King Charles Wants Harry and Meg at his Coronation in May

Вторник, 31 Января 2023 г. 03:38 + в цитатник

According to sources close to King Charles, he wants his youngest son at his coronation even if Prince William is understood to be resistant to the idea. https://t.co/CY0PHyk9OB

— VANITY FAIR (@VanityFair) January 30, 2023

King Charles is set on finding a way for Prince Harry to attend his coronation in May, and courtiers are considering how to accommodate the Sussexes in a “low profile” capacity.

According to sources close to Charles, he wants his youngest son at the most important occasion of his life even if Prince William is understood to be resistant to the idea.

While there has been no contact between Harry and his family since the publication of Spare, his bombshell memoir, Prince Harry has said he wants to pave the way for a reconciliation.

“Charles is a forgiving person by nature, and he wants to move on,” sources tell Vanity Fair. “Whatever has been said and done, Harry is still his son and he loves him.”

Charles has also told friends that he hopes to repair relations following some of the devastating revelations published in the tell-all, in which Harry accused his brother of physically attacking him and called Camilla, Queen Consort “dangerous,” a “villain” and accused her of planting stories in the press.

Sources close to William say there’s no trust left between him and Harry and suggesting a reconciliation between the siblings is unlikely. However, Charles believes that as a family they have to move on and that the royal family must be united on the eve of the coronation.

While official invites to the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, which will take place on Saturday, May 6th, have yet to be sent out, sources close to Charles say he is likely to invite Harry and Meghan “because it is the right thing to do and will hopefully pave the way for peace.”

“Charles is a forgiving person by nature, and he wants to move on,” says another. “Whatever has been said and done, Harry is still his son and he loves him. He also cannot imagine being crowned, the most important moment of his life, without both his sons witnessing the moment.”

According to reports in the Mail on Sunday, William is reluctant to have Harry attend because he fears his brother might pull a publicity stunt and try to overshadow the occasion by staging a walkabout.

The newspaper also reported that Charles has asked Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury to come up with a solution which could include assurance that he and Meghan will be seated in high-profile positions and retain their royal titles if they agree to stop attacking the institution.

There is still the question surrounding Archie (whose fourth birthday falls on the day of the coronation) and Lilibet’s royal titles. Technically, they are now entitled to use “Prince” and “Princess” because Harry is the son of the monarch, but the titles have not officially been bestowed on them. “The matter of titles is still up in the air,” says a source. “The feeling is that the titles need to be earned. The royals need to know that they can trust Harry and Meghan not to keep damaging the reputation of the family.”

Harry and Meghan have previously demonstrated that they can attend important royal events without upstaging the key principals. During the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations last June, they did not ride in the carriage procession at Trooping the Colour, nor did they appear on the balcony which was reserved for working royals only. They did however attend a Service of Thanksgiving although they were not seated in the front row and they chose not to join the royals in the Royal Box for the concert at the palace.

AI-Generated Voice Firm Clamps Down After 4chan Makes Celebrity Voices for Abuse

AI-Generated Voice Firm Clamps Down After 4chan Makes Celebrity Voices for Abuse https://t.co/fxdO1dlFlB

4chan members used ElevenLabs to make deepfake voices of Emma Watson, Ben Shapiro, Joe Rogan, Justin Roiland, and others saying racist, transphobic, and violent things.

Apparently, they couldn't find clips that already existed of Rogan and Shapiro saying bigoted things, which surprises me!

The AI Voicework is from ElevenLabs, whigh generates a clone of someone's voice from a clean sample recording, and they are exploring more safeguards to prevent this from happening.

Eva Green Tells Court: ‘Shitty’ B-Movie Could Have ‘Killed My Career’

Вторник, 31 Января 2023 г. 02:10 + в цитатник

Eva Green Tells Court: ‘Shitty’ B-Movie Could Have ‘Killed My Career’https://t.co/KSwSn72bMH

— Variety (@Variety) January 30, 2023

Eva Green has told the Court that a low-budget version movie of a film she had signed on to make could have killed her career.

Her lawsuit against White Lantern (Britannica) Ltd over a $1 million fee she says is owed for a film called “A Patriot,” which fell apart in 2019 after it failed to secure production finance.

The original budget for the film, which was written and set to be directed by Dan Pringle, was set to be around $10 million. However, as the producers desperately tried to secure financing amid a rapidly changing independent film landscape the budget was slowly decreased without Green’s knowledge.

Green signed up to this film because “I fell in love with the story and thought it had to be told.”
She was drawn by her proposed role in the project, a soldier, as well as the film’s themes of climate change.

Green agreed that she had described the film as a “B-shitty-movie” via text.
She wouldn’t have signed onto the production knowing it would be a “B-shitty-movie”

If she would still have starred in the “B-movie” version of the film in return for $1 million.
Green replied: “I don’t care about the money. I live to make good films, it’s my religion.”

If making a B-movie could be bad for an actor’s reputation.
Green replied. “When an actor has appeared in a B movie you are labelled as a B actor and never get quality work again…It could kill my career.

When Green realized the full extent of “A Patriot’s” financial troubles, she kind of panicked.

