Alexisonfire – группа крайностей: жесткая и мягкая, ужасная и красивая, поэтичная и непристойная, очевидная и непознанная. Вы можете думать о ней как хотите. Ей все равно на Ваше мнение наплевать…

Alexisonfire появились в андерграудных кругах южного Онтарио в конце 2001 года. Даллас, Уэйд, Джордж, Джесси и Крис не только поразили критиков своим двояким подходом к написанию песен, но и заявили о своем высочайшем музыкальном профессионализме.

Это музыка для обоих полушарий Вашего мозга. В левом ухе звучат жалостливые и мелодичные нотки вокала Далласа, разбавленные дьявольскими сладкими напевами второго гитариста, Уэйда. А в это время в правом ухе Джордж надрывается так, как будто его месяц держали в темном подвале, да еще и не кормили при том. Как будто голова оказалась между сидящими на плечах дьяволом и ангелом, предлагающими две различные интерпретации одной и той же истории.

Alexisonfire знали, что фанаты – люди неглупые. Они не поведутся на пустышку. В случае с Alexisonfire все произошло по нарастающей: они рассказали двум своим друзьям, которые рассказали двум другим друзьям и т.д. Уже в 2002 они выпускают одноименный дебютник, и в этом же году собирают целый букет наград, в том числе и за лучшее видео (“Pulmonary Archery”). Но при всем при этом AOF остались тяжелой группой – они сами кто-то определили свой звук как «издаваемый двумя ученицами католической школы, дерущихся на ножах». Таково Вы еще не слышали.

Столь ожидаемый второй альбом группы увидел свет 29 июня 2004 года. И, надо сказать, что он получился очень даже неплохим, некоторые моменты в нем вообще шедевральны, но это уже не совсем тот фирменный скрежещущий звук Alexisonfire, что мы знали раньше… AOF повзрослели и их музыка повзрослела вместе с ними…

Alexisonfire – эмо-битлз наших дней, приставившие нож к Вашему горлу. Сопротивление бесполезно...
