This view shows the ruins of the Hole in the Mountain Mine west of Smith River, California. An old abandoned mining road leads one to the site. There were two adits though one is clearly caved & the other appears to be mostly caved with a dangerous squeeze if one were to dare. This former chromium mine produced chromite, though it also had microscopic trace deposits of rare earth elements including palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium, & platinum.

Obstructed view from the top of Pocket Knoll (elev. 4,262'), a large hill located west of Kerby, Oregon. The mountain top is broad & overgrown in an open forest that has had some burn. My aerial panorama has a much better view of surrounding scenery.

View from the summit of Point 2,420 west of Smith River, California. The peak is easily accessed from Low Divide Road as it straddles this high ridge, following the old wagon road that went from Crescent City to Jacksonville, Oregon during the gold rush mining days. Here one can see the red peridotite landscape (also hit hard by the Biscuit Fire of 2002). Views of High Plateau Mountain, Pine Flat Mountain, & even the nearby Pacific Ocean to the west.

At the back of the backyard, there is a "side hole" that was used as a storage room in the past. natuniwahttp://natuniwa.com/aboutnatuniwa/The gallery "Natsuwa" is located in Nagara-machi, Chiba Prefecture. The gallery, which is a renovated old farmhouse, is quiet and relaxing. A cafe is also open for visitors to relax. And as the name "natuniwa (summer garden)" suggests, the backyard is very beautiful.
