The 12th of October is Columbus Day in Spain and many Spanish speaking countries in South America. The day honours Christopher Columbus, the man who brought the Americas to the attention of the Europeans. Though Columbus thought that he had landed in Asia, he is nevertheless considered to be the man who opened up the New World to the population of the Old World This Video English Lesson is my tribute to this interesting man, and it brings to a wider audience one of the greatest monuments to him that exists.
