The Art and Challenge of Practice Makes Progress |
Even though I am spiritual rather than religious, I'd like to begin with Matthew 7:24-27, a segment Matthew writes as being spoken by Jesus about practice: Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a smart man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; nonetheless it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But Twenty One Pilots Fan Art Contest who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain camera down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house, and it fell with a fantastic crash.
First, I certainly do not mean my words; I mean the words you hear and feel in your own heart, the words that talk to you and your soul, the words spoken straight from Source to you. Secondly, I'm not calling anybody foolish; however, every one of us gets our flip in practicing foolishness at one time or another. That is just a part of their learning and growing expertise, whether we like it or not. Third, as I opened with, knowing something is not the same as practicing it, ever; and practice really does make advancement. It forms the solid rock base of self-trust and trust in Source, even or especially if we feel ourselves briefly in the valley rather than on the mountaintop.
How can you train or learn yourself to practice what's going to enhance your everyday adventure of life? You start by deciding exactly what it is you wish to practice, say,"Choose inner peace." You likely don't have to wait long to have an experience where this choice would be a fantastic clinic, and you forget, possibly for a day, week, month or longer, because emotions run strong. Once you're calmer, you recall you did make that selection. You think on this, possibly admonish yourself for forgetting, which I do not recommend. I prefer a gentle reminder like,"Alright, I forgot to remember this time; but finally I will remember my pick." Perhaps you forget a couple more times before a day, when triggered, you do remember and say to yourself,"New program: Pick inner peace" You work out the best way to do that and put it in practice. Please keep in mind that exercise does not mean"perfect" It means practice.
Each time, it gets simpler to choose it, which is, to training your choice, to participate your new program, even if following through gifts challenges which ask for more or different inner work, insight, and imagination on your part. As you practice, you are feeling your development and personal power, in addition to your connection with your self and Source move up a notch. And it feels good. It feels right. You find you listen for other opportunities to practice your choice, or other opportunities to earn similar valuable choices. The new practice, and the evolution it causes in you, begins to feel more natural, more comfortable than simply not evolving or practicing, despite obstacles.
