Haven't really finished a full personal painting in a while, so feels good to have been able to focus on something like this again!
I always have trouble with the titles, don't know why, but for this one I chose the word 'inspire' because of what this painting personally means to me. It sounds a bit ambitious maybe but I thought it's really fitting: When I was a kid I was able to just come up with stuff just like that and always find joy in drawing them and not think too much (I've since become a huge perfectionist which is in a way good ofc and in a way not), one of my favourite things was to combine two random animals and draw what I thought it'd look like : D this drawing started exactly the same way, and that's a bit rare for me nowadays. I feel like I need some more planning at least or have an idea brew in my head for a while before I start painting it. This one just came out of nowhere, I literally opened Sai and started scribbling whatever I felt like drawing and it appeared on the canvas. I haven't been as inspired with any personal work in a while, mainly because I've just been so busy.

I kind of feel like my inspiration from when I was really young is starting to come back lately! I don't know what's happened, I've been just feeling really motivated to draw and improve lately! 
I'm also trying to find a good balance between detail and light/shadow and doing some speedpaint practices about that, I sometimes feel like I still get too derailed by working on the details too much l but tried to do some light and shadow stuff here.

I actually got this finished pretty quick too! Started it earlier last week.
Also it's the first big painting I've finished with my new tablet, I finally purchased a Cintiq 13HD last weekend and it's sooo worth the money *_* feels so much more natural for me to draw now digitally. Loved my previous tablet (Intuos 3) but I can notice it's important to me to feel like I'm drawing on paper and have my hand and eyes in sync.
