24 июля 1970 года в семье пуэрториканцев в Южном Бронксе в Нью-Йорке родилась малышка, которую назвали Дженнифер Линн Лопес. Папа крошки работал компьютерщиком в фирме, а мама - воспитателем в детском садике. Росла будущая звездочка очень боевым ребенком. В школе ни один мальчишка не имел славы такого отъявленного драчуна как малютка Джен. Она во всем старалась быть первой и все споры сразу решала кулачками. Синяки и ссадины - это пустяки, главное - она лучшая!

С самого раннего детства маленькую Дженни повсюду окружает музыка. В ее районе звучат совершенно разные ритмы: сальса, моренга и багота, поп, хип-хоп и R&B, и все это впитывает в себя малышка. Придет время и все это выльется в ее собственный стиль - латиноамериканский соул, в котором она запишет свой первый альбом. Но до этого еще далеко. В ее семье пели все - и Гваделупа (мама), и ее муж Джим (папа), и все три дочки, включая Дженнифер, конечно. 

Ее сестра, Лесли, пела замечательно, хотя была полной противоположностью Дженни, и Гваделупа считала, что ее голосок заслуживает того, чтобы потратить какую-то сумму на ее обучение. Джей же она хотела поскорей выдать замуж. Ей было всего 12, а все мысли уже полностью были заняты мальчиками. Но и той удалось унять разбушевавшуюся Дженни только обещанием заплатить за ее уроки вокала и танцев. Но не только музыка привлекала юную звезду. Ее манило и кино. И уже в 16 лет Джен снялась в своем первом фильме "My little girl". После окончания школы Дженнифер недолго проработала в юридической фирме и не выдержав ушла. Разве может сравниться эта скучнейшая работа с шоу-бизнесом!

В 18 лет, подумав что она стала совсем самостоятельной, маленькая актриса ушла из дома, окончательно решив посвятить свою жизнь сцене. И отправилась она в Город Ангелов на поиски славы. Сначала танцевала в шоу "In living color", а в перерывах бегала на бесконечные пробы, нужно же было пробиваться наверх.

В начале 90-х Дженни мелькала в характерных, но мало кому запоминающихся ролях в телесериалах. Но при этом появилась в эпизодах у крупных кинорежиссеров: у Фрэнсиса Форда Копполы в фильме "Jack", в роли хорошенькой учительницы мисс Маркес, и Боба Рэйфельсона в триллере "Blood and wine" в роли Габриэллы. На съемках этого фильма начинающая актриса познакомилась со своим первым мужем, кубинским эмигрантом Оджани Ноа, работавшим официантом в ресторане. А вот теперь и наступает звездный час для Джей Ло! В 1996 году она выигрывает национальный конкурс на главную роль в фильме "Selena", снятом о жизни и творчестве певицы Селены Квинтаниллы. Фильм был очень успешным в прокате, а потрясающая игра Джен безумно понравилась критикам и принесла ей одни восхищения. Но одними восхищениями сыта не будешь, и Дженни в придачу к этому получает еще и "Золотой Глобус" в номинации "Лучшая актриса" и гонорар в 1.000.000$, что сделало ее самой высокооплачиваемой латиноамериканской актрисой. Но настоящую славу и всеобщую любовь, Дженнифер принес следующий ее фильм "Anaconda", выпущенный в 1997 году. А здесь как и подобает звезде, Дженнифер решила на время отдохнуть от кино и обратить свой взор в другую сферу шоу-бизнеса, которой она тоже интересовалась с детства. Но не забыла при этом озвучить роль Ацтеки в мультике "Antz". В 1999 году Дженни выпускает свой дебютный заводной альбом "On the 6", который еще до 2000 года разошелся тиражем более 6,25 млн. копий. Название Джен выбирала сама и не случайное. 6-я линия нью-йоркского метро знакома ей с детства. По ней она ездила в Манхэттен на свои уроки танцев и музыки, когда была малышкой. Самый громкий сингл с этого альбома - If you had my love. В этом же году Джей Ло начинает встречаться с известным скандалистом-рэппером Паффом Дэдди. Их роман продолжался 2 года, но 14 февраля (прямо в День Всех Влюбленных) 2001 года они расстались.

2000 же год ознаменовался выходом  фантастического триллера "The cell", где Дженни играет роль очаровательного психотерапевта. Теперь уже звезда не забывала и о музыке, продолжая сниматься в кино. И в 2001 году выпускает альбом "j.Lo" (название альбома - это прозвище Джен), который разошелся тиражем 10 млн. На съемках клипа Love don't cost a thing Джей Ло знакомится с симпатяшкой-танцором  Крисом Джаддом. А в марте за ручку появляются на церемонии вручения "Оскара", через месяц после официального разрыва с Паффом. 29 сентября влюбленные поженились в поместье Колд Крик, в горах к северу от Лос-Анжелеса.

В этом же, 2001 году выходит милая романтическая комедия "The Wedding Planner" и мелодрама "Angel Eyes", конечно же с Дженнифер Лопес в главной роли. Через 10 месяцев после свадьбы Дженни и Крис разводятся. Уже после развода выходят картины "Maid in Manhattan" и "Enough". Иногда на Джен накатывали приступы настоящей депрессии. 2 неудачных брака очень давили на нее. "Остались ли настоящие мужчины на свете?" - задавала себе вопрос звезда. И тут появляется прямо-таки принц на белом коне. Настоящим бальзамчиком для ее истерзанного сердечка становится партнер по фильму "Gigli" красавчик-супермен Бен Эффлек. Потом они снялись вместе в фильме "Jersey Girl", планировали свою свадьбу, которую перенесли из-за слишком большой шумихи прессы. Но ей так и не суждено было состояться. В январе Джен и Бен расстались, что для многих стало полной неожиданностью и подняло новую волну всяких слухов в прессе. Истинная причина разрыва до сих пор точно неизвестна, да и не думаю, что правду мы когда-нибудь узнаем. Сама Дженни сказала, что больше терпеть страсть к азартным играм она не смогла. Возможно, также причиной стал просто зверский брачный контракт, который составила Дженнифер.  Уже через несколько месяцев после расставания с Беном, Дженни начала встречаться с Марком Энтони, роман с которым уже был у нее в прошлом. И вот прямо как горм среди ясного неба прозвучала новость: "Дженнифер Лопес вышла замуж за Марка Энтони!" Церемония состоялась 5 июня в поместье Дженняшки в Беверли Хиллс. Это уже третий брак для нее, и ее это нисколько не смущает. Надеюсь, на этот раз Джен нашла настоящее СЧАСТЬЕ и ЛЮБОВЬ и, конечно же, настоящего МУЖЧИНУ!
