The Ford Mustang is a pony car that was introduced at the New York World's Fair on April 17, 1964. The car was an instant success, causing a fervor that would not be equaled for another 50 years. The Mustang entered its sixth generation in 2015. 2 basic model ranges were sold; the base model and the GT. It features an independent rear suspension, right hand drive models, the first 4-cylinder engine since the 1980s SVO, SYNC infotainment, a backup camera, and radical exterior styling changes (mainly prompted to satiate the European market). A coupe and a convertible are offered. Engine offerings are the turbocharged DOHC 2.3L EcoBoost I4, the naturally-aspirated DOHC 3.7L Cyclone V6, and the naturally-aspirated DOHC 5.0L Coyote V8. Transmission choices are two different 6-speed manuals (the Tremec TR-3160 and the MT82) and the 6-speed 6R80 automatic. Only rear wheel drive is offered. The Mustang is offered in base model, Premium, and GT trims, although the V6 is only offered on the base model. The Shelby GT350 variant which features the naturally-aspirated DOHC 5.2L Voodoo V8, as well as the even more race-bred GT350R came later in 2015. No major changes were made in 2016 or 2017. A mild refresh occurred in 2018. The Cyclone V6 was removed from the options list, the 10-speed 10R80 automatic transmission replaced the 6R80, the interior gained a 12-inch LCD gauge cluster, and new wheel options were introduced. The only major change for the 2019 model year was the return of the special Bullitt Edition. The GT500 model will be coming back for the 2020 model year, featuring a supercharged version of the GT350's Voodoo powerplant. Seen in the showroom of a Ford dealership in Scottsdale, AZ.
