Shane West was born in 1978 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He began to pursue an acting career at the age of fifteen, gaining bit parts on various television shows, but it was not until 1999 when West appeared in ABC's "Once and Again" (1999) that he got his major breakthrough. Aside from catapulting to teen heart-throb status with the success of the show, West has made his mark on the screen within such films as Liberty Heights (1999) and Whatever It Takes (2000).
West was subsequently cast opposite singer/actress Mandy Moore in 2002's A Walk to Remember, which was a box office success, grossing $41 million in the United States [1]. He also was in the Mandy Moore music video Cry. In 2003, West appeared in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and in 2004, he joined the cast of NBC's long running medical television series, ER (TV series) as intern/third year resident Ray Barnett. He recently starred in the independent film What We Do Is Secret, playing Darby Crash, a member of the 1970s punk band The Germs; the film has not yet been released. Members of the band were impressed by West's performance and re-formed the band with West taking the deceased Crash's place.

Birth Name: Amanda Leigh Moore
Birth Date: April 10, 1984
Birthplace: Nashua, New Hampshire
Parents: Don (Father), Stacey (Mother)
Ethnicity: English, Irish, Cherokee
Height: 5' 10" (178 cm)

Pre-Pop Music Singer: Before she took the music industry by storm, Moore lived life in relative anonymity. Moore was born in the small town, Nashua in New Hampshire, but her life there was short-lived. She spent most of her childhood in Seminole County, just outside of Orlando, Florida. She barely completed half a year of high school at Bishop Moore Catholic High School before joining the Texas Tech University correspondence program during her Backstreet Boys tour in 1999.

As a child, Moore always aspired to be a professional singer. Blessed with her talented voice, she was chosen to perform the US National Anthem at the beginning of several sporting events in Orlando. Music producers at one of the events took notice.

Rising Pop Music Singer: At the age of 14, after Moore was brought in to record a demo, she signed a record deal with Sony's Epic Records. That led to Moore's first album So Real, released on December 7, 1999. This album would launch the career of a young and budding star. Often associated with the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, Moore's music features the same combination of pop and dance that caught on with young teenagers. Moore's second released album I Wanna Be With You featured much of the same style. Along with recording, Moore was invited to tour with the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync in 1999 to promote her album So Real, further increasing her rising stock. But a Moore started growing older; she took steps to figuring out her true identity.

Image Makeover: Sometime in early 2001, Mandy Moore re-evaluated her previous albums and was pleased with the success. However, she decided that the image she was portraying in those two albums and in her music videos "wasn't her." She chalked it up as young, teenage immaturity and wasn't comfortable performing that style of music and dance anymore. Determined to change her image, while also being more artistically in control of her music, changes were made to her upcoming album. In May 2001, Moore released her third album Mandy Moore, which featured songs with a noticeably different style. The motivation for the self-titled album may have been an attempt by Moore to declare her identity; that the songs in her album represent who she is as a person. Critics hailed the album as one of the more real and fulfilling pop albums on the market. Despite the success of her albums, Moore still felt something was missing in her life.

Mandy, the Actress? Wanting to try something new, Moore decided to dabble in the movie industry. After shooting The Princess Diaries, Moore caught the acting bug and subsequently began shooting more movies. She landed a lead in A Walk To Remember, which further cemented her growing maturity. Released a half year after her third album, Moore dyed her hair for the role. Now a brunette, Moore's life began to open up now that people didn't see her as the blond, pop princess from her early teenage years. The transition was as smooth a transition as anyone could hope for.

Return to Music: While shooting her 4th movie, How to Deal, Moore met rising tennis star, Andy Roddick, who was invited on the set of the movie at the insistence of Moore's mother. The two hit it off and Roddick, as Moore describes it, "stole her heart." The two began dating and soon it became one of the most high-profile relationships among the 12-34 demographic. The two were together for two years, but in 2003, the seams were beginning to fall apart. Suddenly, the two broke it off due to a number of reasons only known to them and those closet to them. Despite the relationship, Moore found time to shoot more movies, while balancing time with recording her fourth album.

In mid-2003, Moore released Coverage, an album featuring songs that had the most influential effect from the 70's an 80's. Although this album sold only 293,000 copies, most of which can be blamed on the awful promotion by Epic Records, it would signal a change in Mandy Moore. The teenager who up until 2003 was known mainly for her pop albums So Real and movie, A Walk to Remember disappeared, replaced by a much more mature 20 year old. Coverage seemed to mirror that change and as a result, Epic Records may not have gotten the type of record that they were expecting from Mandy Moore, and I'm speculating here, but that could be the cause for the poor promotional effort since even I barely knew about it. It looks like Epic never had faith in the album. Not surprisingly, Epic and Mandy dropped their partnership, causing Mandy to search for the next phase of her life.