The writer/director described a chaotic situation in which development and pre-production had stalled after producers' vision for the film clashed with his and Green’s.

Green’s case is that she was waiting to be called upon to perform but the film was “built on sand” and the production collapsed without calling her. She says she is therefore owed her fee under her “pay or play” agreement.

White Lantern and Sherborne’s case is that it was Green who undermined the project and then walked away, causing the film to collapse.

Gellar : ‘Every Time Marvel Does a Female Cast It Gets Torn Apart’ and It’s ‘Very Backwards’

Вторник, 31 Января 2023 г. 01:52 + в цитатник

Sarah Michelle Gellar calls out a Marvel double standard: “Every time a Marvel movie tries to do a female cast, it just gets torn apart…audiences weren’t as accepting. There’s still this mentality of ‘the male superhero’, a very backwards way of thinking" https://t.co/s0oLBi7mkJ

— Variety (@Variety) January 30, 2023

Gellar knows firsthand how well female actors can thrive in genre television series and movies
"it’s very backwards how female-led Marvel projects often get torn apart in a way male-led projects do not."

“Genre is where women can really succeed and hold an audience. Every time a Marvel movie tries to do a female cast, it just gets torn apart… Unfortunately, audiences weren’t as accepting. There’s still this mentality of ‘the male superhero,’ this very backwards way of thinking.”

“Captain Marvel” and “Ms. Marvel” were review-bombed on platforms like IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes before they were even released. Trolls flooded these websites with negative reviews due to the projects spotlighting female superheroes in leading roles.

Anonymous Oscar Voters Discuss The Best Actress Controversy

Anonymous Oscar Voters Discuss Andrea Riseborough Controversy: ‘If Disqualified, It Would Be a Decimation of the Actors’ Choice’ https://t.co/UTDBboR8on

— Variety (@Variety) January 30, 2023

Complete with responses to every response I've seen in the comments!

"The Academy Is A Big Club and No One Really Cares"

“Do you remember that saying when you were a kid? ‘Snitches get stitches.’ Do you know how many movies and studios break the rules? And I’m talking about blatantly emailing members in a chain and saying, ‘OK, Team INSERT NAME HERE, it’s voting day, and you know what to do?’ No one is going to snitch. Why would they? [Riseborough’s] team didn’t do anything more than what I see yearly. They probably did it closer to the rules than not… she’ll be fine.”

- Marketing and Public Relations Branch Member

"It Happens All The Time"

“I have a feeling Andrea Riseborough will have her nomination rescinded because the Academy has to stop what’s been going on for a long time. They say we’re supposed to pick the best movies, but I don’t think that’s happening. I don’t often vote when choosing nominees because I don’t see enough. But when it’s time to pick winners, I watch everything, but I find myself saying, ‘This got nominated? How?’ It’s because streamers and journalists tell us what we have to choose, and people listen. I didn’t hear about the movie [‘To Leslie’] until this nonsense. It’s terrible she’s going to be the example, but hopefully, this will wake people up to what’s been happening for a long time.”
- Writer's Branch Member

"A WOC Could Not Get Away With This":

“Can you imagine if Viola [Davis] was being accused of what her [Andrea Riseborough] team is being accused of? Viola wouldn’t have gotten to the point of getting nominated. She would have already been disqualified and probably kicked out of the Academy. There’s always one set of rules for one group and one set for another. Or should I say, one set for Black people? We see this all the time, and the Academy knows it. Yet, they chose not to do anything about it… so do I think she’ll be kicked out? Hell no! Because ‘White is Always Right.’ She’ll probably even win because the system is made for people like her to thrive. To succeed. To flourish. For Black people, there is no system. We aren’t flourishing. But I’ll wait to see what they’ll do.”

- Unidentified Branch

"How is This Different From Normal Campaigning?"

“Was her campaign aggressive? Absolutely. She wanted it, but they all do. Meryl [Streep] does, and Cate [Blanchett] does. Listen… I don’t know about not spending that much money on it. There’s always money. No one does things for free, but we play the game. Some win. Some lose. She won, but the Academy won’t punish her. They can’t, or they have to punish all of us. I don’t have an opinion if she ‘should’ get kicked out or not. I don’t know enough about it. Probably not.”

- Producers

Eddie Murphy: "Donkey is funnier than Puss in Boots"

Вторник, 31 Января 2023 г. 00:50 + в цитатник

Eddie Murphy: “I would do a Donkey movie. I would do another ‘Shrek’ in two seconds.” https://t.co/ELNK7qZV6L

— Variety (@Variety) January 30, 2023

Eddie Murphy wants to do another Shrek movie or a Donkey-centric spinoff. So far only Puss in Boots has gotten a spinoff. According to Murphy though, Donkey is far funnier and more worthy of the spinoff treatment than Puss.

“I’d absolutely be open if they ever came with another ‘Shrek,’ I’d do it in two seconds. I love Donkey,” Murphy told ETalk in a recent interview. “You know, they did ‘Puss in Boots’ movies. I was like, ‘They should have did a Donkey movie. Donkey is funnier than Puss in Boots. I mean, I love Puss in Boots, but he ain’t funny as the Donkey.”

