Five Least Visited Countries |
There are many places in the world we call paradise. The places no human has ever set foot on. The majority of them are situated in the middle of nowhere. These are the destinations only sophisticated travelers can reach. Read our article to learn more about five countries with the least number of tourists.
Tuvalu
Tuvalu is a tiny island nation in the southwest of the Pacific Ocean. It consists of four islands and five atolls no higher than 5 m above the sea and 21 km long. Tuvalu is quite vulnerable to climate change and risks to submerge in the nearest future. That’s why its motto invites everyone to visit the country today as tomorrow it may be too late.
Like in all Polynesian countries, Tuvalu’s climate is warm and humid. However, an annual tourist flow is around a thousand people. You can get to the only inhabited island Funafuti is by flying from Fiji airport. The reward will be beautiful beaches, amazing tropical vegetation, clear water and marine biodiversity.
Montserrat
Those who enjoy exploring abandoned cities will appreciate this overseas territory of the UK. Montserrat is located on the island of the same name, which is part of the Lesser Antilles. The only way to reach Montserrat is by plane or by ferry from the islands of Antigua.
The Soufri`ere Hills volcano eruption in 1995 divided the life on the island into before and after. The majority of inhabitants had left the island over 20 years ago with few returned. Currently Montserrat has only two hotels. The majority of the beaches is covered with black volcanic ash.
Kiribati
The Republic of Kiribati is located on the territory of more than thirty coral atolls and volcanic islands in the western part of the Pacific Ocean. The annual tourists flow is no more than 3 thousand people.
To get to this heaven on earth, you need to make several transfers from the continent. However, surfing, beach vacations and diving in Kiribati are worth it. A number of islands are declared marine parks, but the wildlife of Kiribati is extremely poor.
What thrills the most is the fact that the sun rises and the countdown of the day begins in the east of Kiribati.
Comoro Islands
The Comoro Islands are located in the Indian Ocean not far from the north of the Mozambique Channel entrance.Volcano eruptions are still happening there. It is one of the poorest African countries. However, the chain of hotels is well developed. People get here through Paris or Dubai, tours are organized in summer.
Tourists visit the Comoro Islands to see lifeless lava fields and basalt blocks from the eruptions of the Kartala volcano replaced by tropical forests inhabited by exotic animals.
S~ao Tom'e and Pr'incipe
You can get to this island African state located near the equator by plane from Lisbon. Here, in the Gulf of Guinea, tetanus, malaria, and fever happened. However, if the necessary safety measures are taken these places can be quite suitable for a comfortable stay. At the same time there are not so many hotels on the islands.
Apart from the picturesque tropical forests teeming with exotic animals the original Aboriginal culture and colonial-style architecture attract travelers.

Five myths about investment in precious metals |
Investment in key precious metals such as gold and silver have always heated the imagination of investors. There are many myths surrounding precious metals which puzzles the market players. Experts analyzed five misconceptions that confuse beginning investors.
Gold is not money, it is a relic of the past
Many large market players and global central banks have such misleading information. This myth is contrary to the actions of the largest bankers which continue to store and accumulate gold as a reserve. In 2018, central banks around the world, headed by Russia and China, added hundreds of tons of gold to their reserves. In the first quarter of 2019, Russia boosted the purchase of the yellow metal by 68 percent. Gold is not a “barbaric relic” for major world economies striving for independence from the US dollar.
Silver is not a means of payment
Many analysts, who consider the yellow metal to be money, deny this right to the white metal. However, it is wrong. When the United States was founded, the authorities took into account the value of the US dollar to a certain amount of grains of silver which reaffirmed the monetary status of the white metal. Previously, the US dollar was equivalent to 371.25 grains (three quarters of an ounce) of silver. However, later, silver was taken out of circulation and replaced with cheaper metals. At present, silver is not stored in foreign-exchange reserves of some countries and is not purchased by central banks.
Leading precious metals carry risk for investment
This myth is part of the propaganda of Wall Street financiers against the yellow metal. However, a conflict of interest has arisen: the financial industry loses commission fees when investors put their money in safe-haven assets. Analysts vote for a reasonable asset allocation in the investment portfolio where the precious metals account for between 5-10% and 20-25%. Investing in only gold and silver is not recommended, but it is also risky to have no precious metals in the portfolio.
Cryptocurrency is more valuable than gold
Many investors are confused by the term "digital gold", recently appeared amid the development of new means of payment - virtual money. However, cryptocurrencies are not similar to gold and they will hardly be able to replace it. Some market participants believe that the yellow metal is inferior to digital assets, but this is not true. Gold is a time-honored financial cushion which is not the case as for virtual means of payment. The cryptocurrency market is being actively developed, but it is not known whether they will be valuable 100 years later.
Collectors' coins are more profitable than bullion ones
According to experts, such incorrect information is usually provided by merchants of numismatic coins who are trying to sell allegedly rare collectors' coins. Being no judge of the topic, investors buy them and lose out. Such highly profitable and relatively illiquid items as collectors' coins are suitable only for those who have wide experience and knowledge of numismatics. Thus, purchasing ordinary bullion coins is an effective way to invest in precious metals.

