Weaker yuan boosts demand for BTC in China |
Cryptocurrency No. 1 may turn out to be a new risk-free asset for the Chinese, experts say. They draw attention to the greater inverse correlation between Bitcoin and the yuan. This trend may indicate that China's investors are increasingly considering BTC as a safe-haven asset.
According to analysts, the reverse interdependence between Bitcoin and the Chinese currency reached peak values at the end of last month. Experts noted that this trend had started back in April-May 2019. Interestingly, at that time, the trade confrontation between Beijing and Washington was gradually gaining momentum.
The representative at the London School of Economics stated in his study that the recent fall of the renminbi had boosted demand for BTC. As a result, the cryptocurrency appreciated since Asian sellers were ready to pay for Bitcoin more.
The devaluation of the Chinese currency is attributed to a number of factors such as a slowdown in the country's economic growth, a trade war with the United States, and easing monetary policy.

China’s inflation rate remains at 2.8% |
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, last month China’s inflation rate remained unchanged at 2.8%. Chinese consumer prices growth stayed at the highest level over the past year and a half. The consumer price index (CPI) increased 2.8 percent year-on-year. The index advanced 0.7 percent in August compared with the previous month.
An increase in CPI was due to a rise in food cost lasting longer than expected. According to experts, food prices grew 10 percent from August last year. The cost of non-food products also rose 1.1% after 1.3% increase in July. Analysts believe that US-China trade tensions have contributed to the price uplift. Excluding volatile food and energy prices, China’s core inflation was 1.5% unlike 1.6% in July. The producer price index dropped 0.8 percent. That is the highest level over the past three years, the National Bureau of Statistics indicated.

Virtual assistants will appear in the future
In 1984, in an interview with Newsweek's Access Magazine Jobs described computers as “agents” that could keep information, learn their owners’ interests, interact with them, and anticipate what they want thus becoming “a little person inside that box”.
Twenty years later, Siri, Alexa, and similar virtual assistants became indispensable for millions of people.
Online car ordering
In 1996, in an interview with Wired, Jobs predicted the emergence of Tesla or at least Tesla’s business model. He explained that auto dealerships spent billions of dollars on inventory. However, clients could not find a car that would meet their preferences in color and configuration. Thus, managers faced a lot of problems trying to sell cars. “Wouldn't it be nice to get rid of all that inventory? Just have one white car to drive and maybe a laserdisc, so you can look at the other colors. Then you order your car and you get it in a week," Jobs said to Wired.

Iran’s oil sales plunge due to US sanctions but crude export remains high |
The US sanctions against Iran’s oil industry have resulted in more than 80% exports contraction. However, Iranian crude oil sales remain high, around $500 million per month. That is the maximum level, experts say. The White House restrictions have had almost no impact on the country’s export of raw materials, in particular fuel oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). According to Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh, oil supplies reached historic highs last month.
FGE consulting company estimated that Iranian LPG exports ranged from 400 thousand to 500 thousand barrels per day. According to Refinitiv Eikon, Iran exported over 230 thousand barrels of fuel oil per day in August. Interestingly, the total volume of supplies from Iran went to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). With the current oil prices, such sales result in more than $300 million revenue per month, according to experts’ estimates. Kpler analysts say that the country’s LPG export was 514 thousand tons in July this year, or almost 200 thousand barrels per day. The total cost of crude oil has exceeded $180 million.

US - China battle of tariffs going on |
The trade conflict between the US and China sharply escalated on September 1. Washington imposed 15% tariffs on popular imports from China such as clothes, footwear, and gadgets, including speakers, smart watches, and Bluetooth headphones. The new tariffs target China’s goods worth $125 billion. With the latest move, now the US collects duties on all imports from China. In response, Beijing slapped a 5% tariff on US crude oil for the first time since the trade war broke out. China’s authorities compiled the list of 1,717 items originating from the US which would be subject to levies until December 15, 2019. Beijing has already begun to collect tariffs on the US imports worth $75 billion. Additional tariffs on the rest of the items will come into force on December 15.
Nevertheless, mutual restrictions did not cancel a new round of the high-level trade talks. Donald Trump confirmed that the trade talks would restart in October. The President aims to ease US dependence on China. So, he called on American companies to seek alternative suppliers outside China. "China has been ripping this country off for 25 years,» the US leader made strongly-worded comments on a variety of tariffs on China’s imports.
