Account setting dialogs
Most of the information can be set in the main “Add New E-mail Account” dialog but for either account you’ll also need to modify more advanced settings by pressing the “More Settings…” button. The settings below are sorted by the dialog that you need to access. If you are having problems finding out where to put in which information, look at the numbers in front of the settings and you can find them back in the screenshots section at the bottom of this document.
Live Hotmail / Outlook.com
Windows Live Hotmail and Outlook.com offer access via special Outlook Hotmail Connector software, which provides a two-way sync for mail, contacts and calendar, and access via POP3 for paid accounts and free accounts in most countries. In Outlook 2013, you can connect to your Hotmail account via Exchange Active Sync (EAS).
 
Outlook Connector
Download and install the Outlook Connector from the location below;
Download: Outlook Hotmail Connector 32-bit
Download: Outlook Hotmail Connector 64-bit
Note: You will only need to install the 64-bit version when you are using the 64-bit version of Outlook 2010.
Start Outlook. If you don’t get prompted to add a new account already then choose;
Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007
Tools-> Account Settings…Outlook Connector-> Add a New Account…
Outlook 2010
File-> Info-> Add Account-> Manually 
  • configure server settings or additional server types-> Other-> Microsoft Outlook Hotmail Connector
In the screen that pops-up you’ll have to provide your:
1 Name: The display name you’d like others to see.
2 E-mail address: Your main address of the Microsoft Account in full
(yourname@hotmail.com, yourname@live.com or yourname@outlook.com)
3 Password hotmail ; Your Microsoft Account password
Advanced (optional)
4 Account name The display name for your account. This name is used in your folder list, in your account settings and when selecting your sending account when composing a message.
5 Reply E-mail You can specify an alternative address here to which replies will be sent when people reply to your messages.

Gmail

GMail offers access via IMAP and POP3 but you must first enable this. To do this, logon to your Gmail account and press Settings at the top of your screen. In the new page that load click “Forwarding and POP/IMAP”.

Don’t set Outlook to save the sent items in the Sent Items folder of the IMAP account or you’ll end up with duplicates. When you send via the SMTP server of Gmail, then your Sent Items are automatically placed there. If you are restricted to using another SMTP server (from your ISP for example), then you would still need to configure your account to save to the Sent Items folder.

Hotmail becomes Outlook.com In Radical Microsoft Overhaul

Once again Microsoft has given us some interesting news: the company said Tuesday that it is converting Hotmail, the world's largest web based email service, into a new Outlook - Outlook.com.

Hotmail first for many
Hotmail was launched in 1996 and bought by Microsoft the year after, and today this free e-mail service has over 320 million users around the globe. Many of us have had a hotmail address as our first e-mail address, and today that feels very long ago. I think Microsoft wants to give the service a more modern name, that does not give these "old-fashioned" associations. And what could be more suitable than to take advantage of Outlook, their dominant e-mail software?

Better user interface and social integration
Hotmail's biggest competitor, G-mail, has better integration with social media and a nicer user interface than the current Hotmail, but that is something Microsoft has decided to change. Therefore Outlook com will have great possibilities to interact with social media like Facebook or Twitter, and the new interface is clean with a calm blue default color.

Advertisements
In Outlook.com Microsoft will restrict advertisements to text messages on the right hand side of the screen, and there will be no ads at all for person-to-person messages. The Hotmail ads are placed right in the page so that users are forced to look at them, and this has probably made many turn away from Hotmail. With the ads to the right you never actually have to see them. At least I have learned to completely ignore the ads of Facebook, which also are placed on the right side!

Unsubscribe button
Something I like in Outlook.com is the unsubscribe button. For emails that Outlook recognizes as an ad, it will add a universal unsubscribe button to the message. When it is clicked, Microsoft will unsubscribe to further e-mails via the retailer and also automatically filter any future promotions into the trash if the unsubscribe is ignored.

Nowadays people make active choices by subscribing to blogs and following organizations in social media, and we will therefore rely on those channels for information in the future and stop sending out monthly newsletters.
 
Slow transition
Microsoft will not rush or force users into Outlook.com. Instead a growing number of Hotmail users will  be invited to test Outlook.com during the next few months, and there is no deadline for the final goodbye to Hotmail. Current Hotmail users will be able to keep their @hotmail.com or @live.com addresses, but new users can only choose between @outlook.com or @hotmail.com.

There are four options: Windows phone, Android, iPhone, and Others. Click on options and download the Microsoft Authenticator app. Then, choose one from the options. The setup Microsoft Authenticator app page will guide you to do it in a proper way. And you will need to verify that it’s you from the android app on your android device.

2.On Choosing A phone number

In this option, you need to provide your current phone number that you are carrying so that Microsoft can send you a code for verification. You will either receive a call or a text as per your selection. Next time you log in to a new device, the verification code is sent to your phone number.

3.On Choosing An alternate mail address

Get an alternative mail account so that it can secure your mail address. On choosing this option a new page will appear where you need to enter your alternate (existing) mail address.

And finally, you are done with setting up the two-factor authentication Hotmail using an alternate mail address.

But you cannot use security codes generated from two-step verification everywhere. Some apps like mail apps on windows phone and devices like Xbox 360 do not use regular security codes. As a result, you will need an app password for the app or device if you see an incorrect password error.

If you have two-factor authentication enabled for your account then only you can use App password. If you haven’t turned on the two-step authentication, you will not see App password section in Additional security options page.

Create an App Password

  1. After enabling the two-factor authentication, go to Security page.
  2. Then, click on the More security options.

  3. Scroll a little and then click on the Create a new app password under the App passwordsection.
  4. The password will be generated. Enter this password where you would enter your normal password.
Note:
You need to create a new app password for each app or device that cannot use security codes.

Go Back to One-Step Verification

We recommend you to enable the Two-factor authentication for the security of your account. But there might be some time when you do not need an extra layer of security or you want to change the method of authentication. With this in mind, you may prefer to disable the two-factor authentication. Follow the steps:

  1. At first, sign in to your account if you haven’t.
  2. In the upper right corner, click on your name or essentially a picture.

I believe many people when applying for App ID will use old emails or emails that are not used primarily, then there is a problem that if the email is not used often.

If you want to change the email address of App le ID, please ask. Reply with quote Like the original Apple ID used by abc@hotmail.com. I want to change it. xyz@gmail.com can not do without iTunes Purchase History , Music, or Movies. How to do this.
