Here's what I was hinting at in my last submission - she's not just a bone dragon, she's a Day of the Dead bone dragon! I have always loved the themes and motifs associated with the Mexican Dнa de Muertos and have been wanting to make something themed around it for a couple of years now. I was originally planning to make a sugar skull dragon, but I ended up going with flowers instead. I've taken to calling this dragon Camellia, and she has a felt rose tucked under one horn, while another sprouts from the end of her tail. I also hand cut a couple dozen flowers out of felt and stitched them down the length of her body and across her wings (the flower centers are gold seed beads). Bright and colorful, just the way I like it! xD

Here are some extra angles:


Camellia is approximately 7 inches long and 4 inches tall. Created via needle felting from wool roving, with a pipe-cleaner armature. I think this entire project took somewhere around 9-10 hours. So much fun, and so very time consuming!

I have put Camellia up for sale in my Etsy shop. No idea if anyone will want her at that price, but that's okay, I am happy to continue enjoying her presence.

This isn't strictly based on a scene from the movie or book. We just imagined Sophie calming Howl down after one of his tantrums, and Howl doing some roundabout apology for being an insufferable twit. <3 Hahah!

One of these days, I think I would like to do a shoot of Howl with a cold, based on the book. I was practically /howl/ing with laughter over his antics in that chapter. Help me, someone! Im dying from neglect up here! Howl, please.

Charmander was love at first sight back when I got my Pokйmon Red at Christmas 1999. What a glorious day it was.
Charmeleon was always the one I liked the least but he's ok I guess. Charizard is and was my most favorite Pokйmon and Mega Charizard Y is just as perfect. Mega Charizard X is nice but not my bowl of soup.
Anyway. Charvolution. Might color this as well. I'm already done with the color on Charmander.

This is a little personal this time (also I decided to try the daily sketches again but uh...I'm already behind...). I'm not feeling too well emotionally these days. Mentally, i know that I'm really pretty lucky that I don't have cancer or whatnot, and that it's just a heart valve replacement....but it's hard not to feel bitter and frustrated from time to time knowing that I have to get my blood tested 2 times a week (less as time goes on but...) take a blood thinning medication for the rest of my life, and I have to watch what I eat cause I can't intake vitamin K inconsistently since it might create blood clots and can be dangerous. having a kid in the future will be hard for me... I'm not even sure if it'll be safe for me to get my ears re-pierced cause if my blood is infected it'll be really dangerous for my heart D;.
Plus two weeks before my surgery started I breaking out in hives, and I can't even see the allergist because I'm taking too many meds right now...they get on my face and I'm not good enough putting on makeup to cover it so it looks ridiculously red and patchy ;___;. Makes it really hard going outside. As if the heart disease and surgery wasn't enough haha...
Anyways, sorry, I just feel a little brittle these days and my mood can plummet pretty fast from time to time. Apparently there are psyche doctors that I'll have access to for post-surgery soon so hopefully I'll feel better soon.
Sorry for this, I just needed to get it out cause I'm with my mom all of the time and she's not the best at comforting ppl xD;; (plus she gets all quiet and I feel guilty for worrying her even more...I think she's blaming herself a bit cause this is a condition I was born with; of course, that's ridiculous tho but yeah... I can't really rant to her u__u;; )