Eurozone economic confidence slips to lowest since 2016 |
Economic morale in the eurozone is rapidly deteriorating. The business sentiment indicator has reached its lowest level since March 2016. The decline in business confidence has been observed for several months.
More specifically, the overall index of business and consumer confidence in the economy of the region has dropped to 102.7 points from 103.3 points. The industrial confidence index has slumped to minus 7.4 points from minus 5.6 in June. The manufacturing sector is going through a tough time amid rising tensions in trade relations between countries around the world. As for the service sector, the situation is a bit better, but it is hardly perfect. The services confidence index has plunged from 11.0 to 10.6.
In addition, the things are no better in the retail trade sector, where the business sentiment index has declined from 0.1 points to minus 0.7 points. Morale is also low in the construction industry. The corresponding indicator has decreased from 7.6 to 5. Meanwhile, the consumer confidence index has recovered its losses and improved to minus 6.6 in July from minus 7.2. Such negative data on the business climate for the euro area is likely to serve as a point of reference for further work of the ECB.
Separately, at a recent meeting, the European regulator remained its interest rates unchanged. At the same time, Mario Draghi, the head of the ECB, announced measures to stimulate the economy and stated the need to expand its quantitative easing programme. "The outlook is getting worse and worse, especially in manufacturing," he said. This means that the Central Bank is going to ease the monetary policy in September.

Google faces penalties from Russian Roskomnadzor |
In Russia people have to watch out not only for what they say but also for what they surf on the web. Some countries have their own definition of the Internet freedom that is strictly controlled by the local legislation. Recently, tech giant Google came to experience all the fury of Russian Roskomnadzor (Russian state media censor agency) for not complying with it. It is hard to say now whether the multinational corporation will recover, if ever, after coming face to face with the power of Russian law. Google was fined 700 hundred rubles (that is just about $10,000) for “non-compliance with the legislation on filtering websites prohibited in the Russian Federation”, that is, for the breach of the Law on Information. This law requires search engines to delete search results to banned websites containing prohibited content. However, Roskomnadzor has found out that Google doesn’t bother too much about this rule and filters its traffic rather randomly. Moreover, most of the prohibited links are still stored in the search database.
Actually, the Law on Information was adopted not so long ago,in 2017, and the right to impose fines came into force only last year. The fine varies from 500 to 700 hundred rubles, so Google was charged to the fullest and not for the first time. Earlier, the company got 500,000 rubles fine for "refusing to connect to the federal state information register containing a list of prohibited websites". According to Roskomnadzor, however, Google has already removed up to 80% of the banned websites from its search results.

Oil falls amid easing tensions in Strait of Hormuz |
The Iranian military is not only suffering a crushing defeat in the tanker wars but is also killing oil prices. After sabotaging a number of foreign oil tankers, Iran finally began to receive counter-moves. First, Britain seized an Iranian tanker that smuggled fuel to Syria, and later forced several military boats of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to flee. Meanwhile, the US has shot down an Iranian drone that had approached too close and sent it deep into the ocean. All this has eased tensions in the Strait of Hormuz: commercial shipping has been restored leaving no room for concerns about disruptions in oil supply.
Moreover, continuous worsening prospects of the Chinese economy puts more pressure on oil quotes.
China is the largest oil consumer in the world which means even the slightest change in its demand will have an impact on the market. Given that the trade war between China and the US is still on, the current situation is unlikely to improve pushing oil prices further down.

Five Russian cities with most active investors |
According to the data provided by experts from the Russian Standard Bank, the situation on the deposit market is as follows: Russian investors give preference to the national currency. A small percentage of Russian citizens keep their savings in the US and European currencies. Experts analyzed the geography of investments in the Russian Federation and highlighted five cities where the population is more active in terms of personal savings
Moscow
As the data from the Russian Standard Bank show, citizens of the capital of the Russian Federation are the most advanced in terms of personal savings. The most popular deposits among Moscow residents are ruble. The amount of deposits in euros fell by 22%, while in US dollars rose by 3.4%. The increase of deposits in rubles was 15.5%, experts noted.
St. Petersburg
The second place in terms of deposits and activity of the population goes to Saint Petersburg. According to analysts, the residents of St. Petersburg have more opportunities for income growth with small risks, for example, when buying a particular currency. As noted by the bank's experts, this factor is important for 13% of the respondents.
Nizhny Novgorod
The third place in the ranking of Russian Standard Bank is occupied by Nizhny Novgorod. The majority of the population, namely 69% of the respondents, prefer guaranteed income, for example, ruble deposits at favorable rates. Citizens of other regions of the Russian Federation follow this approach.
Samara
Samara takes the fourth place in the list of Russian cities with the most advanced investors. In this city, as well as in other megacities, there is a tendency among retirees to hold deposits. Many citizens of the Russian Federation are interested in long-term investment such as buying an apartment and its subsequent renting.
Voronezh
Voronezh closes the top 5 Russian cities with the most active investors. Projections of the Russian Standard Bank analysts indicate that the outflow of deposits into the national currency is expected in the near future. In the present situation, the rates for ruble deposits, in contrast to foreign currency deposits, are above the inflation rate. This offers the possibility not only to save money but also to increase savings due to returns on deposits, experts remind.
