Вторник, 09 Июля 2019 г. 22:17 + в цитатник

It's been quite a while given that we went over security doors, so we believed it was about time for a refresher. Let's start by reminding ourselves what they are and why we need them.

What is a security door, and why do we need them?

Put simply, and as the name implies, a security door supplies enhanced defense and protecting from numerous undesirable circumstances and scenarios; as an effect they are likely to be heavy duty and of extremely strong (frequently but not always metal) construction, and great care will have been handled their design. There are a number of reasons we might need them, chief among which are:

avoiding undesirable access (conscious as constantly of emergency situation evacuations).

preventing or decreasing the passage of fire and/or smoke.

security-- a style that removes the possibility of fingers getting caught in the door.

Ramifications of not installing security doors ...

Well, there are numerous, and they all hinge (no pun planned) on being unable to prevent the undesirable things happening: if your doors are not protect then it's easier for people to break in and steal or damage your items and home; fire and smoke will spread out much more quickly; and individuals's fingers can get caught in closing doors. So we're discussing numerous points on the scale which range from real death through breaking the law and contravening guidelines through significantly harmed hands and fingers through loss/damage of/to valuable possessions to raised insurance premiums ... with all sorts of commercial implications.

Need we say more?

PAS 24.

This is your assurance that the door is being kept an eye on by a UKAS certified certification body to ensure compliance with PAS 24:201.

Enhanced security efficiency requirements for doorsets and windows in the UK. External doorsets and windows intended to use a level of security appropriate for dwellings and other structures exposed to equivalent threat and the particular and the pertinent product specific standard for general efficiency referenced in BS 6375 Components 1, 2 and 3.

PAS 24, like most British Standards, is a minimum standard. In other words it does not include higher or lower grades for security, and so doors that are tested to the specifications of the basic either pass or stop working. Although some of the doorsets that pass will be a little stronger than the minimum needed, a minimum standard motivates engineers to create the door to pass at the minimum requirements. This makes financial and ecological sense and the efficiency of doors certificated to this requirement has proven that the minimum levels set by the British ΠΟΡΤΕΣ ΑΣΦΑΛΕΙΑΣ Standards were just about area on.

Classes of use.

Since there are all sorts of various environments where security doors are required, many of which are used by the general public, as you may anticipate there is a British Requirement to help guide you through what type of door you require: DD171:1987.

The basic sets out 4 levels or classes of use:.

Light responsibility-- radio frequency of usage and probably not that severe, such as in a personal home.

Medium task-- medium frequency of use, some possibility of an accident, however the door is not generally used by the public-- for example an internal office door.

Heavy duty-- great deals of usage, consisting of by the public, and a fairly high opportunity of an accident-- for instance in a retail outlet.

Extreme responsibility-- the only image you need to have in your mind here is a school when the bell goes for playtime and all the children run towards the door. Enough said!

Safehinge?

Setting up a secure door to avoid undesirable gain access to and the spread of fire and smoke is something, however how do we prevent fingers getting trapped? This is where Safehinge is available in-- a kind of door hinge which totally gets rid of any opportunity of fingers getting caught by utilizing a specialist pivot set and a curved (aluminium) profile-- the gap at the hinge when opening and closing is therefore eliminated.
