E'la prima chiesa e prima parrocchia sorta in Val Canale, citata come "chiesa matrice". La versione pi`u antica `e sorta dopo il 1.100, l'edificio attuale fu consacrato il 28 aprile 1.471. Di particolare pregio l'Altare Maggiore costruito con marmi colorati cos`i come il bellissimo Pulpito. L'elemento pi`u importante sono le due scene superstiti di un magnifico ciclo di affreschi dedicato alla vita di Cristo. Nel suo piazzale si svolge in primavera la ricorrenza della Maja, l'albero della fertilit`a.

Nel luogo di ritrovamento della statuetta della Madre di Dio sorse una cappelletta e poi una chiesa. Nonostante le divisioni politiche e linguistiche, Maria di Lussari resta la madre di tutte le nazioni, regina d’Europa. Quando entriamo nel santuario di Lussari siamo abbracciati da un ambiente gradevolmente oscurato, con pareti spesse e sicure e con un tetto che ricorda una nave. Dal muro che suddivide il presbiterio e la navata ci saluta a braccia aperte Maria, madre di Ges`u e nostra. Apre il proprio manto come una vela, cui si sono impigliati caldi raggi di sole – di Dio. Con questo manto, che `e simbolo dell’amore divino per l’uomo, abbraccia i pellegrini che giungono al luogo dove un pastorello, 650 anni fa, trov`o la sua graziosa statuetta. Sotto il mantello c’`e posto per me, per te e per tutte le migliaia che ogni anno si mettono in pellegrinaggio.

The Znamenskaya Church is connected with the life of a mathematician, a specialist in the field of number theory Ivan Mikheevich Pervushin. He has served as a priest here since 1856. In 1859, he opened a school for peasant children and adults in the village. From this village Pervushin sent letters to the Russian Imperial Academy of Sciences, his articles on mathematics were published in major academic journals. In Soviet times, the Znamenskaya Church was closed. Now the building is abandoned, it is a beautiful ruin. The walls of the church inside are beautifully painted. The painting has been preserved and even in a shabby form is impressive.
