"Toro nagashi" is sending off the spirits of the dead on lanterns floated on the waters of a river or the sea (on the last day of the Bon Festival). This photograph was performed in Tomoegawa(Tomoe-River) of Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City (on July 16).

The Soyuz-MS is the latest revision of the Soyuz spacecraft. It is an evolution of the Soyuz TMA-M spacecraft, with modernization mostly concentrated on the communications and navigation subsystems. It is used by the Russian Federal Space Agency for human spaceflight. Soyuz-MS has minimal external changes with respect to the Soyuz TMA-M, mostly limited to antennas and sensors, as well as the thruster placement.   Source: Wikipedia

View from the summit of Tiffany Mountain (elev. 8,242') northeast of Winthrop, Washington.  The peak is an isolated area of the North Cascades in the extreme southeast corner.  The summit has an easy trail up the broad southern face that leads to this summit escarpment looking down at Tiffany & Little Tiffany Lakes.  There would be more views of the jagged peaks in the Pasayten Wilderness however the haze was thick from the Crescent Mountain Fire burning west of Twisp.  There is evidence of there being a fire lookout but it is long gone at this point.

UNESCO’s World Heritage List Tuesday, 8 July 2008 The Bah'a’i Holy Places in Haifa and Western Galilee (Israel) are inscribed for the testimony they provide to the Bah'a’i’s strong tradition of pilgrimage and for their profound meaning for the faith. The property numbers 26 buildings, monuments and sites at 11 locations in Acre and Haifa, associated with the founders of the faith, among them the Shrine of the Bah'a’u’ll'ah in Acre and the Mausoleum of the B'ab in Haifa. It also includes houses, gardens, a cemetery and a large group of modern buildings in the neoclassical style that serve for administration, archives and a research centre.
