View from the summit of English Peak (elev. 7,322') in the Marble Mountain Wilderness near Sawyers Bar, California.  The peak has sweeping views from the Trinity Alps to the south to the Russian Peak Wilderness to the west.  To the north is more of the Marble Mountain Wilderness leading up to Black Marble Mountain.  To the northwest lies distant Preston Peak & to the west one can see lower mountains leading to a faint view of the Pacific Ocean.  Directly below to the north one can see English Lake plus some granite glacial scouring & cliffs.  The peak is equipped with a small fire lookout that was built in 1950 & restored b/w 1995-96.  As you can see, nearly all the surrounding mountains have had their share of forest fires, many within the past ten years.  An area that had plenty of old-growth green forests is rapidly changing in this rather warm environment.  English Peak itself had the 2017 Island Fire, which scorched through the slopes below.

Church Ope Cove is a small beach on the eastern side of the Isle of Portland in Dorset, and is the only part of the island that you can easily access the beach, accept at Portland bill and the town of Fortuneswell. This photograph is taken from path near the ruined church of St Andrew and you can see the path winding it's way passed the church and up to Pennsylvania Castle.

An areal view over the town of Pizzo in Calabria. The town is small with typical small alleys and direct access to the mediterranen sea. Pizzo is a great place for vacation as well as experiencing typical Italian flair and food.

Leighton Barracks is a former military garrison, located on top of a hill in the Hubland area 1.8 miles (3 km) east of the City of W"urzburg, in Franconia, Germany. It was active as a military base between 1936–2008, from 2012-onwards part of the barracks has converted to new r^ole as additional academic buildings and student accommodation for the University of W"urzburg. The rest of the barracks are now the new district "Hubland".

Here on the border between Austria and Slovakia, the march flows into the danube.The castle stands on a cliff (212 m) on Slovak territory.Until 1989, the Iron Curtain between the Eastern Bloc and the West ran just in front of the castle on the river banks.The castle was first mentioned in written sources in 864.In the 13th century, a stone castle was built. In September 2017, forest fires broke out in Waterton Lakes National Park. That year was an exceptionally dry summer and fires fanned by the wind caused extensive damage in the park. Many trees visible from the Waterton Lake were destryed, leaving steep slopes exposed to rain and snow damage.
