5pcs Dan Moi Musical Jews Harp Jaw Mouth Harp Brass Viet Nam Hmong Instrument Vietnamese

The Jaw Harp is a small traditional rhythmic instrument.
By plucking the reed the fingers play separated tones, producing tone lengths and rhythm. The reed may be plucked by one stretched finger, picking the reed from below and away from the mouth (figure 1 und 3 A, solid arrow). The finger may also pick the reed in the opposite direction (figure 3 A, broken arrow). Thus plucked back and forth, melodies with fast rhythm patterns can be played, as in sound example 1 (158 KB).
This effect is more clearly shown when all even and odd overtones are plotted. The volume of the respective played notes (peaks) was compared to the adjacent peaks. For this purpose the mean dB-value of the respective two adjacent peaks was substracted from the value of the central peak. When the resulting difference is positive, the played peak protrudes from its surroundings - the played tone can be clearly heard. Figure 9 shows the mean of differences for odd overtones and even overtones (error bars show standard deviations).
Change the shape of your mouth and your tongue position to make different sounds with the harp. The key to this is experimenting until you have an intuitive sense of how to make each different sound. It's like learning to speak a different language, and the various basic sounds are the letters which you can combine together to make sentences (songs).
Not far from the restaurant, in the store "Kudai Bakhsy" (Кудай Бахсы), there's a wide selection of Yakutsk souvenirs. After the fleshly pleasures of lunch, set off for a dessert of the soul with a trip to the National Art Museum (Национальный художественный музей РС), which stands right there on Lenin Square. But it's worth bearing in mind that even a "running tour" of the expositions would require one-two hours. To fill the rest of the day you could visit the museum of local lore (Краеведческий музей), which is just 10 minutes on foot from Lenin Square to the northeast. If you want a really great dinner before ending your day, head to the Yakut-Russian restaurant "Chochur Muran" (Чочур Муран), which is located in a picturesque setting, and which contains its own museum's worth of various 19th century curiosities.
Founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, magnificent Alexandria boasts a storied past. Queen Cleopatra ruled her kingdom of Egypt from here for a time. And its soaring Lighthouse of Alexandria, or Pharos, long since collapsed, was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Spread at the mouth of Egypt's Nile River, this historic port grew into a center of education and the second most powerful city in the world after Rome. It remained the capital of Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine Egypt for a millennium until the Arab conquest in 641 AD. Alexandria's magnificent library was the largest in the ancient world; international scholars flocked here in search of knowledge. A stunning modern library has replaced it, rising dramatically from the shore. The ancient amphitheater, too, provides a glimpse of the city under Rome.
The sound of a Jew's harp is greatly altered with variations in air flow or lack of air flow. A good seal around the playing area frame with the lips directs more air through the spaces between reed and frame. Be careful not to mute the reed with your lips. Inhaling and exhaling in rapid succession will add a vibrato effect. Hard blasts of air can overblow the reed causing a kind of base distortion.
