Taitung Travel Guide

Воскресенье, 25 Октября 2020 г. 13:17 + в цитатник

Hakka Cultural Park: built in Chishang Township to share the Hakka culture, this park offers several areas where you can learn more about the tribe. One of its main attractions is the Museum of Prehistory, the go-to place to explore the long history of the indigenous peoples of Taiwan.
I've been around Taiwan for many years and there's only one place on this island where locals were able to rip me off on booze (like charging me 2-3 times the normal 台東土產 price for beer) in the middle of the night and it was here, in Taitung. The Guanshan bike-way is 12 km long and circle the city, it starts and ends at the Waterpark.

Bunun Tribe Cultural Park: this project aims at enabling the local population and providing them with the necessary tools to make a living. Archaeologists based out of National Taiwan University underwent the excavation legwork to bring this museum to life, uncovering tens of thousands of artifacts.
Visit to get more options for hotels and hostels in Taitung or anywhere else in Taiwan. From the Japanese Colonial period to the present, Jhihben Hot Spring remains one of Taitung's most beloved destinations. The entrance to the park is free, but if you want to visit the museum it's NTD30.

With the support of the local government, the efforts of local small farms and agricultural industries to preserve these precious natural resources, practice eco-friendly production and ensure food safety in crops and processed products are already jointly recognized by both producers and consumers.
More than 1500 stone coffins and 20 000 stone and pottery artifacts were excavated in Taitung and are now being exhibited at the museum. If you choose to go there, don't expect a wild and natural hot spring. Fifth and last park on my list, Peinandazhen Riverside Park is a small park with not much to offer apart from a nice view over the surrounding mountains.
It's also great in terms of culture, most people living there are from the Yami tribe, traditions are still strongly implemented. If you want to try the aboriginal cuisine head for Mi Ba Nai in Taitung city or Luolei restaurant which also offers traditional music performances.

A Taiwanese man is considering what will be his family's next meal at one of the many street stalls in Taitung City. In Taitung County, you'll still find some villages who kept a more traditional way of life. One of Taitung's main attractions, the National Museum of Prehistory is where most of the Peinan artifacts have been stored.
You can go for a walk to enjoy the scenery and see the abandoned aboriginal village or rent a scooter for around 20 USD to explore the rest of the area. Apart from its natural wonders and well-preserved culture, the slow pace of life also adds to Taitung's charm.
