Raglan Castle was built in three phases over a 150-year period, starting in the late Medieval period by Sir William ap Thomas, the ‘blue knight of Gwent’, who fought alongside King Henry V at Agincourt. He instigated construction of the Great Tower, which became known as the Yellow Tower of Gwent. His son later added an impressive gatehouse, famed for its machionated hexagonal towers, stately apartments and Closet Tower. After an extended period of relative calm in the turbulent England Wales border region Raglan evolved into a fortified Tudor manor-house, that included a long hall with magnifcent Oriel windows. That peace was shattered by the English Civil War, when the castle was badly-damaged after being subjected to a lengthy siege and armoured bombardment.

Cambuskenneth Abbey was founded in 1147 by King David I to serve the nearby Stirling Castle. It is unique in Scotland for its free-standing gothic bell tower which, unlike the rest of the monastery complex, remains largely intact. The abbey was the location for two of Robert the Bruce’s parliaments in 1314 and 1326. It is also the burial place of King James III and Margaret of Denmark in the late 1480s. Their graves are marked by a stone monument which was erected by order of Queen Victoria.

The park as well as the little palace is owned by the municipality but only the park is open to the public. The river W"urm is meandering through the landscape on its way from Lake Starnberg to Munich.

Palazzo Strozzi perfectly represents the aristocratic palaces of the Renaissance used to house noble families. They have regular ground plans with symmetrical spaces. Often the construction of these buildings required the demolition of pre-existing constructions. The courtyards surrounded by columns are the fulcrum of the buildings. The insulation and the dimensions give these buildings great magnificence, making them recognizable in the urban environment.

The picture was taken inside the recently built lookout tower on the hilltop named "Predikaloszek " over the Danube curvature in Hungary. The landscape is lit by the Moon two days after full moon.

The image was taken just 2 days after full Moon and show the Danube curvature area of Hungary. The place is rather popular among tourists but at the time of taking the picture crowds were absent.

Aerial view (about 50') at Lake Mountain near Scott Bar, California. The peak is comprised of red peridotite as is nearby Tom Martin Peak (except for the top of that summit). From here one gets fantastic views of the Scott Bar Mountains, Marble Mountains, Boulder Peak, Marble Rim, Black Marble Mountain, Kings Castle, distant Preston Peak, the Red Buttes, massive Condrey Mountain (& Dry Lake Mountain), Cottonwood Peak, & Mt. Shasta in the clouds. The lookout tower site has been established since 1912.
