The all time question of the inspiration behind the creative process can be answered differently. Students often ask me, when we are analysing a text: "Did the writer really mean it this way? How can we be certain that he meant what we think hemeant?" But really, there's no saying for sure. But as C.S. Lewis said in "It All Began with a Picture" about the inspiration behind some of his fiction. 'I don't believe,' he said, 'anyone knows exactly how he "makes things up".
