Gap Creek Falls are in Watagans National Park, west of Lake Macquarie. The falls used to be known as Brownes Falls until about 20 Years ago - named after the family who owned a sawmill at Martinsville. Geologically the falls occur on the lower section of the Narrabeen Subgroup, which comprises Triassic sandstones, siltstones and claystones. This panorama was taken with a 21mm rectilinear lens to allow use of a circular polarising filter. A counterpart taken with a fisheye (and consequently no polariser) can ve viewed here.
