Taiwan has good rail and bus services, especially along its western corridor. Public transport is more sporadic on the east and south coasts, where it's helpful to have your own transport or to join a tour. Edison Travel offers a five-day round-island bus trip, with stops at key sights such as Sun Moon Lake, Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery, Kenting National Park and Taroko Gorge. From NT$15,900 ($559) a person, with four nights' five-star accommodation; edison.com.tw.
I wanted to go there but had no time, i remember there being a public area and there's private rooms too i think. It's the main or most visited hot spring i guess in 台東必買伴手禮 Taiwan since it's close to Taipei...there are others ones around the country in the mountains but not too sure. As others suggested, stay in Taipei City is better.

People are friendly, public transport is well organised, food is nice. Taipei is a great city, with a hell of a lot going on. I stayed in Daan (大安區) but other neighbourhoods were easy to visit and very interesting.
The only attraction we really enjoyed today at an admission fee of 450 NTD each was the National Museum of Marine Biology. This is more an aquarium than a museum and we both enjoyed the experience to the point that we spent a lot longer there than I had planned. These comments apply to many of the “attractions” we visited today.
This afternoon, visit Danshui - a laidback waterfront town on the northern part of Taipei city. One of the main settlements for the Spanish in the 1600s, and settled by the Japanese during World War II, this is a town filled with history and unique 1900s architecture and infrastructure. A changing of the honour guard from the various branches of the Republic of China Military take place at the shrine. The shrine closed about half an hour ago and we take photos of it from the gate in front. It is unlikely we will be back but it causes thought about the engagements that lead to the deaths of all these Taiwanese people.
I went solo and travelled around the whole country and i managed. You can't go to Taiwan and not visit a few of them. It's a foodie's paradise and it's quite cheap, too! Tokyo and Taipei are the best places for people who enjoy doing a lot of eating whilst overseas. The people are super friendly, very helpful and will even walk you to your destination if you're lost.

Port Location - The main pier, Tha Dan, is located 9km south of the town of Phang-Nga. The two islands are forest-covered with steep shores. They lie in the north-western part of the Phang Nga Bay, some 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from the main land, amidst a group of a dozen of other islands. The island has a few caves and two sandy beaches, on the south western part and between the twin islands. The best view of the rocks and the bay is gained from a small path, which ascends steeply on the right of the beach at the place where the boats land. Numerous traders sell souvenirs on the beach and there are also some refreshment stalls.
