bolts along the gorge.
Yes, you’ll get hassled in the bigger cities for sure, but nothing that made me feel unsafe. It’s simply all there in the name of art and is pretty cool. Surrounded by desert, a Belgian artist colored a bunch of rocks pink and blue, apparently for his late wife.

From popular tourist spot Marrakech to the quieter coastal town of Essaouira and the arty, photogenic town of Asilah, these are the best things to do in Morocco. Sand Baths, MerzougaAn alternative therapy that will give you a story to tell to your friends back home, a sand bath means being immersed in a dune at the very height of summer. Often independent of its ritualistic purpose, Gnawa music has been exported beyond Morocco and is celebrated at major events like Essaouira’s Gnaoua World Music Festival. You can do just that in Merzouga, and finish it all the traditional way with a glass of mint tea. Now, many people can claim to have cooked their own tagine, but few can say that they’ve visited a Berber family in the middle of the Sahara and taken tips on how to make a tagine the proper way. More than 30 different species have been spotted on the lake’s shores, from pipits to shelducks, sandpipers, plovers, wagtails and storks.
The city of Marrakech is the result of Europe, Africa and the Middle East merging.
