x_maricca_x все записи автора A brave Shropshire youngster who is battling cancer enjoyed a dream come true after meeting her favourite band, McFly.

Sophie Foxley, of Bicton Heath in Shrewsbury, who is suffering from leukaemia, was given a personal invitation by the band to visit them before they played a gig in Wolverhampton last night.

She has already received many gifts from the group including a signed photo and T-shirt which was given to her after Shropshire Star’s electronic editor Chris Leggett managed to get in touch with the band.

Eight-year-old Sophie even played her own guitar to the band, which she got for Christmas. The singers then signed the instrument for her. They also invited her to the concert, but Sophie could not go in case of infection.

So instead the chart-topping pop group treated her to an exclusive performance while they ran through their sound check.

Sophie said: “It was really good. My favourite band member is Tom. I thought it was really cool they signed my guitar.

“I played for them. They said I was better than they were when they were my age.”

Mum Jane Foxley said: “They came into the room on skateboards and said hello.

“They signed her guitar and took some photos. They said we could go to the concert but we said we couldn’t go as it would be too much for Sophie really.

“They let us in for an exclusive performance when they were doing their sound checks though. She really enjoyed it. She is very lucky to meet her favourite band.”
