In the place where the main chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Rem'edios was built there was a small chapel, built by Bishop D. Durando, in 1361, dedicated to Santo Est^ev~ao. In 1568, the Bishop of Lamego D. Manuel de Noronha authorized the demolition of the old chapel and, in the place where the P'atio dos Reis is currently located, ordered another to be erected under the invocation of Nossa Senhora dos Rem'edios. This chapel was also demolished to build the current Sanctuary, whose first stone was laid in 1750, at the initiative of Canon Jos'e Pinto Teixeira. The Sanctuary building is a Baroque style construction all worked in granite, dazzling by the elegance of the style, imposed by the creativity of the author of the project that is believed to have been Nicolau Nasoni. The hoist is 18th century. The altarpiece of the chancel attracts by its framing, constituting an original painting within the Portuguese carvings, in the center of which is the Image of Nossa Senhora dos Rem'edios. Also noteworthy are the lateral altars of S. Joaquim and Santa Ana. Also, inside the temple, you can admire beautiful tile panels, as well as interesting stained glass windows that enrich the walls of the main body and the chancel. The frontispiece of the Sanctuary is the most admirable part of the entire building, fascinating all who are willing to admire the brightness and creative genius there. All the adornments, so elegantly refined in granite, are admirable.

The grandest picture of the staircase is undoubtedly the so-called “P'atio dos Reis” - admirable architectural work, formed by the Fonte dos Gigantes, in the center of which rises a splendid obelisk, about 15 meters high. This courtyard is surrounded by several statues representing the last 18 names of the house of David. Also noteworthy are the two porches that give lateral access to this wide terrace.

The Blue Springs of Saula (Estonian: Saula Siniallikad) are freshwater springs located in Saula Village, Kose Parish, Harju County in northern Estonia. There are three major springs that produce a flow of 20 to 30 litres per second. The springs are differentiated by their color: blue-green (Blue Spring, Siniallikas), brownish black (Black Spring, Mustallikas), and blue-gray (White Spring, Valgeallikas). On the facade, you can admire three remarkable porticoes of multiple archivolts, magnificently carved in granite, the work of the late Gothic flaming, noting on both sides already influenced by the Renaissance period (see Artistic Treasures). The robust and cushioned doors are valuable examples of Portuguese carpentry. The Tower is a Romanesque construction, up to the height of the bells (12th-13th century), with interesting cracks from the same period, with special emphasis on the notable crevice that opens on the east side (see Artistic Treasures). The top part is already the work of the century. XVI, from the initiative of Bishop D. Manuel de Noronha, who left his stone of arms engraved there. The Tower served as a jail for a long time, until Bishop D. Frei Feliciano de Nossa Senhora decided to remove the prison, "tenebrous, which looked more like the grave of the dead" (Azevedo, 1877). The Lamego Cathedral, built from successive stages, is one of the most emblematic historical monuments in the entire Douro region. It was founded in 1129. It is a cathedral of Roman origin which, on the initial route, received Gothic additions, others already Manueline, maintaining the original Romanesque square tower although it was transferred from the side where in the century. The Cloister was built in the 16th century, but the rest of the architecture reflects the changes made in the 16th and 18th centuries, to the body of the church and chancel, including a Renaissance cloister with a dozen well proportioned arches.

The cloister was completed in 1557, and features four groups of arches from the transition period from Gothic to Renaissance. In this space, next to the arcade on the east side, there are two chapels built by Bishop D. Manuel de Noronha, in the 16th century, one invoking S. Nicolau and the other Santo Ant'onio. These chapels have well carved altars and the side walls of the S. Nicolau chapel are covered with magnificent ceramic panels (18th century) referring to S. Nicolau. The Chapel of Santissimo Sacramento has three magnificent gilded altars by Jo~ao Correia Lopes, built around 1753. Each of these altars has a painting on canvas (18th century). Also in this chapel, special attention is given to the richly carved silver frontal made in Porto from the 19th century. XVIII. Originating in the times of the Christian Reconquest of the region in the 10th century. This chapel would be integrated in a Roman villa. It became a parish seat until the 13th century when it became dependent on the Cathedral of Lamego In the second part of the century. XIV, the Bishop of Porto D. Afonso Pires, chose the chapel as his burial site, and erected in 1362 an altar in honor of Santa Maria. In 1643 it underwent profound changes when it was integrated in the Solar dos Viscondes de Balsem~ao, remaining with the current exterior aspect of the 17th century. The original west entrance was covered by the volume of the Solar, and its entrance started to be made through the side door. On the north facade an inscription shows the reform undertaken by Luis Pinto de Sousa Coutinho and his wife. The chapel of S. Pedro de Balsem~ao is the oldest of all the monuments in Lamego and, according to some historians, the second in the Iberian Peninsula. Its Suevic-Visigothic origin dates back to the 19th century. VII, at the time of Sisebuto (Visigothic king who even minted money in Lamego). In the century. XVII, the chapel was rebuilt, being from this time the excellent carving that covers it internally. Of rare historical and archaeological value, the temple, with three naves, has two pieces from the 19th century. XIV worthy of mention: a sculpture of Senhora do 'O carved in anc~a stone (see Artistic Treasures) and the tomb of the Bishop of Porto D. Afonso Pires, carved in granite. Inside, there are also two rows of three arches on each side based on cylindrical columns.
