Taiwan: Top 10 Must Try Food

Понедельник, 05 Февраля 2024 г. 16:35 + в цитатник

Oden is a Japanese one-pot dish containing all ingredients in a light soy-flavoured broth. It is a popular food in Japan, Taiwan and South Korea. They are a delicious and very filling snack — not a bad price at only NT$25 for each. If you know of Coco Curry House , try their chicken cheese curry rice ball. Moreover, 7-11 has a classic rice roll made by Fuhang Soy Milk, a breakfast place in Taipei recognized by Michelin.
Cutlet curry – this modest cafe is run by the sweetest old man who tried his best to explain everything to me in English. There are loads of combinations to choose from including pork and chicken cutlets served with rich curry sauce flavoured with ginger. It’s NT$150 for a large serving of meat or 130 for a small one – I went 台東 名產 with the latter. Yizhong Street was just down the road from my hostel so I ate there both nights. It reminded me of Taipei’s Shilin Market because the stands merged with the permanent takeaway cafes and bubble tea shops with lots of them playing loud music. It was hard to know where the high street ended and the market began.

A Taiwanese adaptation of noodles in a beef-based broth brought over by KMT solders from China. Also called red braised beef noodles or beef noodle soup. You might not feel the need to buy cup noodles in Bangkok when you can just pop down to any night market for a steaming hot bowl of authentic noodles. There are so many interesting and delicious restaurants in Taipei that a list of thirteen barely scratches the surface. Taiwan is a country we enjoy visiting so we’ll be refining and building upon this list after every return trip to Taipei. Shilin Night Market is one of the biggest night markets we’ve visited not just in Taipei, but in all of Taiwan.
This perfume’s an excellent way to carry the scent of Taiwan and remember the country’s delicious tea. The P.Seven perfume uses tea leaves aged for 10 years to create a refined scent. It also won the 2022 Art and Olfaction Independent Award . I’m not going to provide details for everything in the table above. The information I will offer will include a brief description of each item, where to get it, and possibly a price.

If you’d rather not risk having to wait for the next ferry, then I suggest renting your bicycle from the mainland instead of Cijin Island. The ferry cost is just a little bit more, just NTD 35 for cyclists as opposed to NTD 25 for pedestrians. Plus, you’ll feel more like a bonafide local, even if you aren’t. If you’re visiting Kaohsiung for just one or two days and skipping Taipei, then the Unlimited MRT Pass may be the better option. It’ll give you unlimited access to the Kaohsiung MRT for 24 or 48 hours. You can purchase an EasyCard from any MRT station and top it up in multiples of NTD 100.
It’s also one of the stops on the Old Kowloon Eats food tour. The moment you take a bite, the woodsy aroma of truffle envelopes your senses. The combination of soup with the black truffle and pork is absolutely delicious.
what souvenirs to buy in hong kongGourmets won’t be able to miss out on the taste of dim sum – a traditional type of dumpling that has existed for a long time. It would be difficult to find authentic dim sum flavors outside of Hong Kong, so this would also make a great gift.

When it comes to night markets, many people say that Raohe has one of the best selections of food in Taipei. A dish you definitely shouldn’t miss is the flame-torched beef. It’s one of my favorite things to eat at Taiwanese night markets. Before eating Sop Ikan Batam, add a little sesame oil, soy sauce, and salted mustard greens – according to taste – as a flavor enhancer. You can eat this Sop Ikan Batam with vermicelli, warm rice, or yellow noodles.
The mixture of the sticky and crunchy rice with the toppings is delicious and comforting. Clay pot rice is Chinese-style rice cooked and served in a clay pot and topped with an assortment of ingredients like chicken, pork, duck, Chinese sausage, and vegetables. None of the menus were in English so we didn’t really know what we were eating, but this fish cake noodle soup was also featured prominently on their menu. It was almost as good as the bowl of springy noodles. This is the second street food stall in Sham Shui Po recommended by the Michelin Guide.

You’ll find more bicycle and scooter rental shops around the stations in Chishang, Guanshan, and Taitung city. Scooter rental shops in Taiwan are becoming stricter about renting to foreigners. Some don’t want to, or they may ask for an IDP, passport, AND your home country motorcycle license.
Don’t worry sweet tooths, we didn’t forget about you! Soft, sticky and sweet, the mochi at Tzen Mochi is perpetually raved about and is not to be missed when in Hualien. Choose from flavours like green bean, red bean, sesame, green tea, yam and sweet potato – all ingredients commonplace in Taiwanese desserts.
Danzai noodles are a specialty of Tainan, and Du Hsiao Yueh has been serving it for over 123 years. Please note that some of these museums are a bit far from downtown Tainan. You can refer to this location map to see exactly where they are in Tainan. You can purchase tickets to Ten Drum creative park at the gate or in advance through Klook. You can purchase tickets to Anping Tree House at the door or in advance through Klook. If you plan on visiting several of Tainan historical attractions, then you may be interested in getting a Tainan Historic Sites Pass.

From then on, Hualien would definitely have to go around and eat fish balls. I thought it was squid, but it turned out to be sea mushrooms. Fried shrimp is a wild natural species, there are some big and small, there are eggs, so delicious, don’t want it. Fried rice is also a must order, it is a test of Kung Fu fried rice, the grains are bright and bright, the fragrant Q is delicious, smooth and tender, bowl after bowl.
In just under a week, this itinerary allows you to explore Taipei and nearby national parks. I love coming here in the early hours of the morning, when the light is most beautiful. Visit Sei Six Seafood located at the Mahkota Raya Ruko Complex, UOB Batam Center. This seafood restaurant has been so legendary since the 1970s, which is synonymous with its rotating round table. You must try the six sei sauce crabs, tamarind fried cuttlefish, white pepper fan shrimp, and spicy and sour snapper.
