Ploughing engines at the Winterton Steam & Vintage Rally 2018. The engines would be stationary while ploughing, with the large cable drum underneath dragging the plough.

Derrick Cave is a 1200' long lava tube in the Devils Garden Lava Field in the Oregon Outback. Its age is roughly around 50,000 years old (?). This is in the main tunnel which has a ceiling up to 50 feet up, almost giving the appearance of a subway. Lava shelves can be seen alongside the floor w/ some tube-in-tube formations further down. The cave has relatively little breakdown w/ many original features. For photographic purposes, this is definitely a great one to capture, especially near the entrance where there are two beautiful skylights w/ green bacteria-coated walls.

Built to overlook the Nile, the temple is located in the city of Kom Ombo, about 30 miles North of Aswan. Its dual design is dedicated to Sobek and Horus and is perfectly symmetrical along its main axis. Kom Ombo was dedicated mainly to Sobek and Horus; however, some of their family members were part of the temple’s dedication as well. The Southern portion of the temple was not just dedicated to Sobek, the god of fertility, but also to Hathor, the goddess of love and joy, and Khonsu, the god of the moon. In this portion of the temple there are many crocodile representations to pay homage to Sobek. This part of the temple is also called “House of the Crocodile.”

The Mountain "Malinovaya". (Height - 1152 m.) In summer, a ripe large aromatic raspberry covers all the slopes of the mountain and from a distance it seems that the stones are crimson.

One of the most ancient and interesting buildings in the Borjomi valley is the Kvabiskhevi Church of Assumption. It is a three-aisle basilica built in the VIII-IX centuries, and its wall painting is dated from XII-XIII centuries. The fresco depict a man and a woman in luxurious clothing. The inscription made in the ancient Georgian script reads “Shotai and Iai”. The man is a great Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli, and the woman is his mother. The church is located in the historic Meskheti. Scientists believe that it was the native region of Rustaveli. According to the legend, the poet’s aunt was married in the Kvabiskhevi gorge and he got his education in this place. Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park is located in central part of Georgia and creates eastern part of lesser Caucasus Mountains. A look at the gated entrance to Wind Cave, a lava tube along China Hat Road near Bend, Oregon. In the fall of 2005, Wind Cave was altogether permanently closed & gated for bat protection. I was fortunate to visit Wind Cave in June 2004 & not too much further was the Dark Hole Skylight, an impressive feature 500 feet within, a bright hole radiating light into the high-ceiling cavern. Most of the 3,200' long cave was a roller-coaster of climbing up and down breakdown to the graffiti-filled end. Here the entrance is about ten feet in height.
