Yesterday my neighbor, the lover of riddles, came to see me after his long business trip.
We were sitting and talking about his life in Germany. Then he asked me about his riddle which he had asked me in February. WHAT IS THE GIFT OF THE GODS? I showed him how my students had answered .My students’ answers-.LIFE, WORLD, FIRE, LOVE, SEX, KIDS, SNOW, RED BLOOD, SOUL.
And he told me the ancient story. “It happened many, many years ago.Men, women, kids who lived in big cities, small towns, villages, were very unhappy. Because their lives weren’t bright. Everything was black and grey.Forests, flowers, sky were black. Even a rainbow was grey. Because of it, all people on the Earth neither smiled nor laughed. Their kids went to school with books but all pictures in the books were grey.
Seeing that, the Gods began to think what they would do for the poor people. Then the youngest God suggested giving people as a present the most invaluable gift-LOVE.
So the people on the Earth got this gift. Everything has changed since that time. We can see the blue sky, green forests and fields, coloured flowers. Sometimes after the rain, we can see a wonderful rainbow in the sky. Children laugh and play. It’s difficult to image that only LOVE has changed our lives!!!
It is a beautiful legend. You can believe or no.”
