Ryazan Kremlin, the oldest part of the city of Ryazan, is a historical and architectural museum. It is one of the oldest museums in Russia. Located on the top of a steep hill, it is surrounded by rivers and a dry moat. This monument of architecture and nature reserve of federal importance is included in the State Register of Especially Valuable Objects of the People of the Russian Federation. Salt Creek Falls is located near Willamette Pass, Oregon & features a 286 foot plunge over a large cliff of basalt columns.  It is the third highest drop in the state after Multnomah & Watson Falls.

Wombach is a district of Lohr am Main in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart. The most striking building of the village is the round church of St. Peter and Paul, built in the years 1959-62 by Hans Sch"adel. The architecture is unusual and a mirror of the 60s. Piazza del Campo is the central square of the Italian city of Siena, one of the most magnificent medieval squares. It faces the Palazzo Publico facades with the Tower of Torre del Manja, which is the architectural dominant of the square and various palazzi signorili. On the square there is the famous Fountain of Joy. Пьяцца-дель-Кампо — центральная площадь итальянского города Сиены, одна из самых величественных средневековых площадей. На неё выходят фасады Палаццо Пубблико с башней Торре дель Манджа, являющейся архитектурной доминантой площади и различные palazzi signorili. На площади находится знаменитый Фонтан Радости.

Waldo Lake is a large lake in the High Cascades near Willamette Pass, Oregon.  It has a depth of over 400 feet & is naturally fed by springs, which gives it a rich color (well, when the sun is out).  This is from near Islet Point while there was a breeze that had created waves, though I softened them out w/ a ten second exposure.

The monastery is best known for the fact that Vincent van Gogh stayed here from May 1889 to May 1890. A masterpiece of Provencal Romanesque art, the 11th -12th Century cloister backs onto the chapel, in pure Romanesque style, with a facade altered in the 18th Century. It is capped by a square bell tower in the Lombard style. One wing of the pretty Romanesque cloister houses a museum which retraces the period when Vincent van Gogh was committed to Saint-Paul.

On May 8, 1889 Vincent van Gogh voluntarily entered the asylum of St. Paul, near Saint-R'emy in the Provence region of southern France. Saint-Paul, which began as an Augustine monastery in the 12th century, was converted into an asylum in the 19th century. His brother Theo arranged for two small rooms—adjoining cells with barred windows. The second was to be used as a studio. Van Gogh was initially confined to the immediate asylum grounds and painted (without the bars) the world he saw from his room, such as ivy covered trees, lilacs, and irises of the garden. Through the open bars Van Gogh could also see an enclosed wheat field, subject of many paintings at Saint-R'emy. As he ventured outside of the asylum walls, he painted the wheat fields, olive groves, and cypress trees of the surrounding countryside, which he saw as "characteristic of Provence." Over the course of the year, he painted about 150 canvases.