Where's Mandy? In the months after Coverage was released, Mandy Moore had a couple more movies coming out, Chasing Liberty and Saved! Both did relatively mediocre at the box office, but when you watch the movies, you can definitely see some of what makes Mandy Moore special. Chasing Liberty also starred Matthew Goode and that one guy from NCIS (Mark Harmon). Mandy played the elegant, but often mischevious Anna Foster, the president's daughter. The movie also featured a skinny dipping scene in the "Danube," which was a body double. In Saved! Mandy played the devout Christian, Hilary Faye. The role brought out a different side to what we usually see from her, since Hilary often displayed evil traits as a product of her devotion to Christianity. After these two movies, Mandy signed up for Romance & Cigarettes and Southland Tales. To this day, we are still waiting for their release. This caused Mandy a year-long absence from the mainstream media, since the movies she made were not making it to theaters. So in essence, Mandy disppeared for a bit, and when she finally returned to the big screen, we continued to see a changing Mandy Moore.

Zach Braff Era: After a nearly two year absence of Mandy Moore projects, fans finally were able to see her onscreen, this time on American Dreamz. During the time leading up to Dreamz, Mandy began dating Scrubs star Zach Braff and they had a relatively long relationship and it even led to Mandy appearing on a couple episodes of Braff's show. However, as with her relationship with Andy Roddick, it mysteriously ended and of course, there was much speculation about what happened. Meanwhile, in addition to American Dreamz, Mandy Moore revealed that she was returning to the recording studio with her new label, Sire Records, a division of Warner Brothers music. As of early 2006, there was much optimism about the pending album, code name: Slummin' in Paradise. It would be the first album that Mandy would personally pen. Everything looked like it was on track and everyone waited for an official release date. Unfortunately, as American Dreamz opened in April, there were also rumors that things weren't so great with Mandy and Warner Brothers music.

From the split to Wild Hope: Sandwiched in the middle of the music conflict was the release of Because I Said So in February 2007. The film ended up grossing over $40 million dollars in the U.S. and it exceeded A Walk to Remember in domestic earnings. However, the movie success did not translate to her music. According to several reports, Warner Brothers signed on with Mandy expecting she would produce more of a pop album. Mandy, not a teenager anymore, thought differently and they could not iron out the differences. In late May 2006, Mandy and Warner Brothers amicably parted ways and Mandy's future in the music business looked very cloudy. But then came July 7, 2006 where Mandy announced that she had signed with a new startup recording label, Firm Music. With this label, Mandy and producer John Alagia had the freedom to create the type of album that she intended to create. Through this process that was "like therapy" according to Mandy, she consulted with artists: Rachael Yamagata, Lori McKenna, and The Weepies. The product of their collaborations and her own artistic penmanship, comes Wild Hope.

Wild Hope and Beyond: The Firm released Wild Hope on June 19, 2007 and it got a relatively lukewarm response from the general audience. Mandy Moore fans were delighted that she finally came out with a new album, but it seems like it didn't attract the general population. The album peaked at #30 in the Billboard charts and it spent a total of 7 weeks on the charts. Album sales amounted to approximately 80,000 as of November, which is a disappointing number given Mandy Moore's singing talent.

Part of the reason for the poor response could have stemmed from a poor marketing strategy from the Firm. Their online presence has received the most criticism from fans as the Firm has chosen to publicize Mandy Moore through social networking profiles like Facebook and Buzznet, neither of which Mandy directly controls, instead of holding more public events where fans actually get the opportunity to meet the singer behind Wild Hope. Mandy did go on road, first in the West, then across other stops in the U.S. where she held her first concerts in several years. She was excited to be back on stage, but several stops failed to draw large crowds. However, in general, reviews for Mandy's performances on stage were good and critics liked the new direction that Mandy took with her music. But poor public relations with her fans and the failure to publicize the CD to the general population led to a disappointing album and it might affect future albums. Mandy could either turn her back on the music industry and focus on acting or she and the Firm can learn from their mistakes and strive to create a better album in terms of marketing. There was nothing wrong with the songs themselves.

