I set about poring a lot of 'domestos' in in filling with chilly water, let it stand and drained it and crammed it and so on. 10 times and it appeared to take away black mess from contained in the pipes.

- Sodium hydroxide is odorless; thus, odor offers no warning of hazardous concentrations.
Do not multitask clearing yr drains & cleaning yr washing machine for similar reasons. (Caustic soda powder make wash machine go bang. caustic soda liquid .)

What happens when you mix vinegar and baking soda?
For softening your clothes, add the vinegar to your fabric softener dispenser. To fight mild odors, add it directly to the washing machine basin during the rinse cycle, or use it in place of regular detergent and add it again during the rinse cycle if you need to remove really strong odors.
However, sodium hydroxide isn't used as a major normal as a result of it is hygroscopic and absorbs carbon dioxide from air. Unfortunately, the machine was still switched on and the amount of water was sufficient to start out the machine and I obtained
