Lake Maggiore is a popular tourist destination due to its climate, its famous resorts with and many charming islands and villages around the lake, such as: the Barromeo Islands, and the towns of Stressa, Arona, Pallanza in the Italian region, and Ascona and Locarno in Switzerland, where this panorama was photographed. Lake Maggiore, also known as Lake Verbano, is the second lake in Italy, located on the south side of the Alps with an area of 212 km^2. It is divided between the regions of Piedmont and Lombardy in the Italian region, and is the largest lake in the southern region of Switzerland in Canton of Ticino.

Located in the Arg"uelles district, this museum that was the residence of the 17th Marquis of Cerralbo, Don Enrique de Aguilera y Gamboa and his family that, was built between 1885 and 1893 by the architects Sureda and Cabello As'o and later his son Cabello Lapiedra, under the guidelines of the own Marquis, is a type of building based on the transposition of the 'French h^otel particulier'.  Its rooms have a decorative setting that was masterfully recovered in the first decade of the 21st century, a task recognised with a medal from the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra 2008. The different rooms are organized according to the nineteenth century criterion, distinguishing between those dedicated to social life, and private rooms in which he spent his daily life, house paintings, furniture, clocks, porcelain, drawings, lamps, sculptures, weapons and armour, textiles, books, coins and various archaeological objects.

Heute zeigt sich hier ein Gemisch aus alt und neu. Old silk weaving mill Deuss & Oetker The essential architectural cornerstones of the former silk weaving mill were preserved, the large factory hall was gutted. Apartments and medical practices were built here. Today there is a mixture of old and new. Oude zijweverij Deuss & Oetker De essenti"ele bestanddeelen van de voormalige zijweverij bleven behouden, de grote fabriekshal werd gestript. Hier ontstanden woningen en dokterspraktijken. Vandaag bestaat er een mix uit oud en nieuw.
