United National Movement ერთიანი ნაციონალური მოძრაობა United National Movement
United National Movement (Georgian: ერთიანი ნაციონალური მოძრაობა, Ertiani Natsionaluri Modzraoba, ENM) is the largest political organisation and current governing party in Georgia. UNM was founded in October 2001 by Mikheil Saakashvili. It is a reformist party and favors closer ties with the NATO and European Union, as well as the restoration of Tbilisi's control over the separatist self-proclaimed states of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Leaders of UNM label themselves as liberal-conservative and in September 2007, the party became an observer member of the center-right European People's Party (EPP). Mikhail Saakashvili on May 22, 2008 announced his confident victory for his ruling party in parliamentary polls amid fears of political unrest, and rising tensions between Georgia and Russia. Early official results indicated his United National Movement had 63% of the votes against the opposition's 13%, with about a quarter of the 3,664 precincts.

New Right ახალი მემარჯვენეები New Rights Party of Georgia
The New Rights Party of Georgia has played a particularly important role in the present-day political life of Georgia. The idea to establish the NRP began to emerge during the time when Eduard Shevardnadze was still President and his Citizens’ Union of Georgia (CUG) was an influential force on the political stage of the country. On September 17, 2000, in order to change the ongoing political processes to the benefit of the country, the New Faction (Group) was created in the Parliament that elected David Gamkrelidze as its chairman. The original membership of the New Faction consisted of David Gamkrelidze (presently NRP chairman), Levan Gachechiladze, Pikria Chikhradze, Gia Karkarashvili, Irakli Iashvili, David Saganelidze (presently NCP Secretary General), David Koghuashvili, Dodo Shelia, George Kvirikashvili, and Valeri Kvaratskhelia. On June 15, 2001, on the basis of the New Faction, New Movement, and Neo-Conservative Union, a new political party - the New Conservative Party of Georgia - was formed. Levan Gachechiladze was elected as NCP chairman and David Gamkrelidze as co-chairman.
