Christine Rosamond (1947-1994) |
A full art career was Christine's at an early age.
While she was an art student at Santa Monica College
she exhibited at a local sidewalk show.
An art publisher saw her work - and the rest is history.
Soon after, she opened her own studio/gallery in Carmel-by-the Sea where she captured the hearts of many.
Christine often said she paints from her own experiences and personal awarenss of women and their lives.
Tragically, on March 26, 1994 she went for the afternoon to Big Sur with her sister and daughter.
While the three were playing in the surf, Christine briefly turned her back to the ocean.
In a matter of seconds a big wave moved in and washed over Christine taking her out to sea.
Her sister managed to grab Christine's daughter pulling her to safety. They could not save Christine.
