When working with choosing colors for your subject matter, its good to understand that its natural to first assume using black and white for the shadows and highlights. You may notice that the end result can often look rather dull and uninteresting. This exercise asks you to bend your highlight colors toward a warm hue and your shadow colors toward a cooler hue. This will give your subject matter more depth and interest. So start with your diffuse color (hue identity) and then mix that color with a warm and cool color to create a new color palette that has a wider variety of hue and saturation shifting rather than just brightness shifting.
TIPS
Try not to overdo the mixing of warm and cool colors, having that subtle effect and transition can be all you need to create the feeling.
Avoid Black and White all together for this exercise.
Keep a basic lighting setup, nothing too dramatic. We want to focus on the color shifting, not on the extreme lighting.
Have fun with the color play, if you want you can even take it a step further into a Fantastical Intuition color selection.
This is a crucial type of exercise to understand how shifting colors and experimenting with them can create a more interesting outcome. So have fun mixing new colors and seeing how laying them down creates a different feeling when looking at it.
These adorable turtle cakes (s‰њ) are made with peanut powder, black sesame seeds, salt and sugar.
In Chinese culture turtles are frequently depicted in popular culture as easygoing, patient, and wise creatures. Due to their long lifespan, slow movement, sturdiness, and wrinkled appearance, they are an emblem of longevity and stability in many cultures around the world. I grew up eating these delicious cakes...I thought i would take a photo and share with you guys

I'm back to my witches and i'm working on Soul the brother of Trick. It is said that he died in a battle but Trick still feels a lite connection in her dreams. She always could talk with her brother in her thoughts as part of a hereditary skill but since that day he doesn't answer anymore. After Souls death Trick got a black box with a white cross on its cover. A note laying by told that box is for her but it is protected by a spell and she can't open it until she passes the last assignment of the School of Dimensions for Mages and Witches. Poor little Trick ...

Over the course of 2016 I'm going to build a tiny series based off what I think could be a fun Boba Fett story, accompanied with art. While the chances of me ever designing or contributing to the upcoming stand-alone Fett film may be slim, this is purely based off my passion for this beloved character, his image, and the history (or lack thereof) surrounding him. To me, a Fett movie should be modeled like a revenge-Western film. Where Fett is an anti-hero, doing something good not for himself, but for someone pure and relatable to his own life.
Try not to take this too seriously, as this is mostly for me, but I wanted to share it with you all. So here's a brief synopsis below and the first image of the series, of what I think could be a fun Fett movie.
Oh and Disney: I'd fight through a Sarlaac to work on whatever movie this is and/or graphic novel as long as it included Mr.Fett. Childhood bucket-list dream of mine. -- BOBA FETT
When a young Twilek girls family and village is destroyed by a genocidal Imperial General and his Death Squad, the infamous Mandalorian bounty hunter, BOBA FETT, is brought back out of retirement for one final hunt. However, now years older and still damaged and disfigured from a near-death situation on Tattooine, Fett calls in his old partners: Fett's mentor, DENGAR, a maniac cyborg IG-88, and a savage beast, BOSSK to aid him on this dangerous journey. Together the group of bounty hunters seek out the ones responsible for this heinous crime, blurring the lines between heroism and villainy, and man and myth.
I had one main guideline for this plush; make him unbearably cute. I hope I succeeded!
Great Jaggi measures 10" tall and is made out of minky and faux fur with a machine embroidered face. I know the in-game model has orange eyes, but I was asked to give him blue ones instead!
Hi everyone! Happy new year! Let's start the year with the january photo of my 2016 calendar - the Ice Queen! You can still get some copies and signed prints of this here: www.laesmeralda.storenvy.com
I am so in love with this series! I made the whole costume myself as part of my "Magical Creatures" project. It took me several days to make all the single pieces and this was one of the first outfits that I shot for my calendar - also one of my absolute favourites! Also, it is part of an editorial that was published in Gothic and Amazings latest magazine issue where I am featured on the cover and also have an interview inside!