Murphy continued, “I would do a Donkey movie. I would do another ‘Shrek’ in two seconds.”

When ETalk said Murphy needs to “pull some strings” to get a Donkey movie off the ground, the comedian responded, “That’s Dreamworks Animation. They have to want to do it. Dreamworks, if you all want to do it, just call me. I’m ready, I’m sitting and ready to do Donkey.”

The original “Shrek” turned DreamWorks Animation into a powerhouse studio with its $487 million worldwide gross. The movie became the first Oscar winner in the animated feature category. “Shrek 2” grossed $928 million. Both films competed for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

“Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” has grossed over $100 million at the domestic box office, proving there’s still a lot of interest in the “Shrek” universe.

Lisa Marie Presley Speaks On Her Departure from Scientology

In April 2015, Lisa Marie Presley spoke frankly and openly with us about her history of involvement in #Scientology. Subscribers will see our 6,000-word story at 7 am Eastern, and then everyone else can access it at 8 am.

— Tony Ortega (@TonyOrtega94) January 30, 2023

In 2015, Lisa Marie Presley talked to Underground Bunker's Tony Ortega about:

• Scientology (mom Priscilla got involved by asking John Travolta to introduce her) and David Miscavige
• Her marriage to Michael Jackson (yes, she was actually in love with him and Scientology was partially responsible for the split, she likens it to what was done to Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise)
• Tom Cruise ("I fucking hate Tom. I met him 20 years ago. I said I never want to be in a room with him again.")
• Her break from Scientology (she confirms daughter Riley Keough and Priscilla left with her, son Ben was never a Scientologist)
• Quote from Lisa: "I talked to Debbie Cook yesterday. ‘Your whole life has been a manipulation, Lisa.’ That’s what she said."

Lisa Marie, in her own words. At the source.

For what it is worth, people have questioned the ethics of releasing an eight year old interview after Lisa Marie has died, so...

yes, it's another post on the Andrea Riseborough Oscar drama

Понедельник, 30 Января 2023 г. 17:35 + в цитатник

Disqualifying the ‘To Leslie’ actress would invite more scrutiny on all Oscar campaigns, something the board of governors definitely doesn’t want. But that doesn’t mean the rules won’t need to change.

New, from @MattBelloni https://t.co/tRc8HtDxqI

— Puck (@PuckNews) January 30, 2023

• I'll stop making posts about it once articles with new info stop dropping!

• Belloni starts the piece off by saying that an actor, who is a voting member of the Academy, called him personally to complain about the backlash that Riseborough was getting in wake of her surprise nomination. The actor complained that intense campaigning has always existed and it shouldn't matter how it happened. Belloni refutes that in the article saying the rules are confusing and incomplete, but they help maintain a modicum of integrity to the whole spectacle.

• Belloni states that it's "pretty clear" at this point that To Leslie director Michael Morris, his wife Mary McCormack, Riseborough's manager Jason Weinberg, and others directly involved in the campaign, "broke or stretched beyond credulity those rules about harassing-sorry, lobbying-members via emails and calls."

• The Academy does have specific rules about emails campaigns are allowed to send during Oscar season. Film companies may not send a member more than one email and one hardcopy mailing per Monday through Sunday seven-day period for each film the company represents.

There's also an email blast system the Academy manages which "those working with campaigns" are supposed to use. The rules and systems are intended to "prevent the kind of relentless contacts that many received from McCormack and others."

• Belloni calls out the perception that this campaign was "grassroots" and "organic" and says that McCormack knew directing an Oscar nominated performance would benefit her husbands bourgeoning film career greatly (To Leslie is Morris's first feature film after decades of directing TV) and so she went overboard.

• Belloni exchanged texts with two separate reps of actors who posted about Riseborough and the film on social media the week of Oscar voting. The reps told him that their clients, "were contacted over and over again, with pleas to watch the movie, attend a screening, host a screening, post on social, etc. One [actor] said they were invited to McCormack and Morris's home several times for events/screenings, even though they've never met."

• Again, Belloni notes that this happens a lot during Oscar season but that this campaign was "relentless" and operating outside the Academy's official service which every other campaign is using.

• The rep for one of the actors says their client feels "embarrassed" and "manipulated" now even though they liked Riseborough's performance and voted for her during the nomination process.

• When Belloni reached out to Weinberg (Riseborough's manager who also manages stars like Christina Ricci, Pen'elope Cruz and Jean Smart) directly about the campaign he "went quiet," but according to Belloni's sources, "he's been bragging about the tactics," the campaign used all over town. He also says, "there may eve be emails from him that the Academy will want to look at, though I haven't seen any yet."

• Belloni has noticed awards media is rallying behind Riseborough, which he says is not surprising. "Most outlets that cover the race need access to actors-for the articles, the podcasts, the photo shoots, and the lucrative panels and Q&As that can pay pundits $500 a pop during the season," and that it is all part of the eco-system.

• The Academy's board of governors is having a meeting this Tuesday, which most likely will not result in Riseborough's disqualification from the race, but more than likely will result in new rules, "on what digital communications are allowed, what's not, how campaigns can post on social media."
