Giris kapisi ile avluya acilan, Cerag kapisindan T"urbeye, kuzey dogusundaki k"uc"uk kapidan da Sem^ah^ane’ye gecilen Mescid, Sem^ah^ane ile birlikte Sultan II.Selim tarafindan yaptirilmistir. Kalem isi s"uslemeler bulunan genis ve ferah kubbesi, mermer mihr^abi ve k"urs"us"u, ahsap m"uezzin mahfeli ile dikkat cekici bir zar^afete s^ahiptir. Sem^ah^aneye g"ore zemini y"uksek tutulan mescidin kuzeybati k"osesindeki bir merdivenle yirminci y"uzyil baslarinda yapilmis olan tek serefeli min^areye cikilir. Mescidde namazlari ed^a etmenin yaninda ism-i Cel^al zikredilir ve Mesnevi okunurdu. Mescidin "uzerini "orten y"uksek kubbenin ici ile kubbede bulunan pencerelerin etrafi, bitkisel kalem isi motiflerle s"uslenmistir. Ahsap sacakli, d"ort kubbeli son cemaat mahalli mescidin batisinda bulunmakta olup, buraya acilan gri, beyaz mermer s"oveli, basik kenarli giris kapisinin "uzeri mukarnas islemelidir. Girisin iki yaninda s"utunceler mevcuttur. Cevizden yapilmis, zemini bitkisel motiflerle s"usl"u kapinin iki kanadinin aynaliginda Cin S^uresinin 18. ^ayet-i ker^imesi: “Ve enne’l-mes^acide li’ll^ahi fel^a ted‘^u ma‘all^ahi ehad^a” (S"uphesiz mescitler Allah’indir. O halde, Allah ile birlikte hic kimseye kulluk etmeyiniz.) yazilidir. Kubbe eteklerinde, pencerelerin arasinda yer alan madalyonlarin icerisinde kirmizi zemin "uzerine beyaz-sari renkte cel^i s"ul"us ve k^uf^i hatti ile “Kelime-i Tevhid” yazilidir. Kubbe kasnaginda stilize edilmis cicekli kartuslar "uzerinde, kapi kanatlarinin aynaliklarinda da bulunan: “S"uphesiz mescitler Allah’indir. O halde, Allah ile birlikte hic kimseye kulluk etmeyiniz” ^ayet-i ker^imesi bir sira beyaz zemin "uzerine sari, bir sira kirmizi zemin "uzerine beyaz renkli olarak on alti defa yazilmistir. Kubbe gecislerinde yer alan madalyonlarda sirasiyla “All^ahu veliyy"u’t-tevfik, ni‘me’l-mevl^a ve ni‘me’r-refik.” (Basarinin sahibi Allah’tir. O ne g"uzel dosttur, ne g"uzel Mevl^adir) yazilidir. Mescidin g"uney y"on"undeki duvarda yan yana iki adet celenk motifinin icerisinde “Allah” ve “Muhammed” yazilari ile celenk motifinin ortasinda bulunan meyve k^asesinin altindaki kitabede “Hamdi Mustafa R"usdi oglu Konyali Mahb^ub tarafindan 1305/1888 yilinda” yapildigi yazilidir. Mahb^ub, Konyali taninmis bir kalem isi ustasi ve hattatidir. Mescidin kuzey duvarinda m"uezzin mahfelinin "ust kisminda yer alan madalyonda “Bil^al Habes^i Radiyall^ahu anh” yazisi ile alttaki madalyonda Hz. Peygamber’in: “Y^a muhavvile’l-havli ve’l-ahv^al. Havvil h^alen^a il^a ahseni’l-h^al” (Ey b"ut"un h^alleri degistiren All^ah’im. Bizim h^alimizi de en g"uzel h^ale cevir) du^asi yazilidir. M"uezzin mahfelinin alt tarafinda ise m"usenn^a bicimde istiflenmis “Hu” yazisi ile mescidin dogu duvarinda yer alan madalyon icerisinde “H"useyin” bati duvarinda bulunan madalyon icerisinde “Hasan” yazilari bulunmaktadir. Mescidin g"uney y"onde ortadaki fil ayaginin "on"une yerlestirilen mihrabi lacivert mermerden yapilmistir. Mihrabin aynaliginda ^Al-i Imr^an s^uresinin 97. ^Ayet-i ker^imesinin: “Ve men dehaleh^u k^ane ^amin^a” (Oraya kim girerse g"uven icinde olur) b"ol"um"u; alinliginda da “All^ah ker^im Muhammed sefi” yazilari yer almaktadir. Mescidin minaresi son cemaat mahallinin g"uney bati kubbesi delinip tek serefeli ve tastan yapilmistir. Minarenin kaidesi "uzerinde bulunan kitabe 1918 tarihlidir.

Lake cildin y"uzeyi hat^a^i motifleriyle bezenmistir. Kagidi ^aharli ve samani renklidir. Ilk iki sayfasi tezhipli bu Kur’^an-i Kerim, Damat R"ustem Pasa tarafindan Mevl^an^a Derg^ahi’na vakfedilmistir.

The highest visible peak in the immediate area is King Mountain just to the south. An old quarry cuts into the east side of the formation. St Clement’s Church was founded in the early 1500s and has been touted as ‘the grandest medieval building in the Western Isles’. It was built by Alasdair ‘Crotach’ MacLeod of Dunvegan and Harris, 8th Chief of MacLeod and was intended as as a burial place for the MacLeod Clan. His elaborately decorated tomb and those of his successors are located inside the church.