Break: After completing her tour in October, Mandy Moore went on a personal break, which was very much deserved after a hectic 2-year run. She is currently not signed up for any movies and is not officially planning a new album. However, Southland Tales came out in November, two years after it was filmed, and it looks like it's gonna be the last movie featuring Mandy Moore for a while. This is a time for her to recharge her batteries and to hopefully gear up for another round of projects soon. Of course, the current writers strike has put a stop to new scripts, and could affect the number of new opportunities that Mandy usually gets in a year.

Music stardom. Film stardom. Will Mandy Moore please make up her mind? Does she even have to? With the recent release of the film, How To Deal, and two others, Saved, and Chasing Liberty set for release in 2004, Mandy Moore is also exploring her musical future with heartfelt interpretations of some of the greatest songs of the past with her new album, Coverage. "I feel like I've moved beyond this pristine bubble gum image that most of the world has had of me," she says. "I know people are going to think, 'Who is Mandy Moore and what makes her think she has the right to cover Elton John and Todd Rundgren?' But I am doing it out of love for these brilliant songs and their creative lyrics and melodies."

Mandy Moore's Coverage includes twelve classic pop/rock anthems and ballads from the 1970s and 80s. Adding a soulfulness to Todd Rundgren's "Can We Still Be Friends," putting a Nashville twang to Carly Simon's " Anticipation," and rocking out on Joan Armatrading's rollicking "Drop The Pilot," Moore reinvents the music and herself.

After giving herself a crash course in singer-songwriter, rock and folk music from that era, Mandy, along with producer John Fields (Andrew WK), also unearthed and updated lesser-known pop gems. XTC.s .Senses Working Overtime. kicks off Coverage with modern DJ scratches. Departing from the current dance/pop sound, Moore.s version of Elton John's "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" is bolstered with countrified mandolin and lush string arrangements, while The Waterboys' "Whole of The Moon" achieves a symphonic splendor with a full brass section.

Certain to appeal to fans of the originals, Moore is equally eager to introduce Coverage to people her own age. "I love what they're saying," she says of such artists as Joe Jackson ("Breaking Us In Two") and John Hiatt ("Have A Little Faith In Me") "It's universal, it's timeless, it's done in a way that's not so homogenized. Back then things were a little bit more wholesome; not everything had to be out there in such an abrasive, aggressive way."

Over the past five years, Mandy Moore has pursued her artistic goals, achieving the kind of crossover success most performers and teenagers only dream about. She has released four best-selling albums: her 1999 platinum debut, So Real, which included the smash single, "Candy," and three huge follow-ups; the 2000 Special Edition album, I Wanna Be With You; 2001's Mandy Moore and the soundtrack to her 2002 hit film A Walk To Remember. She has also hosted her own show on MTV, and after receiving the MTV Movie Award for Breakthrough Performance in A Walk To Remember, Mandy is winning critical raves for her refreshing screen presence and impressive dramatic and comedic performances in major Hollywood productions (A Walk To Remember, How To Deal) and independent film (Saved).

She has matured from a young blonde pop singer to a sophisticated brunette with a thirst for knowledge and experience, particularly when it comes to her work. "Acting has brought emotional depth to my singing and my voice has gotten deeper, even from six months ago," she says, and there is evidence of that in her intonations on Blondie's "One Way Or Another."

My tastes are changing," Mandy says. "I've just grown up, and I think that's reflected in every aspect of my life, as an artist and as a person." Discovering the songs for Coverage, Mandy says, "I felt so privy to this knowledge of what the music world was like when singer-songwriters completely dominated the scene. It seemed so much more magical then than it does now. It's cool to break it down and get back to a time when it was about the music, not the videos, publicity shoots, and what tests better at radio."

Though she has begun to write her own songs, "it's a hard job and it's something I completely and utterly respect," Mandy says. "As a result of doing Coverage, I have a much broader appreciation for singer-songwriters then and now and I hope to be a part of the club one day."

Right now, however, Mandy Moore is working overtime. Currently in Europe filming a romantic comedy about the daughter of the U.S. President (Chasing Liberty), Mandy is preparing for a busy summer and fall. This July sees the release of How To Deal, a film in which she plays a high school girl who has gone sour on love and in early fall, there's Coverage and the Michael Stipe (Being John Malkovich, Velvet Goldmine)- produced black comedy Saved, in which Mandy plays "the perfect Christian girl who uses her personal relationship with Jesus to take advantage of everyone."

And after that? "My plan is that I have no plan," Mandy admits. .I want to get back on the road, especially with this music. Emphasizing that Coverage .an album with real musicians playing real instruments,. is very much a progression in her career as a recording artist, Mandy Moore is confident about the next stage of her musical development. .I just want to be on stage, connecting with an audience, and continue to test my boundaries,. she says with a smile.

