In the book Infografica (Quercus), Martin and Simon Toseland rounded up some of the longest words in different languages, along with their definitions. One of the lengthiest English words, comprising 45 letters (it’s nearly two alphabets long!) is: pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanokoniosis, a kind of lung disease.
