DROPS Design: cm-057
Yarn group B
----------------------------------------------------------
Measurements: Width at top: approx. 194 cm Height in the middle: approx. 52 cm
Materials:
DROPS COTTON MERINO from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group B)
550 g colour 01, off white

DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE (80 cm) SIZE 4 mm – or size needed to get 21 stitches x 42 rows in garter stitch = width 10 cm and 10 cm vertically.

GARTER STITCH (back and forth):
1 ridge = knit 2 rows.

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.9. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side.

----------------------------------------------------------

SHAWL:
Worked back and forth on circular needle to make room for all the stitches. Cast on 5 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with Cotton Merino. Work diagram A.1, NOTE: Entire piece is worked in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above. When diagram has been worked 1 time vertically, there are 23 stitches on row.

Work diagrams A.2, A.3 and A.4 as follows: Work A.2 over 1 stitches, repeat A.3 until 2 stitches remain on row (= 4 times) and work A.4 over 2 stitches. When the diagrams have been worked 1 time vertically, there are 83 stitches on row. Since the number of stitches in A.3 increases insert marker threads in the middle of every repetition of A.3 to make it easier to see where increases/pattern in A.3 should be worked - move the markers threads upwards when working.

Continue as shown in A.x (i.e. increase in the sides as before and increase/work lace pattern on each side of marker threads in A.3) until A.x has been repeated 11 times vertically after A.2, A.3 and A.4 was worked the first time = 12 times in total. There are now 347 stitches on needle.

Work diagrams A.5, A.6 and A.7 as follows:
Work A.5 over 11 stitches, repeat A.6 until 12 stitches remain on row (= 9 times) and work A.7 over 12 stitches. NOTE: On first row increase some stitches with yarn overs that are knitted twisted on next row from wrong side. On next row from right side work as follows: Work A.5 over 13 stitches, repeat A.6 until 14 stitches remain (= 10 times) and work A.7 over 14 stitches. When diagrams A.5, A.6 and A.7 have been worked 1 time vertically, there are 443 stitches on row.

Work diagrams A.8, A.9 and A.10 as follows:
Work A.8 over 10 stitches, repeat A.9 until 13 stitches remain on row (= 10 times) and work A.10 over 13 stitches. When diagrams A.8, A.9 and A.10 have been worked 1 time vertically, there are 493 stitches on row.

CAST-OFF:
To avoid a tight edge cast off as follows on next row from right side: Cast off while knitting and make a yarn over after every yarn over from previous row in diagrams. Cast off yarn overs as stitches.