Early life

Moore was born in Nashua, New Hampshire to Stacy (a former newspaper reporter) and Don Moore (a pilot for American Airlines). Moore has Irish and Cherokee heritage on her father's side. Her maternal grandfather was Jewish and her English maternal grandmother was a professional dancer at the theater district in the West End of London, as well as a Wren during WWII; the two met and eloped to the United States after Moore's maternal grandfather, an American soldier, was stationed in London during WWII. Moore has two brothers, Scott and Kyle; she grew up in Seminole County, Florida, outside of Orlando, moving there shortly after her birth because of her father's job. Moore was raised in the Catholic religion (although she is no longer a practicing Catholic), and attended Bishop Moore Catholic High School and Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs.

Moore's interest in singing grew after seeing the musical Oklahoma!; she was also encouraged to perform by her maternal grandmother, who was her inspiration. After Moore performed the National anthem at a several athletic events, she was spotted by a FedEx employee who sent her demo to Epic Records. Moore was subsequently signed to a record deal by the company.

Music Career - 1999-2002: Early Pop Albums

The album, Moore's first, was certified platinum. Moore toured with the Backstreet Boys throughout 1999. Her first album, So Real, was released on December 7, 1999. The album reached a peak of #31 on the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart. At the time of her album's release, Moore was considered by reviewers to be the latest in a series of heavily-marketed female singers described as "pop princesses", akin to Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Jessica Simpson; Entertainment Weekly's review noted that Moore's songs, revolving around "not-yet-experienced love", were performed with "suffocating professionalism", but specified that the ballads were "nauseating". Moore was the last, and youngest, out of Simpson, Aguilera and Spears to reach mainstream radio, and was initially not as successful as the they were, although So Real was certified platinum in the US by early 2000 and sold 943,000 copies; Her debut single, "Candy", described as "strangely provocative" by Yahoo! Movies, peaked at #41 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold. All Music Guide noted that the single was "mediocre" and "typical", containing lyrics that described love "in terms of sugar treats".

Moore released a re-worked version of the debut album, entitled I Wanna Be with You, on May 9, 2000, six months after So Real's release. The album, which was mostly completed with synthesizers, as well as bass, guitar, and drums, included several new songs, along with tracks and remixes from So Real. Several reviewers criticized it as a remix album and not a true followup, with All Music Guide specifying that the album's style was "trashier, flashier, gaudier, and altogether more disposable" then its predecessor. The album reached a peak of #21 on the Billboard 200; it was later certified gold in the US and sold 792,000 copies. The title track was the only single from the album and reached a peak of #24 on the Hot 100, which remains Moore's highest peak to date. The song was also featured on the soundtrack of the film Center Stage (2000).

Moore released the self-titled album Mandy Moore on June 19, 2001. The album, which contained uptempo tracks and influences from Eastern music, was described as a "lush, layered production" by All Music Guide and included the songs "Saturate Me" (a hip-hop ballad), "You Remind Me" and "In My Pocket". It received mixed reviews from critics, although Entertainment Weekly noted that Moore tried out "new sounds" and "a Natalie Imbruglia vibe" in the album and that as "teen pop goes, it could be a lot worse", while Rolling Stone magazine gave it a positive review, specifying that Moore was "more protorocker than R&B wanna-be" and that she was taking the "high road" compared to her first two albums. The album debuted at #35 on the Billboard 200. It was later certified gold in the US and sold 443,000 copies. The lead single, "In My Pocket", which was described by Entertainment Weekly as containing "pumping, Indian influenced Euro disco", did not appear on the Hot 100; however, Moore performed the song live several times, including at the 2001 Fox network television special, "Teenapalooza". The album's follow-up single, "Crush", also failed to appear on the domestic charts, although the music video was frequently aired on MTV. It went on to be Moore's first number one video on TRL, where she also performed the song live. The final single, "Cry", was released in early 2002 and tied-in with the film A Walk to Remember, which was Moore's debut as a lead actress.

In 2006, Moore looked back at her early music albums with ill feelings, noting that although she believes her first album was appropriate for her age, she believes it "sucked" and that her first albums were "just awful". Moore further specified that she "would give a refund to everyone who bought my first two albums" if she could; during a radio show interview in April 2006, she was asked for a refund on the first album by the show's co-host, who had seen her comments. Moore personally provided the refund.

