What we like: Floyd only sells two types of sofas, so it's not the first place to go if you want to browse through a lot of looks. But Floyd is a solid stop for those looking for a modern sectional sofa, priced around $2,000 to $2,500 for the three-seat model. The
best long lasting sofa (which combines Scandinavian modernism with attractive, bright elements) and the section (which is comfortable and modern) have a complex name; each available from two sizes up to a maximum size. We haven't tried The Sectional yet, but plan to in the future. We tested the Sofa (in its three-seater and chaise longue configuration) for over two years, using it every day. We are confident about the frame, which mixes steel and birch plywood with steel legs. Unlike most sofas, the Sofa has no suspension; The double foam seat dog rests only on a thin layer of plywood with a pad. This means that the sofa does not come back, although it looks. The unit uses a flat spring suspension which should provide more damping (again, we haven't tested this).
Both the sofa and the sectional are available in two-seater, three-seater and sectional configurations. The episode, introduced by Floyd in 2021, can be set in a variety of formats, with each pre-packaged version (PDF) containing a short video. The configuration of the sofa is not easy, you will not be able to change two seats into three seats, for example. And if you add a chaise module, you can change it from side to side without tools. In our experience, it is easy to do, in general, we found that assembling the sofa is easy, although it is easy with two people. For both types of sofas, you will need to access the PDF instructions on Floyd's website.
We like Floyd for its quality, price, shipping and delivery communication, ease of ordering, and understanding of things, and its design options provide for future expansion. We also appreciate the assembly videos and photos on its site, so consumers can feel the product in real life on a human scale.
What we don't like: The Sofa model has a foam-filled seat cushion. Combined with the lack of springs or webbing, they made the sofa less comfortable than others we tested. The strong and strong dogs send us to the bottom of the "valley" between them, making it difficult to squeeze the fourth person into three seats, because not everyone will have a flat seat. Our 5-foot-4 reviewer said she found the sofa to be most comfortable when you lie down and use your back and arms as pillows. The back end of the sofa requires frequent turning and turning (like some articles on Sixpenny sofas), and since they run, we find ourselves wanting the seats to be deeper. We haven't tested The Sectional, but we think the spring and vertical suspension may feel more comfortable over time.
