Toender housed one of the great airship bases of the German empire in the period 1914-1818. The base was located a few kilometers north of the city and was almost a self-sufficient little town with its own gas, water and heating plant. On July 19, 1918, Toender entered the world history when the Zeppelin base was exposed to the first air attack made by a hangar ship. Both the English pilots' report and the remains of the bombs can be seen at the museum. The attack put an end to Zeppelin operations from Toender, but after the reunification with Denmark in 1920, the Danish military moved into the area. The Zeppelin & Garnisons Museum Toender was opened on May 8, 1999 and is located in close proximity to the old base area. The museum houses a large collection of photographs and items from the period. Among other things. original propellers from the giant airships, as well as uniforms and weapons. My grandma & three aunts (+ a random photobomber) standing b/w Chalet 10 & 11 at Holden Village, Washington.  My grandparents first came to Holden Village in 1968 & were fairly regular guests throughout the 1970s, my grandpa giving lectures relating to philosophy.  Chalets are for the long term staff & so they lived at Chalet 5 as well.  There was some uncertainty as to which chalet the family lived at.  Recently it has become a family tradition to revisit to see what was new & to enjoy the peaceful setting away from reality.

Inside the old gymnasium at Holden Village, Washington.  It has since been converted to a chapel since the former mining buildings were bought by the Lutheran Church shortly after the Holden Mine closed in 1957.  Services are held every day here w/ vespers b/w 7-7:30pm.

Black Canyon Lake is a large alpine lake nestled down amount 12,000' peaks in the Beartooh Mountains of Montana. The opening view of the panorama shows prominent Spirit Mountain (12,283') directly in the center at the far end of the lake. Rotate to the right and a bit farther back is Beartooth Mountain at 12, 257'. Keep rotating to see Thunder Mountain (11,441') on the right side of the lake. On the left side of the lake is Mount Rearguard at 12,204'. The elevation of Black Canyon Lake is 9,212'. The lake's aqua blue color comes from fine glacial fines washing in from Grasshopper Glacier which can be seen between Spirit Mountain and Beartooth Mountain.

Steinheim am Main is one of the larger parts of Hanau in the Hessian district of Main-Kinzig-Kreis. The old town is surrounded by a medieval city wall. The original cityscape has been preserved within the walls. The alleys between the old half-timbered and stone houses offer many romantic perspectives.  It is the world's most advanced optical instrument, consisting of four Unit Telescopes with main mirrors of 8.2m diameter and four movable 1.8m diameter Auxiliary Telescopes. The telescopes can work together, to form a giant ‘interferometer’. The VLT intervalometer allowing astronomers to see details up to 25 times finer than with the individual telescopes. The light beams are combined in the VLTI using a complex system of mirrors in underground tunnels where the light paths must be kept equal to distances less than 1/1000 mm over a hundred metres. With this kind of precision the VLTI can reconstruct images with an angular resolution of milliarcseconds, equivalent to distinguishing the two headlights of a car at the distance of the Moon. The 8.2m diameter Unit Telescopes can also be used individually. With one such telescope, images of celestial objects as faint as magnitude 30 can be obtained in a one-hour exposure. This corresponds to seeing objects that are four billion (four thousand million) times fainter than what can be seen with the unaided eye.

The village of Podoinikovo was founded in 1770. Located in Altai region, in Russia. Majority of the population is employed in agriculture. This panorama was taken on July 18, 2018 by kite aerial photography.

Located less than 30 miles west of Boston in the town of Stow is an aviator’s paradise called Crow Island Airpark. For over 30 years this 2300’ grass airstrip has been a hotbed for pilots flying a variety of aircraft including, trikes, ultralights, vintage taildraggers, seaplanes, hang gliders, powered paragliders, powered parachutes, and RC aircraft.