2003-present: Coverage, compilations, and new contract

The album was Moore's fourth, and her personal favorite. On October 21, 2003, Moore released her fourth album, Coverage. The record, described by All Music Guide as a "leap to musical maturity" and as a possible "effort to shed her bubblegum-blond image" by Entertainment Weekly, consisted entirely of cover versions of songs from the 1970s and 1980s that Moore was influenced by as a child. Entertainment Weekly described the album's style as "overblown with strings, turntable scratching, and arena-rock pomp", while E! Online detailed that Moore's voice has grown "stronger" and that she "sounds at home" performing the re-mixes. Moore has noted that she did not want to "top the original artist[s]", but rather to offer her "own interpretation" of their music. The album peaked at #14 on the Billboard 200 (her highest ranking to date), but "Have a Little Faith in Me", the only single from the album, failed to perform well on the charts, debuting at #39 on the top 40. Moore's cover of "I Feel the Earth Move" also appeared on Love Rocks, a compilation CD of songs from gay rights supporters.

Due to low sales for Coverage, Moore was dropped from Sony's Epic Records. As a last obligation to Moore's contract, the company released a final album, The Best of Mandy Moore, on November 16, 2004. The album included all of Moore's biggest hits from the previous five years, and reached #148 on the Billboard 200. A final compilation album, Candy, was released by the company in 2005.

In early 2006, Moore stated that she misses her music career, having not produced any new music since 2003, and noted that singing is what she is the "most passionate about". According to her official website, she is collaborating with several artists, including Chantal Kreviazuk, Michelle Branch, and Rachael Yamagata, on a new album. Moore had initially signed to Epic Records after her contract with Sire Records was over, but left the company in May of 2006, and was announced to have signed with a new record company, The Firm, owned by EMI Music, in July of that year. Moore describes her new contract as "especially exciting", and plans to release her next album in 2007.

Television and film career

During the summer of 2000, Moore hosted a half-hour talk show, the Mandy Moore Show, on MTV; the series resumed in the summer of 2001, under the title Mandy. Moore was also a Neutrogena spokesperson, appearing in commercials as well as print ads for the product. She has also modelled for Coach handbags in Japan and was a spokesperson for the School and Youth Programs of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Moore in her starring role debut, A Walk to Remember, 2002. The film remains her highest-grossing lead role to dateIn 2001, Moore appeared in a small part as the mean and popular cheerleader Lana Thomas opposite actresses Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews in the film The Princess Diaries. During the film, Moore's character performs "Stupid Cupid", a song from the film's soundtrack. In 2002, Moore had her first starring role in a major feature film in A Walk to Remember, opposite actor Shane West. The movie, based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, revolves around the developing romance between a Protestant minister's daughter (played by Moore) and an unruly teenager. The film was considered a moderate success, bringing in $41 million in the United States and establishing Moore's status as a lead actress. Although the film was negatively received by critics, Moore received several positive notices for her performance, with critic Roger Ebert noting that she was "quietly convincing". At that summer's MTV Movie Awards, Moore won an award for Breakthrough Female Performance for the role. The same year, she voiced the Final Fantasy VII character Aerith Gainsborough in the Square Enix-Disney crossover video game Kingdom Hearts, was featured in the music video for Elton John's "Original Sin", and was ranked #67 in Stuff magazine's "102 Sexiest Women In The World".

In 2003, Moore starred in the romantic comedy film How to Deal. The movie failed to draw in the teenage crowds in the United States, and grossed a total of $14 million domestically. Moore's next film was 2004's Chasing Liberty, a romantic comedy which grossed approximately $12 million. Both films received negative reviews, but critic Roger Ebert once again singled Moore's performances out, noting in his review of How to Deal that Moore has "an unaffected natural charm" and "almost makes the movie worth seeing", and commenting that she has "undeniable screen presence and inspires instant affection" in his review of Chasing Liberty. Other critics described her as an "actress of limited range", though one review of Chasing Liberty noted that she is the "most painless of former pop princesses". Later that summer, Moore appeared in a lead role in Saved!, a satire on religion, playing Hilary Faye, a proper and popular girl at a Christian school. The film, which did not receive a wide release, was positively reviewed. Moore received praise for her performance, with one critic commenting that she was a "demented delight", and another saying that it was her best performance to date.

In 2005, Moore lent her voice to the movie Racing Stripes. She has also appeared on the television series Entourage, and guest-starred in two episodes of Scrubs in 2006. The same year, she lent her voice to The Simpsons, playing Tabitha Vixx, a dominatrix. The episode aired on May 21, 2006.

