Whooot! Finally he's done!
I pushed myself quite hard for I want to show him at the game fair in Essen as an eye catcher next weekend. ^^
So I finished him at Sunday. There are also LED attached and a hidden button behind the frame to make him glow.
I learned a lot about the materials while working on him but I guess he'll be the first and only of his kind for a long time. ^^"
It was a lot of work. I really hope you enjoy it.

Preparing for exams was pretty hard this year due to the hot summer (try to learn/calculate with 36°C in your room).

I took the mood from the first picture and grabbed the ship theme from last one. The composition was quite tough for the bg, as I didn't allow myself to re-use anything I did before.

Daemon Vitale are an invented species.

This daemon has a citrine crystal heart and its back stands about 6 inches tall. It has coat of high quality hand dyed faux fur that is very soft. It's neck is made with a plastic ball and socket armature that can be posed with ease and will not wear out over time. The body frame is mildly posable; its arms and tail have a fully bendable wire armature and its back-legs bend slightly below the thigh.

Room Guardians are small creatures that protect one's home from negative spirits and energies. These friends can be easily placed on window sills, kitchen shelves, dressers, or wherever to keep watch over the room. Each guardian has a soft faux fur coat and each is individually sculpted from the wire frame to the clay face and hands, so no two are alike. The room guardians' arms, tails, and necks are bendable and Inside each of their chests is a unique crystal heart to give each one a different energy. These little guys have a lot of character and they love having a home to watch over.

1. How did you come up with the room guardian concept?
The idea caught fire when a friend and I were walking through an antique store. On one of the bookshelves sat two stuffed foxes wearing riding clothes. I contemplated buying them because one could convince themselves that their expressionless stares were actually seeing and watching over the room. It was as if they were alive though they were a long way from being realistic. My contemplation came to an end when I realized I could spend less money and have a better one if I just made it myself. This painting was inspired by a single music vid for a song by Porter Robinson, called " Lionhearted " My friend showed me this song and I just instantly fell in love with it. It's a real electronic/dancey beat, so it might not be everybody's cup of tea. It wasn't exactly the music that I fell in love with, it was the visuals and the whole idea of the video. Theres this one scene in the music video which inspired this whole piece. You'll know it when you see it!

It's the sense of rebellious freedom that I get from watching that video. That's what I loved about it.

And just for the record, I can't draw mountains and dirt/rocks for donuts! Holy crap, this piece was actually so ridiculously stressful because I just can't

Himeji Castle [лпО Himeji-jou], which is the most famous Japanese castle.

A tenshukaku [)€Ј] (central tower of Japanese castle) of Himeji Castle was built over 400 years ago. It's one of the World Heritage Site.

There are only 12 castles which have an extant tenshukaku of Edo period in Japan. Himeji Castle is the biggest castle among them.

Roofs of tenshukaku had been under repair since 2009 till spring 2015. (Repair is held every 50 years.)

Himeji Castle has been called "the Egret Castle [}ъО Shirasagi-jou]" because of the elegant white roofs. Kawara [ж] (roof tiles) are glued by lots of white shikkui [°] (traditional Japanese mortal). Therefore new white roofs look pure white. It's impressively shining in the sun now.

But "white" Himeji Castle is a very rare "limited-time" landscape, because shikkui will gradually get black by dust and mold. Maybe elegant white roofs will become tasteful grey roofs 3 years later as usual. The next time which people can look white roofs is 50 years later.

If you will visit Japan before long, I recommend you to visit Himeji Castle and look this "limited-time" landscape.

Traditional drawing of Tom Hiddleston on gray paper. That's my first drawing on gray paper, but I already bought this kind of paper (gray and also black) more than 18 months ago. Of course I use my usual "test subject", when I test something new...
I did this drawing with 5 pencils (black and white colored pencils + pastels and a white gel pen). It was very interesting and fun even though most of the black pastel pencil ended up on my hands. I really wanted to use tissues for blending, but in the end I just used my fingers... ok, now I need to buy a fixative!

Reference was a picture from a photoshoot (Desmond Muckian for the Guardian).

Gray paper DIN A4; Faber-Castell Polychromos artists' colour pencils (101 + 199), Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel (101 + 199), uni-ball Signo pigment ink um-153 white; time: ~7 hours
