The St. Vitus Cathedral (Croatian: Katedrala Svetog Vida) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Rijeka, Croatia. In the Middle Ages, the Church of St. Vitus was a small and one-sided, romanesque church dedicated to the patron saint and protector of Rijeka. It had a semi-circular apse behind the altar, and covered porch. With the arrival of the Jesuits in Rijeka, the Cathedral as we see it today was founded in 1638. First, it became the Jesuits' church. When the town of Rijeka became the center of the diocese, and then in 1969 the center of the archbishopric and metropolit, the representative Jesuit's Church of St. Vitus became the Cathedral of Rijeka. It’s a rotunda, which is unusual in this part of Europe, with elements of Baroque and Gothic, including fine baroque statuary inside. The cathedral is depicted on the reverse of the Croatian 100 kuna banknote, issued in 1993 and 2002.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rijeka_Cathedralphoto: Zeiss Loxia 21mmoriginal size 28000x14000www.abagontheroad.com

The Zagreb Cathedral on Kaptol is a Roman Catholic institution and not only the tallest building in Croatia but also the most monumental sacral building in Gothic style southeast of the Alps.[3] It is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and to kings Saint Stephen and Saint Ladislaus. The cathedral is typically Gothic, as is its sacristy, which is of great architectural value. Its prominent spires are considered to be landmarks as they are visible from most parts of the city. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zagreb_Cathedralphoto: Zeiss Loxia 21mmoriginal size 28000x14000www.abagontheroad.com

Gric Tunnel (Croatian: Tunel Gric) is a pedestrian tunnel located in the city centre of Zagreb, Croatia, under the historic neighbourhood of Gric (also called Gradec or Gornji Grad), which gave the tunnel its name. The tunnel consists of a central hall, which is connected by two passageways to Mesnicka Street in the west and Stjepan Radi'c Street in the east, and four passageways extending to the south. It was built during World War II by the Ustase government to serve both as a bomb shelter and a promenade, but following the war it quickly fell into disrepair and disuse. The tunnel saw renewed use only in the 1990s, hosting one of the first raves in Croatia, and functioning as a shelter during the Croatian War of Independence. In 2016, the tunnel was remodeled and opened to the public, serving as a tourist attraction and hosting cultural events. Planned expansions include a museum and a lift.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gri%C4%8D_Tunnel_(Zagreb)photo: Zeiss Loxia 21mmoriginal size 25000x12500www.abagontheroad.com

During Jimmy Carter's childhood, the area around the family farm was known as Archery, Georgia, and contained the houses of many of the farm's workers, in addition to the Carters' general store. A visit to this farm makes one realize how significant Carter's boyhood experience was in shaping his view of humanity. If you rotate the panorama to the right from where it opens, you can see what remains of a pecan grove that was planted by Carter's father, Earl, for his mother, Lillian.

If you ever visit the Carter Farm, be sure to spend a few minutes with Fraidy Cat, who usually hangs out near the entrance to the farm, waiting to greet visitors.

Interestingly, this is the house where Jimmy stayed when his parents went out of town.
