Don't be a "me, too" person.
Learn to think and speak
for yourself.
Some people never seem to have an opinion on anything. They wait for someone else to speak or act, and then chime in with, "Me, too." They never think for themselves, stand out from teh crowd, contributte to a conversation, or offer an opposing point of view.
THINK FOR YOURSELF
Don't fo through life echoing the ideas of other people. Learn to think for yourself. One of the first things to do is memorize several questions to help bring you out of the "me, too" mode:
>Do I agree with what's being said?
>Do I believe what this person is saying, or am I being conned?
>Is this the way I would do it?
>If I had unlimited time, energy, or money, how would I do it differently?
>What is the ideal solution to this situation?
>Am I trying to "win," or just "get by"?
By asking yourself a few questions like these, you'll learn how to think for yourself. You'll develop confidence to form your own opinions and reach your own conclusions.
SPEAK FOR YOURSELF
Before you can learn to speak for yourself, you must learn to think for yourself. Once your thoughts are clear, it's much easier to speak. You may want to preface your thoughts with an introductory phrase such as, "Is it possible that. . . .," "I think another way to do it might be. . ," "Would it help if we. . . ," or something similar.
You don't need to express yourself with an arrogant, "pushy" style. You want develope confidence, not become obnoxiousl As you begin to think and speak for yourslef, you will contribute much more to life than if you always fall back on the comfortable, secure phrase, "Me, too."
Ya'll probably think that is the dumbest thing you have ever read...."Who want's to be told to think for themselves everyone thinks for themselves....but then I noticed "no they don't" I thought this can help a few people out....this book has helped me and that is only 1 principle out of a 100 good lesson learned right??
