Walking or biking change the way of touring Italy. Do spend most of your time at Anacapri (not Capri) if you are just there for the four hours & take chair lift to the top of it. Your feet dangle over beautiful natural wildflower gardens all the way up (we went end of June) and the views are so lovely.

There are many ways to visit Sorrento , the Amalfi coast, Pompeii,Capri or the Vesuvius, for sure someone already did it with a tour bus, guided tours, with private cars, private guides on minivans excursions from a cruise ship, train ext., but many don't know that there is a different way of seeing these places without crowds of people, away from traffic and noisy roads.

A lift can be taken from the hotel lobby down to a private beach and seaside cocktail bar. We did this right upon arriving in Capri and got to see all the grotto's that most visitors will miss out on. I know everyone wants to see the famous Blue Grotto but it's expensive and very time consuming.

Sorrento may not be known for having a lengthy list of free things at hand for tourists to do. However, there are a few things that do not cost much or anything at all that will expose the beauty of the city.
