The broad, divided street slopes steeply downhill from Montreal City Hall and rue Notre-Dame to the waterfront and rue de la Commune. During the high tourist season, the street hosts many street artists and kiosks. During the Christmas season, the street is lined with lighted trees. At any time of year, one can find restaurants on both sides of the street and many more on the surrounding streets of Vieux Port, notably on Rue Saint-Paul.

Rue Saint-Paul (Saint Paul Street) is a street in the Old Montreal historic area of Montreal, Quebec. The street was laid out by Francois Dollier de Casson, along the route of a path that had bordered a former fort. Saint Paul is Montreal's oldest street and for many years served as its main thoroughfare. Paved in 1672, it was named after Paul de Chomedey de Maisonneuve, founder of Montreal, who built a home for himself on it in 1650. The street is home to such landmarks as the Bonsecours Market and Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel. Much of Saint Paul is still paved with cobblestones. Plans to pedestrianize the street in 2008 were dropped by the City of Montreal after complaints from merchants.

This pier is the anchor of the Old Port area, home to restaurants, an open-air stage and a handicraft center. Every year the port stages a number of temporary exhibits, shows and events. Montr'eal’s world-renowned Cirque du Soleil performs under its eye-catching big top here in warmer months. Tours of the port area depart from the pier, and a ferry can take you to Parc Jean-Drapeau.

Place d'Armes is a square in Old Montreal quarter of Montreal, in Quebec, Canada. In the centre, there is a monument in memory of Paul de Chomedey, founder of Montreal. Buildings that surround it include Notre-Dame Basilica, Saint-Sulpice Seminary, New York Life Building, Aldred Building, Bank of Montreal head office and 500 Place D'Armes.

Built in the Gothic Revival style, the church is highly decorated. The vaults are coloured deep blue and decorated with golden stars, and the rest of the sanctuary is decorated in blues, azures, reds, purples, silver, and gold. It is filled with hundreds of intricate wooden carvings and several religious statues. Unusual for a church, the stained glass windows along the walls of the sanctuary do not depict biblical scenes, but rather scenes from the religious history of Montreal. It also has a Casavant Fr`eres pipe organ, dated 1891, which comprises four keyboards, 92 stops using electropneumatic action and an adjustable combination system, 7000 individual pipes and a pedal board.

Clay Butte rises to almost 10,500' as it looms over Beartooth Lake below is southeast flank. Clay Butte is made up of Sedimentary rock. The fire watch tower in the panorama is open for self guided tours during the summer months. Rotate the panorama about 180 around and you will get a good view of the prominent Pilot and Index Peaks located near Cooke City, Montana. In the far distance to the north about half way between Index Peak and Clay Butte (left of the bald ridge) you can see the pyramidal top of Granite Peak, Montana's high point at 12,799'.

The cornerstone of the present-day southern part of the fortress was laid on 18 October 1692 by Charles Eug`ene de Cro"y. Petrovaradin Fortress has many underground tunnels as well as 16 km of uncollapsed underground countermine system.
