The Marchfeld Canal leads water from river Danube into the Marchfeld.The Marchfeld Canal system was built in the years 1986 to 2004 to improve the water management situation in the region of Marchfeld.These include securing the water supply, increasing water quality and revitalizing the watercourses.

Balboa Park is an urban cultural park in San Diego, California, USA. It contains 17 museums and cultural institutions including the world famous San Diego Zoo. In this image, the blue-lighted building to the North is the Botanical building. To the left is the Timkin museum and to the right is Casa del Prado. To the rear is the the House of Hospitality and the Casa de Balboa which houses the Museum of Photographic Arts and other museums.

View from the summit of Jupiter (elev. 7,415') in the Sky Lakes Wilderness, Oregon. The peak is part of a ridge of adjacent named points w/ views amidst the trees of the High Cascades including Crater Lake to the north & Mt. McLoughlin to the south. One can see nearby Devils Peak, the highest in the region, as well as a few lakes of the Seven Lakes Basin.

Boulder Pond is located in the Sky Lakes Wilderness, Oregon. Here it is at high water mark, in late summer it can completely dry out. The water level was even higher shortly before as indicated by bathtub rings of pollen.

Founded by Jun'ipero Serra, a Spanish priest and friar, this was the first Franciscan mission to be built in California in 1769. Just a few years later local Kumeyaay warriors sacked the mission killing Father Luis Jayme who became the first martyr of the region. He still lies entombed beneath the chancel floor in the current church that dates from the early 19th century.
