A look at Azalea Lake in the Red Buttes Wilderness of northern California.  The lake sits below the craggy Figurehead Mountain to the south & Buck Mountain to the north.  The area was hit during the summer of 2017 by the Knox Fire (part of the Miller Complex) which burned most of the lodgepole pines around the lake & hillsides.

Lake Massaciuccoli is located in the municipalities of Massarosa and Viareggio in the province of Lucca and the municipality of Vecchiano (province of Pisa). It is one of the largest fragments of the large marshes that once covered the Versilia coastal plain. The lake was known in antiquity as Fossis Papirianis, a name used in the Tabula Peutingeriana.
