The former synagogue in the northern Bavarian town of Kitzingen is one of the few Jewish houses of worship, which was rebuilt after the war almost in its original state. But a Jewish community no longer exists here today. The city of Kitzingen and the "Friends of the Former Synagogue Kitzingen e.V." take care of the use of the "Old Synagogue". From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: The Kamnitz Gorge (Czech: Soutesky Kamenice, German: Kamnitzklamm or German: Edmundsklamm) is a rocky ravine between Hrensko (Herrnskretschen), Mezn'a and Srbsk'a Kamenice in Bohemian Switzerland in the Czech Republic. The river Kamnitz flows through it and discharges near Hrensko into the Elbe. History: The Kamnitz Gorge was first travelled in 1877 by young men. Prince Edmund Clary-Aldringen had the way through the gorge widened by Italian construction workers in 1889 and in 1890 boats were used in the Edmund Gorge (German: Edmundsklamm, Czech: Edmundova Souteska), also called the Silent Gorge (German: Stille Klamm, Czech: Tich'a Souteska). The Wild Gorge (German: Wilde Klamm, Czech: Divok'a Souteska) followed in 1898. In 1881 there was a boat service to the Grundm"uhle in the adjoining Ferdinand Gorge (Ferdinandsklamm), which has since been withdrawn.

Castelluccio is a village in Umbria, in the Apennine Mountains of central Italy. Administratively, it is a frazione of the ca. 28 km distant town Norcia. According to the 2001 census, it had close to 150 inhabitants. The village lies at 1452 m, making it the highest settlement in the Apennines. It lies above the "Great Plain" (Piano Grande - 1270 m), next to the Monti Sibillini National Park.Rain and meltwater accumulate on the surface of the plain, which is made of largely impermeable sediments. The greenish ditches drain the water towards openings called ponors, which are part of the karstic underground drainage system. If the karst drainage is blocked for any reason, water backs up and turns the plain into a temporary lake. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castelluccio_(Norcia) photo: Zeiss Batis 18mmoriginal size 13000x6500

Monte Vettore (from latin Vector, "winner") is a mountain of the Apennines. It is the highest peak of the Cyblings massif. The southwestern side of Cyblings massif, Vector, is included in Sibillini Mountains National Park. Below the summit of Vector lies a small glacial lake in a small enclosed valley between Redeemer Peak. The Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy with a diameter between 100,000 and 180,000 light-years (ly). It is estimated to contain 100–400 billion stars. There are probably at least 100 billion planets in the Milky Way. The Solar System is located within the disk, about 26,000 light-years from the Galactic Center, on the inner edge of the Orion Arm, one of the spiral-shaped concentrations of gas and dust. The stars in the innermost 10,000 light-years form a bulge and one or more bars that radiate from the bulge. The galactic center is an intense radio source known as Sagittarius A*, likely a supermassive black hole. photo: Zeiss Batis 18mm original size 13000x6500 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monte_Vettore

On the banks of the River "Main" lies "Kitzingen", one of the oldest cities in Lower Franconia. The historic center of Kitzingen is located west of the river, the district of "Etwashausen" and the industrial areas are located east. The panorama was created on the western bank of the river between the Konrad-Adenauer-Bridge and the Pipinsbr"ucke (also called Old Main Bridge) at the height of the synagogue.
