The Castle of Longroiva, in Beira Interior, is located in the parish and village of Longroiva, municipality of Meda, district of Guarda, in Portugal. Built to the south of the C^oa River, in a dominant position over the village, it is an important testament to the Templar architecture in the region, being part of the Douro Sul Tourism Region. It is believed that the primitive human occupation of its site dates back to a pre-Roman fort, built between the 4th and 2nd centuries BC. At the time of the Roman occupation, this settlement was called Long'obriga, when it would have been fortified. The Visigoths and Muslims would have done the same, who later occupied it. At the time of the Christian Reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula, this settlement and its castle are related among the domains left to the Guimar~aes Monastery, in testament, by Fl^amula Rodrigues, niece of Mumadona Dias (960). Scholars associate this donation with a restocking action initiated by the donor's father, Rodrigo Tedoniz, believing that the castle's primitive features can be traced back to this phase. The parish church of Longroiva is of Manueline style (late gothic)

Walls - Castelo Rodrigo still preserves the medieval plan of a circular square with a wall of walls, which would have been initially built by the Romans, when they would have built a great fort there. Ruins of the Crist'ov~ao de Moura Palace - it was the official residence of Crist'ov~ao de Moura (16th and 17th centuries) who enjoyed great privileges on the part of Philip II of Spain (Philip I of Portugal), for his support in the dynastic crisis. Once the national independence was restored, this palace was set on fire by the population, nowadays in an advanced state of ruin.

The Historical Village of Castelo Rodrigo is a village on top of a hill, which preserves important references from medieval times. The village of Marialva is one of the 12 Historic Villages of Portugal and is located just minutes from the city of M^eda. This village, one of the living relics of our ancestry, takes us to the deepest roots of our history. There are many of the remains of the Civitas Aravorum of the Romans. Suevi and Arabs disputed it. Fernando Magno conquered it in 1063, and, according to legend, D. Afonso II donated the village to a lady who called himself D. Maria Alva. Populated by Aravos, Portuguese people, it was later conquered by the Romans, followed by the Arabs, until the final victory of D. Fernando Magno, in 1063. In 1179 he received the charter of D. Afonso Henriques, having maintained an activity intense- thanks to the fairs that took place there - until the end of the century. XVIII. In the year 1200, the castle was ordered to be rebuilt and restored by D. Sancho I and was later enlarged by order of King D. Dinis. Upon entering Marialva, we feel that we are entering a historic setting, the streets, lined with buildings resistant to time, lead us to the citadel surrounded by the walls in whose ruins we lose track of time. Within the walls, the Praca stands out, solemnly marked by the Pillory and by the building of the old Casa da C^amara, also a court and jail (17th century); a few meters further on, the keep and the Santiago Church with its magnificent painted ceiling and the Miseric'ordia Chapel, appreciated by the carved altarpiece, are true treasures built within the walled enclosure. The population that lives in the buildings outside the walls has on their faces the hospitable look of the people from Beira, initialed by the authenticity of the face wrinkles. Marialva is one of the sixteen villages and parishes in the municipality of M^eda whose monumental remains keep the memory of a very important historical past

Medieval castle with an irregular oval layout with a square-shaped keep, with three registers, straight arrows, a broken arch door at the level of the second register with access through the adarve. The keep is attached to the exterior, indicating that it was built after the walls. Outside the west side, the wall corresponding to the outer walled belt can be seen to start. It was in Vilar Maior that D. Jo~ao (son of D. Pedro and D. In^es de Castro), shortly after murdering his wife, D. Maria Teles, came to seek refuge. He ended up fleeing to Castile, and later fought against the Portuguese in Trancoso and Elvas, alongside the Spanish.

The “Englishman” is a forest house in the Lower Franconian district of Aschaffenburg between Jakobsthal and Sommerkahl on the Spessart mountain road. The small hut was built in 1845 by King Ludwig I and his wife Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. There has been a ski lift on the “Englishman” since 1969. In the warm season, motorcyclists meet in the beer garden.