Moore's most recent film, which opened on April 21, 2006, is the parody American Dreamz, in which she plays a deranged contestant on a television series modelled after American Idol. The film's director, Paul Weitz, had Moore in mind for the role even before she was cast, saying that "there's something inherently sweet about Mandy; it makes it all the more interesting to see her in a villainess role"; Moore has said that she enjoys playing mean-spirited characters, but fears being typecast as a villain. American Dreamz opened in 1,500 theatres and grossed $ 3,667,420 during its opening weekend, reaching the #9 spot at the United States box office. The film received mixed reviews,[64] though critic Owen Gleiberman of Entertainment Weekly noted that Moore and co-star Hugh Grant have a "wicked barbed chemistry" in their roles, while Robert Koehler of Variety described Moore's role as a "pitch-perfect study of a woman for whom a reality show is reality".

Moore on the cover of Cosmopolitan, May 2006. She has expressed dissatisfaction with the cover's "racy" headlines. Moore, citing her conservative upbringing, has expressed dissatisfaction with her appearance on a May 2006 cover of Cosmopolitan, as the magazine's headline is "orgasms unlimited", referring to an article unrelated to Moore. Moore's upcoming films include Southland Tales and Dedication, which are currently slated for a 2006 release, and Because I Said So, which will be released on February 2, 2007, co-starring Piper Perabo and Diane Keaton. She was also originally supposed to appear in the ensemble film Bobby, but was replaced by actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead.[69] In May 2006, Moore began filming a romantic comedy entitled License to Wed, in which she portrays a young bride who has to complete a two-week prenup course before her wedding. The film, co-starring John Krasinski as her fiance and Robin Williams as a minister, is being filmed in Mexico and Los Angeles.

Personal life

Moore dated actor Wilmer Valderrama for eighteen months between 2000 and 2002; in 2006, Valderrama appeared on the Howard Stern Show and detailed that he and Moore were each other's "first loves." Although he did not claim that their relationship was sexual as was alleged by several media sources who had misquoted his exact comments. Moore has since referred to Valderrama as a "good guy" and a "gentleman", although she has also stated that his comments about their relationship were "utterly tacky". In 2002, Moore started dating tennis star Andy Roddick. The couple were together for sixteen months; Roddick ended the relationship in March of 2004. She also dated Philippines-born singer/actor Billy Crawford for a "few months" when she was younger.

In 2004, Moore began dating Scrubs actor Zach Braff. The two met at a fundraising event for the Democratic Party around the time of the November 2004 election. Referring to her relationship with Braff, Moore has said that she likes "good Jewish boy(s)... with a sense of humor". Rumours that the couple are engaged have been denied by both parties. In early June of 2006, tabloids reported unconfirmed rumors that Braff and Moore had ended their relationship; however, around the same time period, the couple were announced to have arranged a week-long trip to Israel together, scheduled for July of 2006.

Moore's favorite musicians are Elton John, Janet Jackson, and Bette Midler;[10] Midler is also Moore's favorite actress, and her film Beaches was Moore's favorite film when she was a teenager. Moore, who describes herself as a "glass-half-full kind of person", also enjoys Annie Hall and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. She currently lives in her Hollywood Hills house, along with her brother, Kyle. Moore considers herself spiritual, and has said that she does not think of herself as distinctly Catholic nor Christian.

The sultry Shane West -- a Gemini whose genuine handsomeness is doubly effective in combination with his mesmerizing raspy voice -- made his mark on the Hollywood scene within the realm of teen drama. Beginning with appearances on television shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Picket Fences, West was soon cast as a more permanent staple in teenage tube-life, as well as on the big screen.

West was born on June 10, 1978, in Baton Rouge, LA, where he spent his life until he made the decision to pursue an acting career in 1995. Upon moving to L.A., West found much success on dramatic television, landing a starring role on ABC's Once and Again (1999) as Eli Sammler after appearing in the Showtime original movie The Westing Game (1997). A more contemporary rendition of the Cyrano de Bergerac story, Whatever It Takes (2000) featured a book-smart West. He appeared in Dracula in 2000, and made a cameo in the 2001 remake of Ocean's Eleven.

Huge publicity surrounding the pop superstar status of Mandy Moore brought West much attention as her love interest in 2002's A Walk to Remember. From the cool crowd, West's character, Landon Carter, learns of matters of a deeper significance during his interaction with Jamie Sullivan (Moore). West's adoring fan base increased in significance as well in his role as sexy and romantic Landon. Sarah Sloboda, All Movie Guide
